I thought this was an refreshing and interesting novel about ancient Egypt and the modern day. The novel kept my interest from the beginning and I would highly recommend the read.

I enjoyed the history in this book, and the theory given is unique and interesting. I did not enjoy the background noise of the story. There’s many references to things that happened previously, so many I thought I missed a book but no this is the 1st book of the series. I had no clue what was going on. I did notice a lot of similarities in the politics to current real life. #TheIgnobleLie #NetGalley

An ambitious novel, The Ignoble Lie stumbles a bit out of the gate as we're introduced to a wide cast of characters from across the globe. It takes some time to find its footing, but once it does, the story moves along at a brisk, but not overwhelming pace.
Despite being largely very readable, there are several heavy info dumps coupled with some insufferable interactions between the lead characters.
The research and historical aspects of the story are the most engaging. They kept me going and ultimately made this an enjoyable read.
If you're a fan of political/religion-based thrillers and particularly enjoy the journey more than a perfect endgame, this is worth checking out.
Thank you to Netgalley and Melange Books for the ARC. Opinions are my own.

A political scandal, a kidnapping with a strange twist, conspiracies, a secret society and the hunt for a treasure in a race against the clock this book has it all! The story was really good, but I didn't really connect with Zady and Scott. Zady is quite abrasive in her approach to everything and Scott comes across as indecisive and self-doubting, although he does come into his own when the chips are down! But, overall, I really enjoyed the story!
