Revolve, is the next installment of the Off the Ice series, and I can’t stop stress how much I love this series! This sports romance features Dylan, a former ice hockey player and Sierra, a figure skater, who are forced to partner together on the ice.
The chemistry between the characters was palpable and boy did they make me blush. And the banter, the banter they shared was *chefs kiss* it had me smiling like Cheshire and it felt genuine to these characters. I really loved how their story unfolded, especially since he falls for her first—I enjoyed that dynamic, especially watching him evolve and reform his playboy image.
The theme of found family is also beautifully woven into the story. You get to see how the characters support one another, which adds a lovely emotional layer to the narrative.

Khabra has this wonderful way of capturing the raw emotions of the characters, making their struggles with mental health and relationships feel authentic and heartfelt. It’s not just a sports romance; it’s layered with depth that truly resonates.

If you’re a fan of sports romances or just looking for something with great character development, "Revolve" is absolutely one to check out. It’s a fun read that hits you right in the feels. Definitely recommend the Off the Ice series and can't wait to read more! Keeping my fingers crossed for the next book to be Kian 'the cat daddy' Ishida's story.

⋆˚࿔ i wish i could read it for the first time all over again because this book is unforgettable! easily the best book i’ve ever read. i genuinely wish i could turn back time just to experience it all over again. every chapter had me hooked and i truly enjoyed every single moment of it.

sierra stole my heart. her journey through healing from struggling with her body image to navigating the pain of her ice skating past was written so well. and then there’s dylan. the typical college jock who parties and hookups with every girl until he meets sierra. he completely shattered my expectations and climbed his way to the top of my book boyfriend list lol. like the way he was there for sierra during her anxiety attacks felt so gentle and genuine. the scene where sierra knits gloves for him because he doesn’t wear any on the rink, when dylan says he doesn’t like his birthday but sierra gets him to like it because she does something special for him. those moments scream pure love. and please, that dance scene on the porch to "Wondering Why" by The Red Clay Strays was utterly swoonworthy. sweet, tender and so cinematic.

what made their relationship so special for me was the chemistry and banter. it flowed from playful and flirty to deeply emotional in such a natural way. their connection grew naturally. also their intimate scenes were surprisingly spicy (in the best way) but still felt real and meaningful. like i wasn’t expecting that from sierra haha but it worked perfectly with her growth and trust in dylan. they both are just so in love from the way they care for each other and all.

eventhough this is book 3 in a series, it works perfectly as a standalone. you won’t feel lost if you haven’t read the first two books which i really appreciated because sometimes you just want to jump into that one book without any homework.

Thank you to Bal Khabra, Bloomsbury Publishing & Net Galley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

I was so excited to be given this e-Arc, so firstly a huge thank you to Bloomsbury Publishing Plc.

This has to be my favourite book out of the Off the Ice series. Our main man is hot headed, cocky hockey player Dylan, who all the ladies love…. including me, I’m actually first in line! The things that this man says had me kicking my feet so much. Am I wanting to say he’s one of my fav MMCs this year, yes, do I say this about every MMC I read, also yes.

Our girl is ice skater Sierra, who after a traumatic fall on the ice, needs lots of TLC and somebody who will help piece her confidence back together. Sierra is a really sweet, and I really liked her, and her fondness for knitting winter accessories when she’s stressed.

This story was just so heartwarming, I really enjoyed every second of it and it’s a huge 5 stars from me. If you’ve read book 1 and 2 of the Off the Ice series, all our usual favourites are there including Aidan, Summer. My standout favourite character for this book is Kian, and I really hope he gets his own story next… please Bal Khabra… and thanks!

Thank you to Bloomsbury Publishing Plc (UK & ANZ) and NetGalley for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Forgive me, but I didn’t remember who Dylan was, but I had a good time with this, and I really enjoyed this more than I did with Spiral.

It did take me a little while just to warm up and kind of get a feel for things and to begin with Dylan playing into the stereotype of the cocky, playboy, hockey player. He had been acting out over his parents toxic relationship for awhile, and when he fails a drug test, he gets kicks off the team.

In order to reinstate him back into hockey he is given a lifeline where he’s paired up with Sierra, who is a figure skater.

Did this have small similarities to Icebreaker, yeah, kinda, but it was different also in its own right and story.

It was also quite heavy on the emotional trauma that was shown from both Sierra and Dylan. I will say that they also spent quite a lot of time in their head just with their own personal traumas insecurities; Sierra especially.

Something that I have noticed with this author (and I’m not sure if it’s just me) but is how she portrays the leading female character; they’re very layered individuals, who have a level of insecurity and it isn’t until the MMC comes along, which they see how they viewed in another person‘s eyes; take for example; Summer hating hockey because of her dad, and Aiden being a hockey player, she fearing that he would choose hockey over her and not put her first. Sage being abandoned by her parents at a young age, and having to raise her younger brother, and fearing Eli would do the same. Sierra being abandoned and discarded by her old skating partner; Dylan giving up hockey, which in itself felt abit left field, and thus fearing he would do turnout to be like her ex’s partner; it’s almost like they’re coasting until they hear of another perspective of themselves. I can’t quite explain it, how flaky it sometimes comes across.

Towards the end the pacing was a little rocky, for me, at least; touching on Dylan decided to give up hockey, having played it for so long, and quite literally being his life, and now something that he wants to now give up; I think he described it as something as doing it out of a reaction because his dad didn’t like it, which again just kind of goes back to the whole toxic environment only with his father, and just with the whole parents situation. And also his parents vow renewal ceremony. That whole conflict didn’t quite make sense to me. Oh, and there was an injury that Dylan sustained right before he was to be competing with Sierra, again, it didn’t really make sense and felt glossed over.

Nonetheless, I did like the romantic aspect that developed between Dylan and Sierra, for never being someone’s boyfriend before, he done very well! It looks that maybe, Scarlett and Kian’s book may be next, and they sound very intriguing; coach’s daughter and hockey player! I’m very curious about seeing how that’ll pan out as I’m sure Kilner won’t be very happy! 😂

I’ve read every book in the Off the Ice series and Revolve is hands down my favourite. No question. Dylan Donovan has officially claimed his spot as one of my favourite hockey romance MMCs ever! He is flirty, soft, and lowkey a hopeless romantic and I LOVED HIM for it.

This one follows Sierra Romanova, a figure skating legend recovering from a brutal injury, and dylan our hockey’s resident bad boy with a mouth that doesn’t quit and a past that keeps him benched. When Sierra needs a partner to get back on the ice, Dylan volunteers… and their chemistry is everything.

It’s got all the tropes I eat up:
❄️ Ice skater x hockey player
🖤 Black cat x black cat energy
🏒 He falls first
💬 Peak banter
🧠 Real mental health rep
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Found family

Bal Khabra’s writing is just so fun, witty, snappy, and emotionally layered without ever feeling too heavy. She handled topics like panic attacks and emotional burnout so well, especially through Sierra. Their emotional journeys were messy and real, which added so much depth to the romance.

Also the cameos?? I loved seeing Summer, Kian, and Aiden again it made the world feel connected and lived-in. And don’t get me started on the soft moments: movie nights, Tangled references

Please. I’m begging. Give us Kian’s book next 😭

Thank you to NetGalley and the Bloomsbury for the eARC!

Revolve is a slow-burn kind of story that brings together two talented skaters who have a lot to prove to both themselves and each other.

Initially, it took me some time to warm to Sierra. It seemed like straight off the bat she’d decided she didn’t like Dylan without even giving him a chance. But as the story unfolded, her guarded nature and past trauma made this more understandable. Dylan, on the other hand, had me from the start. He’s the friend that’s the life of the party, always ready to get into some kind of mischief when in reality he’s trying to stay light out on the outside while everything is heavy on the inside.

When a failed drug test has Dylan suspended from his NCAA hockey team and threatens his future, he returns to his roots. Figure skating. Sierra, who’s returning to the ice after a near career-ending injury, is less than pleased to be paired up with someone she only sees as a hockey player.

Their relationship builds slowly and naturally. They earn each others trust, move past their pain and learn that to love someone else, they have to heal the person they are. They learn they don’t have to do that alone.

A couple of things I’d wished were slightly different: Sierra’s parents were quite involved at the beginning, and I wished we seen more of them and how their own concerns change as Sierra gets stronger. Secondly, Dylan’s family arc felt rushed.

Overall I loved the main characters and how their relationship developed and I really loved the side characters too. I need Kian to have his own book.

Read this book for:
⛸️ Ice Hockey X Figure Skating
🏒He falls first
⛸️ Black cat x Black cat
🏒Mental health rep
⛸️Reformed play boy
🏒Found family

Synopsis
Sierra Romanova is a glittering legend in figure skating—until a disastrous fall sends her dreams and confidence spiraling. Now back at Dalton University for a final shot at glory, she’s ready to prove she’s still got it. The only problem? Dylan Donovan, the hockey bad boy with a talent for trouble and a mouth that never quits.

After getting benched from hockey, Dylan's stuck haunting the rink without a stick in hand…until Sierra needs a pairs partner. He might not know a salchow from a spin, but Dylan’s more than happy to lace up for a front-row seat to her comeback—and maybe rile her up while he’s at it.

Sparks fly, blades clash, and feelings thaw as this unlikely duo finds themselves skating toward something far more dangerous than gold: falling for each other.

My Thoughts
After reading all three books in the Off the Ice series, I have to admit this one wasn’t my favourite—Spiral still holds that title for me. That said, I really did enjoy Revolve, and it definitely gave me Icebreaker vibes, which I also loved.

What stood out most to me was the way the author portrayed the mental health struggles of both Sierra and Dylan. Sierra’s experiences, in particular, were written with such rawness and authenticity that I found them incredibly relatable. Her panic attacks and emotional barriers felt real, not dramatised, and that grounded the story in a way I deeply appreciated. Dylan’s internal battles were also compelling, and together their emotional journeys added a layer of depth to what could’ve been just another sports romance.

The banter between Sierra and Dylan was a highlight—they had great chemistry. I also enjoyed the cameos and connections to characters from previous books like Summer, Kian, and Aiden. It made the world of the series feel cohesive and lived-in, which I always appreciate in interconnected standalones.

However, the ending didn’t quite land for me. It felt rushed and veered a bit too far into the unrealistic—particularly with the last-minute injury and still competing. That moment broke the sense of believability the rest of the book worked so hard to maintain. Sierra’s reaction to Dylan’s decision felt out of character as well. She was oddly okay with something that, realistically, would have significant emotional and physical consequences. From two elite athletes, I expected more discipline, more awareness of their limits, and honestly, more respect for their bodies and careers. While some might view Dylan’s choice as romantic, it struck me as reckless.

Overall, while it didn’t dethrone Spiral as my favorite in the series, this was still a fun and emotionally resonant read. I’d absolutely recommend it—especially if you’ve read and enjoyed the first two books. The character development, mental health representation, and witty dynamic between the leads make it a worthy addition to the series.

Thank you so much to Bloomsbury Publishing Plc (UK & ANZ) and NetGalley for this ARC.

Please let the next book be Kian’s book!

I received an e-ARC from NetGalley of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was absolutely desperate to get my hands on this ARC after gobbling up the other two earlier this year, so I was extremely excited to be able to read it early. Thanks to the publishers for accepting my request!

There were aspects of Sierra’s character that were WAY too relatable as a previous figure skater. Converting a big strong hockey boy (which actually skaters will know aren’t quite as common as these books make out) to be a pairs skater is always an inner dream, so this little escapist book really felt like living a fantasy.

Always, great characters and fun scenes, lovely to see some familiar faces!

Another great read from Bal Khabra!!

I loved Sierra and Dalton, their romance was beautiful. The way Dalton strived to understand and listen to hear was amazing.

perfect perfect absolutely perfect !!
i love everything about this, dylan is my favorite dalton boy and seeing his fall for sierra was so heartwarming and fun (and hot 😋😋)
i also loved how much sports was a part of this, the figure skating aspect of it was incredible!! i love sports and one of the things that annoy me about sports romance is the lack of sport, but with this everything was so on point, i loved reading about them practicing and competing.
the romance was developed so so so well, i was screaming giggling, kicking my feet !!!

i love the side characters and how they play in the plot, im hoping book four is about kian please please!!

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC of this book! Bal Khabra hits gold with another amazing addition to this series! The sharp whit between the two main characters is amazing but also the connection mixed in with the slow unraveling of their past. It was beautifully written had me rooting for their quiet love!! Can’t wait to see what is in store for us next!

In Revolve, the last of the 'off the ice' trilogy, we follow Sierra and Dylan as they navigate family, friends, and history.

Sierra has had a terrible accident and has been out of the ice skating game for some time - she is looking to get back in the game and needs a new partner

Dylan, an ice hockey player with anger issues has been banned from the game after failing a drugs test. to get back on the ice he takes up figure skating

and thus is the tale of these two characters as they gradually fall in love.

i loved this entire series and this was a great final instalment. it was really sweet watching them get together and bringing out the best in each other

My favourite book of this series so far!!😍
I was gripped from page one - what an opening scene?!?

Both main characters are sooo likeable in their own individual ways. We saw Dylan’s softer side which I loved and I think Sierra was a beautiful FMC💗

Also the tension in this book fit perfectly I lovedddd the spicy scenes, it added a new level of intimacy which I thoroughly enjoyed. This was also a classic enemies to lovers story!!

Kian and his army of cats were a joy in this book😂 I will always love the comradery of an ice hockey romance, it’s a guilty pleasure of mine!!

Such an amazing ARC thank you so much!! I will be raving about this around publication day💜

Revolve is the third instalment in Bal Khabra’s interconnected standalone hockey romance series, taking place at Dalton University. In this one, we follow Sierra. She’s a figure skater whose career was almost permanently ended when her previous pair partner dropped her at a competition. Now, after a year of recovery, she’s trying to make it back in the ice, but struggles to find a new skating partner. She’s trying her hardest not to be perceived as difficult so that anyone will take a chance on her. Turns out, the one person willing to try skating with her actually doesn’t want the Sierra that’s easy to work with. Dylan Donovan is a little going a little wild right now - he’s in emotional turmoil because of some family matters and lets it out through extensive partying, which ultimately leads to his suspension from the ice hockey team. To fill his time and prove he’s not just reckless, he becomes Sierra’s skating partner. Maybe he also has a crush on her, but who’s to say…

I enjoyed myself a fair bit reading this. I didn’t love Khabra’s previous two books, mostly cause I felt like they lacked some emotional depth and chemistry between the main characters. Both aspects I think are improved upon here. Initially, I was a bit hesitant as it felt like it might again be moving too quickly to really get me on board, but actually there ended up being a lot of down time between significant events in the relationship of our two characters. It felt like they were circling each other more and moving closer slowly, rather than running at each other without getting to know each other. Like with the two other previous books, I do think this could’ve been a bit shorter, but I ultimately enjoyed the evolving romance between Sierra and Dylan.

Thank you so much to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book.

Bal Khabra's second book "Spiral' was a 5 star read for me so i was so excited for book 3...

I can confirm that Bal has done it again... writing not just your average sports romance book but something with depth and hidden meanings which I adore.

Revolve was an easy 5 star read and I really hope we have more to come in this series!

🏒 Hockey player x figure skater
⛸️ Forced proximity
💜 Slow burn romance
😊 Reformed playboy

Dylan is the classic hockey playboy—at least on the surface. He’s dealing with family issues which cause him to make a huge mistake career wise when he meets Sierra who will turn his world upside down in the best possible way.

Sierra is a figure skater recovering from a serious injury that shook her confidence. She wants to return to the ice but doesn’t know how—until Dylan steps in. Her struggles and growth felt incredibly real and I connected with the character and her hesitancy to let people in and allow them to help her.

The chemistry between Dylan and Sierra was amazing—full of tension, banter, and emotional depth. I loved how they supported each other through their personal challenges and truly brought out the best in one another.

The found family friend group also deserves a shoutout—they played such an important and heartwarming role in the story and I loved hearing about the characters from books 1 and 2.

Huge thanks to @bloomsburypublishing, @netgalley, and @authorbalkhabra for the ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinions.

I don't think I've laughed and cried this equally at a book in a while. Revolve is full of emotions, trauma, heartbreak and strength, and is truly a book that has you routing for the characters from the get go.
I love when authors write books with relatable characters who are learning to heal from their past experiences, it always makes the story feel more raw and hopeful.

Bal Khabra knows how to write a beautiful romance book full of powerful loveable woman. My goodness does every book she write make me constantly smile throughout (even through the tears).
