Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Revolve is, hands down, my favourite of the series so far. There’s something truly magical about the relationship between Dylan and Sierra — it’s the heart of this book, and it completely swept me away.

I adored Dylan with my whole heart. The way he gives Sierra the space to unapologetically be herself, even when she’s struggling to do that on her own, was beautiful to read. Their banter is exactly my cup of tea, sharp, flirty, and just the right amount of mean. They challenge each other in all the right ways, and I loved watching them push one another to grow. It's rare that I fully connect with both leads in a book, but with Dylan and Sierra, I truly did. Dylan putting on a front, trying not to burden those around him, was deeply relatable, while Sierra’s fiery, bold energy in a world constantly trying to tone her down felt powerfully real.

Another standout for me was how this book portrayed sport and healing — the intensity of both, and how they can intertwine. Bal handles serious topics like PTSD, panic attacks, and alcoholism (though not explicitly named, it’s clear Dylan leans on alcohol as a coping mechanism) with sensitivity and authenticity. There’s a real honesty in the way these issues are written, and it never feels forced or performative.

While I did find the pacing a bit uneven in places, it didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment. Revolve is an emotionally rich, character-driven story that left me feeling deeply connected to these characters, and I’m genuinely excited to see where Bal takes the series next.

Boy how i love whe authors write figure skating romance books, im gooey for them every single time i read one( WHICH UNFORTUNATELY IS NOT A LOT WE NEED MORE). And reading about a figure skater and a hockey player?? Double jackpot!!!
Black cat female who is closed off because people keep hurting her and is afraid to trust?? And a golden retriever who really sees her? It was the perfect combination.
I loved how the relationship progressed naturally and the more they spent time together they saw each other it was the cutest thing to see🥺

Thank you to the publisher for the arc

Two and a half stars.

Sierra Romanova is an Olympic hopeful whose figure skating dreams were crushed after a lift went wrong and left her in a coma, with scarring, and PTSD. She's trying to get back on the ice but she keeps getting flashbacks, added to which her boyfriend/skating partner not only dropped her literally but also figuratively personally AND professionally. Also, this late in the season there are no male skaters available to partner with.

Dylan Donovan is the good-looking party frat boy of the hockey team, but a weak moment after he hears some family news has led to a failed drugs test which gets him kicked off the team and puts his career in the NHL in jeopardy. A little known fact about Dylan is that he and his little sister Ada used to compete in figure skating, until they realised the person they were trying to impress never bothered to show up.

A deal is done, Dylan can skate ... if he agrees to partner Sierra.

This is a riff on the 1990s classic film The Cutting Edge and subsequent spin-offs. Its an opposites attract, enemies from the get-go, YA/NA romance. There was nothing wrong with the story, although I'm guessing this is part of a series as there seemed to be a lot of things that happened 'off stage', presumably in previous books, other than a lack of skating.

However, as the book went on I became more disturbed by the intimate scenes. I 'get' that possessiveness and being unable to keep your hands off someone is meant to be attractive but it just screamed red flag to me. Dylan tells her what to wear (and what not), not to answer her phone, he talks about breaking through anything to get to her, ruining her pussy (ouch), he slaps her thighs, pulling her fistful of her hair and yanking her back, saying she fucks like a porn star, and talks about stuffing her full of his cock - and a lot of this happens in just one scene! I 100% accept I am not the target demographic for this novel but this sort of thing worries me because it excuses abusive and controlling behaviour as 'love' and places unrealistic expectations on women.

So what would have been a pleasant enough three and a half stars got downgraded to two and a half stars because of the red flags and also because there was too much angst. She's got PTSD and doesn't think anyone would like her if they knew what she was really like. His parents are in an abusive relationship and he doesn't feel that anyone would like him unless he plays the class clown.

I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley.

I think I read this in basically two sittings; it was an entertaining, easy read and I love a good comeback story.

Sierra and Dylan were such a great match. I always relate to FMCs who are fiery, strong-willed and stubborn to most of the world, but secretly soft inside and can show it to their person. the way Dylan never asked for Sierra to be anything but herself, and how he gave her enough space while remaining a steady, patient presence made him perfect for her.

now a few things I wasn’t that keen on. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but sometimes the spice felt a bit unnecessary. also, towards the end, I was worried about the signs pointing to a very late third act break up, but luckily it didn’t end up happening.

this book was exactly what I needed for my romance pick between romantasy reads – a sweet sports romance with great chemistry and loveable side characters that I could binge.

thank you to the author, Bloomsbury Publishing and Netgalley for the e-arc in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Revolve by Bal Khabra
⅘ stars

I have been lucky to receive the ARCs for the first two books, and I loved them so I came to request the 3rd because, well, why not?

This was the 3rd book that i have devoured from Khabra. It was equally as good as the the other two books. It didn’t lack or become slow paced. It was straight in there, and not just romance either. The deep dived into the intensity that surrounds sports.

It was well written, fantastic characters and chemistry to die for. An easy and well paced read for sure,

I have liked all of the books in this series. Sierra and Dylan had a good amount of chemistry, I did find myself feeling like I missed crucial conversations and discussions. This meant that it felt a little surface level at times but I still liked the story and both these characters!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing this ARC!
I think the main thing that I loved about this book was definitely the chemistry between the characters. This book reminded me of a movie I saw when I was a teenager called "The Cutting Edge", the plot was the same but much more intense.
I absolutely loved how unapologetically it leans into the intensity of sports and healing. The skating scenes are vivid, the tension is thick, and the romance? Amazing.
There’s something magnetic about watching him evolve—not just for Sierra, but for himself.
In the end some scenes felt longer than they needed to be. Still, none of that dulled the emotional depth or the fiery chemistry that kept me flipping pages.
I have 80% of my body cover by burn marks and the difficulty she had to find her pleasure is something i can connect and i love the way Bal Khabra wrote that scenes. Thank you for teaching girls all over the world that we are beautiful regardless of our scars...that this only adds value to what we already have and does not devalue us.

I absolutely devoured this book, i loved both the main characters and the plot from the start! They had good chemistry throughout and great banter. I appreciated the anxiety/ptsd representation that was featured in the book it made the FMC relatable to me. Would highly recommend this book and this series to anyone who needs a good spicy hockey/ figure skating romance

Thanks Bloomsbury and NetGalley for the ARC of Revolve by Bal Khabra. If Bal writes it, I will read it. I loved Spiral and her off the ice series… the story between Sierra and Aiden- their enemies( rivals) to lovers trope really had me so caught up. Bal is my auto buy author and I am really hoping for stories of the rest of the friend group.

When Sierra finds herself in desperate need of a new partner, the only person who can match her skill is none other than the cocky hockey player who refuses to cut her any slack.

When I tell you I couldn’t put this book down!! I. Could. Not. Put. This. Book. Down.

Sierra & Dylan’s story is the best in the series for me! (Until we get Kains book.. I just know that’s gonna be 10/10)

I went into this thinking it would be a light hearted enemies to lovers.. and I’ve never been more glad to be proven wrong.

So many parts of this book had me emotional but the friendship between Dylan & Aidan, Aidan coming back and speaking to coach’s etc for his friend. 🫶🏼

Sierra is a baddie and I’m obsessed. When she gives Dylan a drink at the party 😉 You’re in for a treat.

Cannot wait for yous to read this one!! It’s the best.

Sierra and Dylan, both skaters. He's a hockey player, she's a figure skater, both have issues relating to past experiences. When they are paired up as a figure skating team they both have to face those issues . A raunchy, feel good story, ideal holiday reading.

I loved this book judt like her others and this didn't disappoint. I loved the characters and how they developed throughout the book. Their energy and banter between them was so heartwarming to see. Both characters had been thoroughly developed and you could really tell how much emotion they both felt towards each other.

unfortunately this wasn’t for me, i read collide by bal khabra when it came out last year and loved it, it’s still one of my favourite books today, i requested revolve before reading spiral, i read spiral and ended up not liking it unfortunately which made me reluctant to start this book. i definitely loved some parts of this, however i just couldn’t get behind all the lying ‘for her benefit’

4 stars!!

I absolutely loved this book!! I think that the characters were both written so well, I am the same age as them and found them extremely relatable and true to the age group.
The whit and the banter between Dylan’ & Sierra is unmatched, they are so fun and entertaining to read but I loved that they had such an emotional connection as well as a physical. It was almost like they were able to see inside eachothers heads without even saying a word. I love how fleshed out both characters were and also really appreciated how we got both backstories rather than focusing on one more than the other. The side characters were great and added comedic relief to render situations which I found so enjoyable! Thank you so much for the arc, I loved every second reading this book!

THIS WAS FIREEEE. BAL KHABRA WORKED SOME ABACADABRA. I really enjoyed this and am really thankful to the publishers for the ARC. It felt like they were more than just hockey player and figure skater but had fully fleshed out lives and personalities. Can't wait to see what's next in this world.

So I have to be honest… The figure skater, hockey player thing? Getting a bit overdone for me personally. HOWEVER (!!!!) I did enjoy Revolve. I live for a competitive FMC x any man who wants to compete with her romance arc, and this absolutely provided. Was it groundbreaking? Absolutely not. Was it still a fab read, with zingy banter and a whole lot of tension? Absolutely yes.

How do I move on!!! I’m just a sucker for the skating partners trope and then we add 2 black cats!! It’s just such a delicious mix. The romance was so SO SO good. Dare I say my favourite couple?

But don’t be fooled - this is an emotional punch to the stomach. You’ll be hugging your pillow and then turning on your tummy and kicking your feet x

DYLANNNNNNNN !!! That is all.
