Every Chance After” isn’t just a book—it’s the kind of story that grabs your heart from the very first page and doesn’t let go. The moment I spotted it on NetGalley, I knew it would become a weekend obsession—and it delivered on every front.

Jessica Sherry has a magical way of creating characters that feel real, like old friends you can’t help but root for. Marnie and Grady leap off the page with warmth, pain, and irresistible chemistry. I couldn’t stop smiling at the little cameos from past books and laughed out loud at one unforgettable scene. But above all, it’s the emotional depth and the genuine, slow-burn connection between the characters that made this read feel like something truly special.

It’s more than a romance—it’s a story of healing, hope, and finding light in the darkest places. I’m already excited to catch up with Marnie and Grady in future books. That’s the kind of impact “Every Chance After” leaves: it stays with you, like a quiet ache and a warm hug all at once. ❤️🔥📚🫠

Thanks to netgalley for this ARC!

I’d rate 4.5/ taking away half of a star for how unbelievable Ashe and Cora are. What a reality show.

This novel surprised me in a good way! I wouldn’t have believed that Marina and Grady could truly develop feeling for each other based on their first meeting, but I was pleased with the evolution of their relationship.

The grubby guys at the convenience store still gave me the creeps but since they had good intentions I looked beyond the feeling of ick they gave me.

Some heavy themes in this book, be prepared!

I absolutely loved Every Chance After! From the very first page, it pulled me in by diving straight into the drama and it never let go. I really appreciated that approach; sometimes the slow build-up at the beginning of a book can be hard to get through, but that wasn’t an issue here at all.

Marnie was such a sweetheart! She was incredibly tough on herself, but it was clear she felt she had to be after spending so much time on her own. Rather than letting hardship make her bitter, she chose to be her own sunshine. She was hopeful, constantly refusing to let the bad drag her down or dwell on it, even though life had been anything but fair. She was the perfect match for Grady, who honestly made me want to shake him at times! I was frustrated with him early on but I did come to understand him more as the story progressed. Still, I kept hoping he’d finally start stepping up for himself and allow inner healing instead of hiding.

They both had gone through , and were going through, real life challenges but I loved that they were able to meet each other where they were and move forward. This story tackled some heavy topics but I honestly felt everything was handled very well. I’d recommend checking CW for more sensitive readers.

Overall, I really enjoyed this read and would wholeheartedly recommend it!

Wow. This is a real emotional rollercoaster of a book. Marnie and Grady's worlds collide literally when they get into a car accident. Grady spends almost the entire book wracked with guilt for the many ways that accident has changed Marnie's life (she was injured, lost her job and her fiancee). He works really hard to support Marnie as she rebuilds her life. The two build a lovely relationship that begins are friendship and slowly develops into more. When I say "slowly" I mean REAL SLOW. You have to have a lot of patience with this book and with Grady. He's very much lost in his world of grief. The levity of the book comes from a pretty funny cast of side characters (small town life). Although the book sometimes felt like it was dragging, I was so invested in Marnie and Grady that I kept reading. I think you'll end up doing the same.

Thank you NetGalley for the free digital ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this soo much!!
I loved this couple so much! They had instant chemistry and connection!
Every Chance After is about our main characters, Marina & Grady, who meet after a tragic accident that was caused by the MMC! This accident changes Marina's life in more ways than one and will change her future. Through his guilt Grady refuses to leave Marina's side and will do everything to make it up to her!! However, this doesn't exactly play out the way he thought it would and there may be more to their friendship than they thought!!
We have grumpy x sunshine, found family, age-gap, friends-lovers & slow burn 🔥
I don't normally like age-gap romances but in this book you couldn't really tell whilst reading that there was a gap!
Grady was probably my fav character in this book, he had to come back to the small town after going through a divorce, he stuck himself into work and busied himself doing things that were needed. He has a lot of trauma that he has to deal with and Marnie helps him through it! I loved that he let himself open up to her and be the person they both needed, as well as what his family needed 💗
Marina has a heart of gold and never lets anyone down, except she's letting people walk all over her because of her desperation for a family but that family abandon her, taking her fiance and job with it!! However, she doesn't let it defeat her and gets back out there and when an opportunity comes up to redesign a store in a dire condition, she takes the challenge on and exceeds leading to more opportunities! She doesn't let herself have a breakdown or any negative feelings even after everything she's been through, until Grady who becomes the person she needs the most and lets her have all her feelings! She's truly an amazing FMC 💖
Omg I loved Wade, Roy, Christie, Wren their little group was the best little family and it was so nice to see and for Marina to be welcomed into, it was like the family she never had!! Marigold was another side character who I adored, I loved everything she represented and her whole personality 💕
Thank you to Jessica Sherry for the arc of this book! 💗

4⭐️
✔️age gap
✔️ grumpy sunshine
✔️found family
✔️he takes care of her
✔️ neurodivergent and mental health rep

Marina and Grady are brought together by tragedy but show that with time, real love and a deep understanding of each other something beautiful can grow and develop. The themes touched on throughout this whole book are handled with such beautiful delicacy and I really connected and related with them. The found family and side characters really helped flesh out the whole story and I loved them.

This isn’t a light read but it’s a story that really sat with me and I wanted to absorb and appreciate it. Jessica thank you for writing such a special story with a tortured MMC and a damaged people pleasing FMC. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and felt connected to all the characters.

I received and ARC copy of this book from NetGalley!

This is such a sweet, feel-good book. The story is delightful, and I really appreciate the pacing throughout. It's a warm, loving narrative about individuals discovering their perfect place in the world. I absolutely adored Marigold and wish I could have read more about her! Lastly, I loved how the love story evolved throughout the book

One of my favorite tropes is 'grumpy and sunshine' and there is plenty of it in this book. After being in an accident, Grady and Marnie's story develops and goes through a lot, till it brings them together. However, I didn't like that their bond was born from trauma. I rather liked Grady's family dynamic, the chaos and happiness with them.

Overall, I give this book 4 stars.

This was a quick read. I really enjoyed this romance. I loved the sweetness and I loved the characters' growth. The plot was typical romance, but the writing made it feel fresh. There were moments that stood out through the story and I just felt this predictable story was handled well by the author. I will read more by this Author in the future.

Every Chance After started off with intensity and that carried through the entire book! You could feel the chemistry between the two main characters right from the get go and it never let up. There was lots of fun banter and a colorful cast of characters that all had a degree of relatability to them. While the main theme was the relationship between Grady and Marina, I found the relationship between Grady and Marigold to be one of my favorites. This book was a lot of fun but did definitely touch on some tough subjects. The author did a good job in approaching these topics in a sensitive manner but not making light of them. There is also a bit of spice but nothing too out there and easily skippable if that isn't your thing. Overall, a truly enjoyable read and I would love to get a spinoff or two with some of the side characters being featured!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the review copy in exchange for my honest opinions.

The tropes were troping in this one. Age gap ☑️ found family ☑️ grumpy sunshine ☑️ slow burn ☑️ positive mental health representation. I honestly couldn’t have asked for more.

For as long as I can remember, I have been a fan of traditional romance. From just the description of this book alone, I knew that I wanted to read it. It did not disappoint at all.

One thing I will say is that from the description, I had a certain idea in regards to what would happen early in the book. I was completely wrong, and to be honest, I didn’t know how the main characters would get past it. This is one of those books that, based on the subject matter, I think will stick with me for a long time.

“Age-gap” isn’t a genre that I would have said that I liked in the past; however, this book is definitely one I can add into the “plus” column. I was so glad when the MMC got out of his own way.

All in all, I loved this book. It was one that I tried not to read so fast, because I kind of wanted to savor it a bit. Also, I absolutely loved the side characters as well. I cannot wait to read what is next from this author.

**I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.**

I really enjoyed this book, which told a unique story about the main characters working through their pasts, while developing their future together. The characters throughout the book were written in a way that showcased their unique personalities and highlighted that everyone has their struggles. Definitely would recommend this book and this author.

A heartfelt, opposites-attract romance in a cozy small town setting that absolutely hit me in the feels.
Note: I received an advance copy from the author with no obligation to review. These thoughts are entirely my own.
Every Chance After was everything I look for in a feel-good romance—emotional depth, engaging characters, and a strong sense of place. I picked it up mid-afternoon and found myself flipping the last page in the early hours of the morning. It completely consumed me.
The story centers on Marnie and Grady, whose lives intertwine after a heartbreaking turn of events. Grady makes a serious mistake that threatens Marnie’s future, and instead of walking away, he commits to making amends. But as the story unfolds, it becomes clear that redemption might not look the way he expected—and the path forward may be more about healing than fixing.
Marnie is an absolute beam of light. Always optimistic, endlessly kind, and relentlessly hopeful, she faces an unexpected upheaval with grace and grit. I adored her quirky, cat-loving, thrift-store-savoring energy. Even when life hits hard, she manages to lift others up—often at the cost of her own peace. Her strength isn’t loud, but it’s undeniable, and watching her journey was like wrapping yourself in a warm blanket.
Grady, on the other hand, stole my heart. A loner with a prickly exterior, he’s returned home post-divorce and buried himself in work at the vet clinic and family farm. But when his world collides with Marnie’s, something begins to shift. Watching this reserved, emotionally guarded man slowly open himself to joy and love was incredibly rewarding. His growth felt honest and earned, and I appreciated how grounded his character was.
This isn’t just a fluffy romance—there are some deeply emotional layers here. The story touches on themes like infertility, trauma, and loss, and I’d encourage readers to check the author’s content warnings. That said, the heavier moments were handled with sensitivity and care, and never felt out of place or overdone.
Representation is also beautifully woven into the narrative, from found family dynamics to the inclusion of a vibrant, gender non-conforming side character who added so much heart.
This was my first read from Jessica Sherry, but definitely not my last. If you’re in the mood for an emotionally rich small-town love story with a grumpy/sunshine twist and deeply human characters, this one’s for you.

When Marnie and Grady’s worlds collide everything completely changes. This grumpy/sunshine story is about forgiveness and acceptance with likable characters and emotional moments.

All Marnie’s ever wanted is a family who accepts her as she is, but when she gets into an accident on her wedding day with life altering consequences, that dream quickly slips away. Grady is the town grump, who avoids his neighbors and well meaning family. When an honest mistake changes the course of a young woman’s life, he’s racked with the guilt of his careless mistake. Though graciously forgiven, he cannot let go of the damage he has caused. When Marnie’s fiancé and future in laws abandon her during her recovery, Grady steps in to help. As he lovingly cares for her, attraction quickly starts to bubble to the surface. Can Grady let go of his guilt and start something beautiful with Marnie?

This was a heartfelt story about loss and rebuilding something new. Both characters showed a lot of grace as they come to terms with the consequences of that day. I appreciated Grady’s protectiveness over Marnie. He’s not overbearing, but rather encourages her to not be a doormat and put her needs first. Marnie brings out his softer side that disappeared after the loss of his baby and dissolution of his marriage. They had great chemistry and their relationship evolves naturally. It’s definitely cheesy at moments, but honestly if you’re looking for a low angst read this is it. I’ve listed the trigger warnings below, but please make sure to read the author’s trigger warnings as well in case I’ve left any out.

From the very first page, Every Chance After had me completely hooked. Jessica Sherry throws you straight into the action with a dramatic, emotional opening that sets the tone for a beautifully written story about healing, hope, and second chances.
The characters are so well developed, I genuinely felt like I knew them. I absolutely adored the dynamic between Grady and Marnie, it's real, heartfelt, and full of gentle moments that slowly build into something so meaningful. I found myself rooting for them so hard the entire way through!

One of the things I loved most is that not one single page bored me. Every chapter pulled me deeper in.
Whether it was emotional, sweet, or filled with quiet strength, each scene served a purpose and made me care even more.
The writing is smooth and easy to fall into, but it's also layered with just the right amount of depth and warmth.

This is the kind of story that sticks with you long after you finish it, the kind that makes you smile to yourself when you think about it.

Honestly, l'd give this more than 5 stars if I could. It's heartwarming, moving, and full of beautiful little moments that made me pause and breathe it all in.
Highly recommend. A new favourite!

4.75 ⭐️ This book was everything I didn't know I needed! Every Chance After contains such well thought out and emotionally complex characters facing real life issues while still giving all that you would expect in a small town, contemporary romance. Grady and Marnie felt so relatable as they each handle what the world has thrown at them and how they have chosen to handle it. This book truly had me feeling all the emotions and while some topics are hard, I feel so light after finishing it. I am excited to look into and read more Jessica Sherry books based on how this book made me feel.

Honestly I really struggled with this! Grady, a workaholic vet, runs over Marnie, the brainless blonde who only wants to get married and live a fairytale. Somehow he saves her life by clamping her iliac artery (and she doesn't even lose her legs!) in the middle of the road, but this then means she can't have children, so the fairytale is over, but oh wait the vet loves her so it's fine?

It read like a very bad fanfiction. The relationship between our main characters is somehow built off an 'insta-love' connection that feels unrealistic and everyone just seems to accept it, but also accept that every single character in this book has not a single redeeming feature.
