I loved Marnie, my thrifty customer service queen and lover of second chances. She was an aggressive people pleaser in the beginning, doing everything she could to make the people around her more comfortable, even in her worst moment. I loved getting to see her become more confident and honest with herself. I also thought she and Grady balanced each other out well. She made him softer and gave him space to relax, while he gave her the unconditional support, and love she deserved, that she so freely gave to everyone around her. Found family is always one of my favorite tropes, and if anyone deserves game nights and good-natured family meddling, it’s Marnie.

I absolutely loved Every Chance After by Jessica Sherry! I was so sad when I finished it because I didn’t want it to end. I really enjoyed Marina and Grady’s relationship and how it gradually developed over time. Despite the tragedy they faced, they were able to overcome it together, which only strengthened their friendship and eventually turned into something more. I highly recommend this book to everyone — it’s a heartfelt story about resilience, love, and the power of connection.

The plot and storyline was good and believable. I had a good time reading it. The mix of drama, comedy, and romance is definitely up my alley and I knew I was in for a feel-good read when I got a few chapters in. That being said, there are some real tough and traumatic issues that were discussed very delicately and appropriately.
I enjoyed this book, but there were a few things that just weren’t for me that lowered my rating (for example the age gap…just not my cup of tea) and just overall keeping my interest.

This exceeded any and all of my expectations!
Marnie and Grady were so endearing. Marnie might be my favorite FMC ever... pirate queen strategist and eternal optimist extraordinare! Loved the slow burn and that there was no third act breakup or huge miscommunication. There was drama that felt REAL and didn't take away from the levity and humor throughout the book. The found family aspect was so good. Each and every character was written so well. I cannot say enough!

I loved Every Chance After by Jessica Sherry. The story of Grady and Marnie was perfect and wasn't your traditional romance book. I think going into this one blind is the best way!

This was my first Jessica Sherry book and I'll definitely be looking for more to read.
This book starts off really intense. I was not expecting that level of detail to go into describing a potentially fatal injury. So heads up for those reading that it may be too much for you. I'm okay with things like that, just wasn't expecting it.
I really liked Grady & Marnie together, a Grumpy meets Sunshine couple for sure. They had an unconventional and traumatic beginning, but somehow it was kismet, in a weird almost-morbid sort of way. I was really rooting for them. This book is a really slow burn, so don't go into this expecting this great romance right away. You'll be reading for a while as Grady fights his feelings and guilt over causing the accident that hurt Marnie. And you may even be like me and get frustrated by Grady and his insistence that he doesn't deserve to be happy. He was definitely exhausting at times. But he had a good heart and that won me over.
I loved the cast of side characters...except Ashe and his family - I mean, who leaves their fiance in the hospital and goes on their honeymoon?!? That family was definitely the lowest of the haughty low. The G&G crew were wonderful and a joy to see them come back to life with the help of Marnie.
As a NC resident, I also enjoyed that this took place in my home state. Although the real life Seagrove is not on the coast ;-)

This beautifully raw romance begins with a life-altering accident that derails Marnie’s wedding and upends her life. Grady, the man behind the wheel that day, can’t help but feel responsible—and steps up to help Marnie piece her life back together, though he tells himself it’s purely out of guilt. Yet as the two spend time together, they find comfort, laughter, and hope where they least expect it.
Told from both perspectives, this novel balances heavy themes—infertility, family obligations, and grief—with a tenderness that feels utterly real. Marnie’s honesty about her feelings, her rocky relationship with her mother, and Grady’s grumpy yet caring nature make them a couple you root for. The supporting characters, especially the pets, add warmth and humor, turning this from a story of tragedy into one of healing and second chances.
A heartfelt, angsty romance that proves love can grow from the unlikeliest of places. Highly recommended for readers who love stories of resilience and hope.

This book surprised me. It pulled me in right away and I fell in love with all the characters. I love stories with found family and this did not disappoint. The characters are so rich and vibrant, Both main characters not only meet in a tragic way but have a lot of baggage from their pasts. The content warning at the beginning certainly signal that this is a heavy book and it was but there was also levity and sweetness and a true slow burn. I really loved this.

I won’t lie, I struggled with this one. Not for lack of plot or the way it was written, I just think some of it was a bit unbelievable and a little too cheesy for me? I really wanted to like it, and for the most part, I did. I just couldn’t get past a few things.
Grumpy/Sunshine and Found Family are two of my very favorite tropes. In practice, one wasn’t really my cup of tea and the other was everything I wanted and more.
Grumpy (Grouchy) Grady and Sunshine Marina (Marnie) were almost too on the nose. Marnie, specifically, rubbed me the wrong way with her - sometimes toxic - positivity. Luckily, Grady helped her past that, but it was painful at times to hear her justify everything with “no frowns, no fears, no tears.”
I was hoping for more development dealing with Grady’s exhaustion from being everything for everyone - vet, son, brother, etc. He kind of just transferred all of that energy to Marnie’s wellbeing and, although sweet, just felt like a loose end. He’s such a sweetie pie and I really loved him, I just wanted more from him in terms of growth.
Maybe it’s a me-thing, but I just cannot forgive the way Marnie does. She’s had some pretty huge bombshells dropped on her and without much preamble, those who dropped them are forgiven. I admire that, I just don’t know how realistic it is.
The pacing felt super off at the end with their relationship, but again, that’s probably a me-thing and I’m being picky.
The found family aspect was done so, so well. That alone was its own story. Wade, Roy, and Christie were the perfect gruff, yet squishy group of misfits for Marnie to wrangle. I loved their individual backgrounds and how that shaped the G&G and their friendships.
The side characters really shined in this book. I felt like they were fully developed and helped move the plot along. Just really well-written.
I enjoyed this book, it just wasn’t my favorite. Don’t let that stop you - definitely check it out for a fun summer read!

Thank you to NetGalley and the author, Jessica Sherry, for the ARC in exchange for an honest review 🤍

Marnie Strange is finally stepping into the life she’s always dreamed of. She's marrying Ashe, the charming son of a well-known local family, and she’s found purpose and pride in her work at Sunny’s Beach Market. But more than anything, she longs for the feeling of true belonging.
Grady Tripp isn’t interested in fairy tales. Recently divorced and emotionally guarded, he’s thrown himself into running his family’s farm and vet clinic. He’s fine being alone, or at least he tells himself that. When a tragic accident caused by Grady shatters Marnie’s future, guilt compels him to make it right. But as he gets closer to her, both must face their pasts and question whether healing might come in the form of something unexpected: love.
This is my second book by Jessica Sherry and I absolutely loved it. Her characters always feel like real, complex humans who make you feel the full spectrum of emotions. I think Marnie is a unicorn and there is so much we could all learn from her forgiving heart. I also really appreciated that she stood up for herself. So often, characters written with that sunshine-softness do not get the closure they deserve, but Marnie did and it was so satisfying.
Grady was frustrating at times with all his very human feelings, but once he worked through them I thought he was incredible. I read way too many thrillers, so I kept spinning theories about what actually caused the accident, but thankfully I was wrong because anything else would have taken away from the story.
All the side characters were so precious and I loved how full the entire story felt. It was beautiful and I cannot wait to read everything Jessica writes.

Every Chance After by Jessica Sherry is a very cute story with lovable characters!
This romance had me losing sleep. I couldn’t stop once I started.
I loved these characters! They are both such relatable characters!
One thing I really did enjoy was the message this story delivers. Simply put it was amazing.
Thank You NetGalley and Jessica Sherry for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!

Marina is a cheerful, succesful young woman, or, how she likes to call herself 'The Queen of Lost Causes and Second Chances'. She didn't have it easy in life with her sick mom where she needed to step up and take care of herself AND her parent to just survive the day. But then she found a job and love of her life who she was going to marry, have a nice house and a few children with. It was like a Cinderella-dream-came-true.
Everything was going great and smooth until her wedding day when an accident happened. It crashed her whole career, her body, perfect relationship and a chance to have a new, perfect family. Was it that perfect though?
The accident was caused by a grumpy vet, who just made a small mistake. This mistake costed a lot and he doesn't think he will ever forgive himself. But maybe this accident just saved them both?
Two broken people, two broken stories of unfortunate events, loss and grief. Will they let the bad feelings consume them or will they try to build something new, go on and create something new and wonderful instead of staying in the past?
It is a beautiful story about going out of the comfort zone and letting ourselves be happy even if we do not think we deserve it.
Second chances at love and second chances at life. It's a mix of many various characters and all of their flaws and feelings in a world where a lot of bad people try (or tried) to make them small just because they do not fit into the frames of 'perfect society'. I loved all of them and i would love to see more. Found family is one of my favourite tropes!
It would be a 5 star read but i feel like it should be a little shorter. i found the last 20% of the book really slow and i catched myself just skimming through the pages waiting for something to happen. But i really enjoyed the whole story anyway..

I absolutely LOVED this one! It’s a SLOW BURN, and one of those stories that just can’t be rushed. The connection between the two main characters was just so sweet and raw, and I fell in love with them. The second that man braided her hair, I was a goner…. 🥰 There’s a whole cast of great characters and I enjoyed being around them all.
💕💕💕💕
How this book only has 70 something reviews on goodreads is crazy?! Jessica Sherry is now an auto buy author for me, and now I’m off to read her backlist. 🥰

Absolutely loved this book it was a 5 star for me. The characters are believable and heartfelt. I loved the age gap and the bantering back and forth between the love interest Marina and Grady. The setting was also another part of this book that grasped my heart it was beautiful on page. Would recommend this book to anyone.

This was a beautiful and emotional book that I will think about long after closing the cover. Jessica Sherry was able to create multidimensional characters first and foremost. The romance and story of found family that occur out of them was a masterclass.
Marina has always had to put on a brave face. Her motto is “No frowns, no fears, no tears.” When her life is irrevocably altered, the only person who she feels safe around is the one who served as the catalyst for her life changing.
As for the MMC, induct Grady Tripp into the Grumpy MMC Hall of Fame alongside Beckett Porter and Cade Eaton.
As an aside, this has one of my favourite ever romantic subplot between two side characters. Peter + Marigold = sweetness overload.

I was really hoping to love this one more but I just don’t think it was for me. While reading the description I was really interested in it but it didn’t follow through in my opinion. I didn’t feel that motivated to pick this up while reading and I don’t know the exact reason why. It felt a little choppy to me in the writing and some of the characters were just annoying. Ashes whole family was awful and stuck around for too long. I also was just not a fan of the way she forgave her mom so fast it felt like the explanation of what her mom did and her showing and forgiving her immediately was just an unnecessary point. Overall it wasn’t horrible there were still some enjoyable parts but just not a favorite for me.

Brought together by the worst circumstances, Marnie and Grady can’t help but gravitate towards each other, part guilt and part something more. It’s a truly beautiful story about finding love in the darkest places and learning to forgive yourself. I love found family books and this one delivered incredibly well.
*I received an ARC of this book, this is my honest opinion*

Really enjoyed this one. The vibe felt real, not too cheesy like some others. I liked how the characters actually grow, not just fall in love and that's it. Marnie and Grady both had some deep stuff going on, but it didn’t feel too heavy. Just enough to keep me hooked. Writing was smooth and easy to follow. Also the side characters were so cute and fun. I wasn’t expecting much but ended up liking it way more than planned. Definitely made me want to check out more from this author. Thank you so much to the author and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book early. I’m sharing my thoughts voluntarily and with genuine appreciation

Marnie Strange’s wedding day to Ashe was meant to bring her the happily ever after she has been waiting forever for. As the adored son of the affluent owners of Sunny’s Beach Market, where Marnie works, her dream of belonging to a family is finally within her reach. When she is involved in a car accident caused by Grady Tripp, her dream is torn apart. However, Marnie believes that she is equally to blame. Yet Grady’s guilt means that he will stick to Marnie and help her in all ways that he can. To Marnie, he is a glimmer of light for her, even if he is eternally grumpy with others. A divorced workaholic, he returned to Seagrove two years ago to start over in his veterinary practice and help on his family’s farm. Yet as he spends time with Marnie, an attraction grows, but both are conflicted. Will Grady’s amends lead him to fall in love with the one woman he could never feel he deserves? Will Marnie ever redefine her sense of family and trust her heart to a man whose guilt might be the only thing keeping him by her side?
A sweet romance between two people who think only of others. They are so caught up in making the other feel better that they in part, oblivious to their feelings for each other. It was lovely to see Marnie in a positive relationship with someone who had the maturity to see her for who she was rather than Ashe, who is led in his decision-making largely by his mother. I thought Grady’s family were such great characters who couldn’t help their interfering ways.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’m often hesitant to read books by a new to me author, but I truly loved this book and will definitely be reading more by her! The plot was unique and kept me hooked throughout the entirety. The characters went through so many hard things both on their own and also together, but I really appreciated the way they grew as individuals and were able to lean on each other to get through it. There are also so many fun side characters that really kept me entertained constantly!!
