A sweet little book on how to be thankful. The artwork reminds me of the old Nickelodeon show "Doug."

Maggies marvelous half birthday is a very cute read for your little ones, very easy to read and stunning pictures throughout the book.
The book it's self was about being kind and helping other people. But also being greatful/thankful for what you already have when things dont go to plan.
Very engaging book for the little ones with a hidden meaning. Will definitely enjoy with my children again

I really enjoyed the imagination and fun that went into this! The MC celebrates a half-birthday, which turns into a wild and creative journey that celebrates individuality and the joy of small things. Easy to accept the reminder that every day can be a little magical, if we make it so. Perfect for spirited children!

This was such a sweet book! The ending actually made me cry. I really adored Maggie and her mom trying to make the day special for her. The little pictures were cute and I think this is really great for single moms to read to their kids. I adored the message and I really think it was just overall so sweet.

Such a cute story of helpfulness, gratitude, and even a bit of Mom guilt (of which I am familiar). Cute rhyming and illustrations, too.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my review copy! Would recommend!

Unlike other books from this author, this didn't rhyme as well as it might, but it does at least make for an engaging read still. It's about Maggie, whose mother is trying her best to give her girl a great half-birthday for hitting the heady heights of four and a half. Unfortunately when their trip out after school comes across so many people in need of instant, quick-thinking help – well, it actually slows things down quite a lot. Surely Maggie is not going to be happy?

This then is a story to show the benefits and cosy warm feeling to be had from helping others, and from making simple and small sacrifices. It's the kind of read I tend to have an easy cynicism about, normally, but not here – this is unarguably a good thing, and while an obvious lesson in manners, morals and kindness, is still fun to turn to. It's a colourful and engaging four stars.

A very sweet children’s book about the importance of kindness and gratitude. I read this to my one year old and he adored the colours mix and kept trying to steal the screen from me. Thank you NetGalley for the free ARC.

I was immediately drawn in by the colorful illustrations on the cover. We’re always told not to judge a book by its cover—and while that’s generally wise advice, I’m glad I did in this case. The illustrations are whimsical and rich with color, perfectly capturing the joyful tone of the story. The playful rhymes throughout made reading even more engaging, and there was even a surprise little “I Spy” activity at the end that added an extra layer of fun.

The story itself follows a little girl and her mother on a mission to celebrate her half-birthday. With big plans and high hopes for the perfect day, they set out full of excitement. But along the way, they encounter people in need and choose to help, one kind gesture at a time. Although their carefully laid plans take a backseat, the heart of the story lies in the realization that a day spent together—with love, laughter, and compassion—is truly the perfect day after all.

Overall, this is a charming read with a heartfelt message and beautiful illustrations. It’s a lovely reminder for little readers (and grown-ups too!) that joy can be found not just in celebration, but in kindness and shared moments.

Thank you to NetGalley, BooksGoSocial, and Shea Peterson for the privilege of receiving this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
