I’ve never read a book from this author before and I had not read really any kind of book where the MMC and FMC were musicians and one a fan. It took a while for me to get into the book. It was slow paced but it gradually got better and I ended up enjoying the story.

This is the 3rd book in an interconnected standalone series of rockstar romance. I did not read the prior books and didn’t need to. I would rate this as 3.5 stars. It is a fast paced read, even though the storyline itself isn’t my favorite. It is well written. A lot of this book has focus around the main character’s participation in a fanatic website/chat with the focus of a band. So there’s lots of talk about a server. For me personally it’s just not something I have much interest with, but people who enjoy that would probably like this. There was an attempt with witty banter with using big words of the day, for me I didn’t enjoy that at all.

the dialogue and smiles came off the page from the start. i was smiling even from the blurb! and i love a book where from almost literally the first sentence im in,invested and just know its going to be a good one. and this one did that for me. can i explain that feeling, can i tell you exactly why? nope. but books are magic. books are truly magic and so thats all we ever really need to know. and when we get a new one offered to us by fab authors like Mary we are reminded of just how important they are to us.
i loved the premise for this book and it was told to perfection giving me everything i wanted from it going in. and a whole lot more besides that too. there was unexpected smiles coming from me alot. im just glad i didn't need to be reading this in public. the constant upward turn of my mouth might ave embarrassed me a wee bit.
the characters in this book are just cool, lovely people. the type you'd want in your own life. which surprised me because i assume it would be perhaps more unreachable celeb type characters.
Layla was such a light for me. i loved who she was and what she got up to. her fan girl site was such a funny side shoot to her character. and i could really imagine what she was thinking and going through at the point of her secret coming out. cringe!
Shane was also really refreshing and i also really felt his fears about how and why any girl would ever come to him over the others.
their interactions and development was a joy to read. and again too many smiles were coming from me. what they saw in each other especially how Layla saw into just who he was was just gorgeous. and as i got more loved up with the pair i was getting increasingly worried how this could go wrong! almost peeking round pages i was not wanting things to go wrong.
this was part of a series. and there was others from her series in this one but they never made it so you felt out of place or like you couldnt follow. not at all. i think you might like to go and read the others after this one though because they are just as good.

This series continues to keep my interest (a) the sex scenes are good (b) there are some cute moments (c) you get to see inside the world of celebrities and how public scrutiny is intrusive

What does not work for me is, the angst seems a little contrived, and the relationships a tad bit immature. A lot can be solved with some good communication.

Loved this book! This whole series is fantastic! In this novel, Layla and Shane meet and are immediately smitten with each other. Their romance is both sweet and sexy, even as they both are dealing with lots of personal baggage.

I was charmed by them and totally invested in their story, wanting them to get a HEA ending. The author is on my must read authors' list.
