I really enjoyed this book. I loved the dynamics between the two main characters and how their personalities worked so well together. The fake dating was written really well and I loved how the protectiveness was there all along. Their relationship was really nice and refreshing to read about, and I adored how they both brought out the best sides of each other and pushed each other to be who they really are, and become more confident with it!

Fun, flirty and romantic! Those are just a few words I would say to describe Dating Dr Love. The fake dating trope is one of my favourites and this book was a really enjoyable one. It was great getting to know the characters especially as they were both so likeable. It’s safe to say that they charmed me from the very beginning. Logan and Chloe may have clashed at first but they really did bring out the best in each other. It was lovely to see it all play out.

The story itself moved at a good pace and kept me invested throughout. It was at times lighthearted, made me smile and had both sweet and chemistry filled moments. While there is an instant attraction between the characters. There’s also an element of slow burn that worked really well too. I also thought the author did a wonderful job of bringing Chloe’s character to life and out of the shadow of her family.

Dating Dr Love was a delight to read and a brilliant escapist story for me!

This is a cute book squished into 190-something pages.

Celebrity vs. Surgeon
Fake Relationship
Supportive of each other
He falls first

Chloe Henry, from Medicine Royalty, is excited about getting a promotion, exception she found out that her #1 rival is playing politics that she is not. And they wanted her to join because of her family name, not because of her. Oh by the way, if you want the job, you need to go to this work retreat/conference.

Meanwhile, TV star Logan Broderick has just been caught in the next scandal. Causing enough ruckus and trouble that the creator of his hit show is threatening to write him off. Under the advisement of his agent, to lay low at a resort. They booked his hotel under McHenry, and of course the staff gave him 'Henry's' room. Henry-McHenry, right?

The paps were chasing a story after Logan, only to catch Chloe naked and that get plastered all over the dirty rags. How embarrassing! Chloe not only get side-eyed by her colleagues, her parents gave her a good tongue lashing. From there, the story really gets going.

We learned that Chloe's family are horrible people. Everyone of them expected her to fail, both in career and in life. And Logan being in public eye, everyone is waiting for him to fail so they can sell more magazines. These two people ended up learning the truth and started to appreciate each other, support each other, and boost each other.

These two are cute, I love how characters wanted to help each other out of love, and rather sacrifice themselves than to let the other person hurt. THat's the sweetest for me.

I did struggled with the pacing at the beginning, during the background, trying to connect was clunky. But as they meet, they started to learn about each other, it started to get fun. The banter, the events, and the support, it was great to watch. I did stay up late so I can finish and see how they come together. They are so cute!

Thank you NetGalley & Boldwood Books for the ARC.

Thank you for the opportunity to read this ARC. The blurb and premise sounded interesting, but unfortunately, this just wasn’t the right fit for me personally. The FMC gave me the ick right from the beginning and I just couldn’t vibe with this.

Diagnosis: career chaos...

Doctor Chloe Henry is a no-nonsense surgeon gunning for a promotion. All that stands in her way is her smug colleague, Doctor Johnathan Carson, who’s beloved by the board for his charm and for simply being a man. When a one-week medical conference promises her a chance to shine, Chloe packs her power suits and determination, ready to crush it—or at least avoid strangling Carson.

Take once a day...

Enter Logan Broderick, aka Doctor Dante Love, TV’s hottest (and most medically inaccurate) neurosurgeon-slash-plastic-surgeon. After yet another scandal involving booze, starlets, and bad decisions, Logan’s sent to the same hotel to lay low. But things go awry when Logan and Chloe literally crash into each other—half-naked—in her bathroom. Cue viral chaos.

Prescription: Romance!

To save face, Logan proposes they fake-date. She’s the real doctor to his fake one; he’s the PR boost she didn’t want. But as bickering turns to banter and sparks fly, Chloe wonders: can Dante Love save her?

My Opinion

Rachel Dove has written an entertaining novel. Dating Dr Love is a charming novel that had me hooked from the beginning. A fun, heart-warming romance. Rachel Dove is an author that I always enjoy reading and Dating Dr Love is a book that I would highly recommend.

Overall okay, i wanted to keep reading in the beginning, it was cute and fun. But after some time it got a bit boring. I had to skim through some parts, there were too many unnecessary and repetitive details.

The paragraphing was also super off. The story was interesting and could've been much better executed though.

A great little summer beach read!

I had a lot of fun reading this one and really enjoyed Logan and Chloe’s chemistry and their journey together!

It had some of my favourite tropes of close proximity and fake dating and I enjoyed the writing immensely for what it was a cute lighthearted romance.

She's a doctor in real life - a surgeon with a family of famous doctors - and he plays a doctor on TV. Chloe and Logan meet when the hotel he's been sent to to lay low mixes up his room with hers. There ends up being a picture of them taken by the paparazzi of Chloe in a towel and Logan with her. The fallout will be brutal for Logan's career and may affect Chloe's chance of heading the surgery department at the hospital where she works so a plan is hatched to fake a relationship. I really like this story and will look for more by this author.

Dating Dr. Love is a fake dating, enemies to lovers rom-com that follows Chloe Henry, a top surgeon trying to pry away from her family name. While fighting for a promotion she attends a medical conference.

Logan Broderick plays a famous hot doctor on Chloe's favorite show. They meet in a double booked hotel room and run straight into each other while she's wearing nothing but a towel! Unfortunately, the experience went viral forcing them into a PR stunt.

Logan and Chloe had great banter throughout the book and I was throughly surprised at the supportiveness of each other given Logan's reputation. This was a cute and fun summer read!

I picked this up because the blurb looked fun and I was looking for an easy, light hearted read, and that's what I got. The middle was a little jumpy and felt like some things were out of place, but overall it was a fun, quick read, which is exactly what I was looking for this summer. This is the first time I've read this author and I will definitely look for more.

📚 **Dating Dr Love** by Rachel Dove

**Genres:** Medical Romance / Rom‑Com
**Tropes:** Fake dating, forced proximity, enemies‑to‑lovers, dual POV

✅ Strengths

* **Engaging premise & sparking chemistry**

* A classic “real doctor meets fake doctor” scenario—Dr. Chloe Henry, a high-achieving surgeon, collides (literally) with TV actor Logan Broderick, who plays a doctor on screen. Their hotel-room meet-cute goes viral, setting up a stranded but sizzling fake-dating ordeal. The banter in this book is unmatched.

The fake dating trope is handled really well… the book strikes a great balance between sweet and entertaining

**Strong, relatable heroine & feminist themes**

* **Light, snappy pacing**

Perfect for when you’re in the mood for something light and uplifting… pacing is refreshingly tight

Minor issues

Pacing is a bit off and can lag. The romance went from zero to one hundred which didn't feel realistic. The points of view could get confusing it would be good if they shifted with clear markers.

Overall, *Dating Dr Love* is a warm, witty, and refreshingly charming romance. If you enjoy medical settings with feminist undertones, the heat of fake-dating, and plenty of playful banter, this will hit the sweet spot:

Ideal For…
Beach-read fans
Rom‑com lovers
Readers of medical romance

Dating Dr. Love is such an easy and enjoyable read—perfect for when you’re in the mood for something light and uplifting. It’s the ideal palate cleanser between heavier books.

The fake dating trope is handled really well here, with a storyline that remains light while still being engaging. I genuinely liked all the characters, and the book strikes a great balance between sweet and entertaining without ever dragging.

The pacing is refreshingly tight, with just the right length to keep the story moving without feeling rushed or drawn out. I really enjoyed Rachel Dove’s clean, engaging writing style and will definitely be picking up more of her work.

Such a good read. I really enjoyed this book and I really enjoyed the relationship between Chloe and Henry and the way they had each other’s backs and the way that they sparked off each other as well. I loved all the other characters as well.

I would highly recommend reading this book if you love a good romance novel.

I would like to thank Boldwood Books and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book early.

One of my variety tropes is fake dating. There are so many situations and reasons characters decide to fake date. This one was very different than others I have read. A real doctor fake dating an actor pretending to be a doctor was great. The chemistry between them was so fun to watch build. This is a fantastic beach read romance.
Thank you NetGalley, Rachel Dove and Boldwood Books for the copy of the book Dating Dr Love. This is my personal review.

Title: Dating Dr Love
Author: Rachel Dove
Rating: 5 Stars

I’ll be honest when I first picked this up I didn’t hold out high hopes, based on the title I thought it would be a standard cheesy romance novel. I was wrong! And I’m so glad I was. Yes it’s romance. Yes it has cheese moments but!… This book had me hooked from the beginning, I love Chloe and Logan’s story. They made me feel all the feels, I laughed with them, I shed tears with them and oh my heart! These two! I just loved it! I’ve never rooted for a couple and wanted to bang their heads together so hard as much as I have these two.
Well done Rachel Dove this is such a comforting love story and shows women how they deserve to be loved and respected. This is what a man showing up for his woman looks like.

She’s a real doctor; he just plays one on TV.

Dr. Chloe Henry is a sharp, ambitious surgeon gunning for a promotion—if she can outshine her smug, board-favorite rival. At a high-stakes medical conference, she’s ready to impress… until she finds a half-naked man in her hotel bathroom.

Logan Broderick—TV’s most scandal-prone (and medically incorrect) heartthrob—is laying low after his latest PR disaster. When their bathroom meet-cute goes viral, he suggests a fix: fake date for the cameras.

Chloe needs good press. Logan needs a clean image. But when snark turns to sparks, she wonders: could the world’s worst doctor be just what the heart ordered?

This is a sweet and easy read - if you're looking for feel good, this book is it.

It's fairly fast paced which I really like for a romance novel - they're often fairly slow. However in times it does sometimes make the relationship feel rushed/superficial.

I was rooting for Dr Henry and Dr Love all the same!

Spice is minimal.

Dating Dr Love is available July 16 2025.

dr. chloe henry, a dedicated surgeon on the verge of a well-earned promotion, crosses paths with logan broderick, a famous actor best known for playing dr. dante love in a tv series.
when an unexpected, messy encounter throws them together and they agree to the fake dating scheme to protect both their careers, their staged romance quickly begins to feel all too real.

i really like medical romances, but this one kinda fell flat for me overall.
i found the story entertaining at times, and it was a quick, and fast-paced read.
i liked the characters though. chloe was very hardworking and dedicated to her job (love reading about women in stem♡) , trying to prove her worth - really ambitious and fierce.
and logan could be my doctor anytime. even though he's a fake one, it doesn't matter.

I loved how the story explored the challenges women face working in a male-dominated medical environment - it felt authentic and relatable, showing chloe standing up to the patriarchal structures in her field and proving her capabilities.

I liked the enemies-to-lovers tension between chloe and logan. however, at the end of the day,  for me it was really forgettable. they fell in love within, like, one week, and their relationship felt really flat and lacked depth.

this is also a personal preference, but I'm not a big fan of third-person narration (though it didn't really affect my rating).

the story lacked some things, and the ending felt slightly rushed. the concept overall was good and interesting, but in the end, it just didn't do it for me.

however, if you're looking for something quick, fun, and light, with the fake dating trope, this one might be just for you.
