I had written a long review as I was reading, but honestly I’m just confused what the point of this book was. Felt like I lost quite a few hours of my time. The main character doesn’t do.. a single thing? Like he literally has no problem letting the narrative be fully in control, the entire book I had no idea why we were following that guy? Would have been more interesting from the point of view of the aliens honestly.

The pace is weird, the story goes nowhere, it’s both extremely trope and yet doesn’t follow the natural beats of this type of stories? Just not something I would recommend.

Normally the sort of book I enjoy. However I felt it was poorly written and didn’t pull me into the world building. Some other readers enjoyed it much more. Thank you to #netgalley and the publisher for an ARC.
