ARC review
Release date: 16 July
"Dating Dr. Love" by Rachel Dove is a medical romance between a surgeon and a tv doctor.
Thank you Boldwood Books for the advance reader copy via Netgalley.
Opinions from this review are completely my own.
What you can expect:
- fake dating
- doctor and actor
- hate to love
- forced proximity
- witty banter
Dr. Chloe Henry is a surgeon in line for a promotion that she worked very hard for.
She is a strong, independent and focused woman.
Logan Broderick is an actor, known for his role as Dr. Dante Love in a TV series.
He has some PR issues and needs to change his image.
They have a very funny first meeting caused by a mix up with a hotel reservation.
Logan get's Chloe's room and she attacks him, thinking he is an intruder.
Fake dating is one of my favorite tropes and in this book is combined with a hate to love situation.
They are attracted to each other, have a lot of tension and chemistry, but also banter a lot.
I liked both main characters and their interactions.
Logan was so sweet and protective with Chloe.
I recommend this book if you are looking for a quick summer read.

I just love medical romances so much! Basic premise is an actor playing a doctor needs to improve his image so his publicist orchestrates a romance with a real ER doc. She’s sassy and authentic! Their romance is amazing and swoon-worthy! 10/10 beach read

I just didn’t connect with this book. It moved very slowly at times. It would make an OK beach read.

A fun fake dating romance, the tv doctor and the surgeon. She agrees to the plan to help them both, but when real feelings get involved what will happen. I liked how it was told from both points of view.

I really enjoyed this fake romance story. It was a very fast read and the pace helped from the story getting stale. Chloe is a general surgeon at a county hospital, much to the dismay of her uppity family of private practice doctors. She attends a conference to present, which also doubles as an interview for the committee deciding the next department head. She has a run in with Logan, a TV doctor who is trying to hide out and repair his reputation following some bad press. His agent proposes they fake date so Logan can show he’s not a philanderer and Chloe can gain some street cred at the conference. Both characters were delightful and the story dives well into their personalities and pasts. There is one quick open door scene that’s really easy to skip if not your cup of tea. Check this one out.
Thank you, Boldwood Books, for providing this book for review consideration through NetGalley. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

This is my first book by this author and it did not disappoint. Chloe was a great main character. I would have enjoyed it from a dual POV but this way worked as well. I felt Chloe and Logan made such a sweet couple. I love how they reconnect and how they both became better people. Especially Logan. I will definitely be reading more from this author!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood for providing me an e-arc in change for a honest review.
Who doesn’t love a good fake dating book!! Loved this lighthearted easy read, perfect for reading in on sitting.
I found this such an entertaining read, had be laughing and swooning while reading which just makes a read so much better!
Really enjoyed the fact it was a UK based book which made a change from a lot of the usual US books.
Highly recommend this fun, lighthearted romance book!

A very easy & fast read. These 2 loves pop culture which are bonuses for me. As a medical health workers, what Chloe felt was valid, these 2 are written realistically. Plus, bonus I can see this becoming a rom-com movie~

Chloe Henry is a high achieving surgeon determined to get a promotion at an upcoming medical conference, but her path is blocked by a colleague Doctor jonathan Carson, whose charm outshines her in the eyes of the board. Enter Logan Broderick, aka "Doctor Dante Love'" a hollywood famous actor with a reputation for wild behaviour. When a scandal lands him at the same conference venue, fate intervenes. Chloe and logan collide, triggering viral chaos.

Dating Dr Love - Rachel Dove
RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
SPICE: 🌶️🌶️
“I wonder if blocking your parents’ email addresses is frowned upon these days. Is ghosting the people who gave you life a thing? Drew Barrymore divorced hers, right? She seems to be doing pretty well.”
I found that this was a super quick read and definitely was a fast burn romance.
The UK style of writing kind of threw me for a loop at the beginning and therefore I struggled to understand fully. After a bit though it started to go a bit smoother for me and I was able to get past that and really soak up the story unfolding.
The FRIENDS references 100% sucked me in. I mean the MMC was basically Joey. Ladies man who plays a doctor on a tv drama. The FMC on the other hand was something I could related to. Hard working and just trying to prove her worth.

Paging Dr. Chaos! This book is pure rom-com serotonin with just the right dose of spice, snark, and swoon.
Rachel Dove really said Grey’s Anatomy meets The Hating Game and then threw in a viral bathroom scandal, fake dating, and a PR nightmare with abs. I devoured this like it was prescribed to me.
Let’s break it down:
💉 Dr. Chloe Henry = ambition in heels. She’s fierce, focused, and done with being sidelined in a boys’ club hospital culture. She’s aiming for that promotion with the energy of a woman who drinks her coffee black and her enemies’ egos crushed.
🩺 Dr. Dante Love (aka Logan Broderick) = Hollywood’s sexiest fake neurosurgeon who wouldn’t know a scalpel from a salad fork. He’s in trouble (again), and hiding out at the exact medical conference Chloe is at. Cue one half-naked run-in in her hotel bathroom and BOOM—chaos goes viral.
Now they’ve got to fake date to fix their images. Because what’s a better cure for public embarrassment than falling in love with the shirtless man in your shower?
What I LOVED:
🔥 The enemies-to-lovers tension is immaculate. Chloe and Logan’s banter is the kind of sharp, electric back-and-forth that could power a hospital.
💋 The slow build from “ugh I hate you” to “actually you’re annoyingly hot” to “oh no I have FEELINGS” is perfectly done.
🧠 Chloe is brilliant, assertive, and does not need a man—which makes it even sweeter when she chooses one.
👨⚕️ Logan is more than just a pretty face. Dove peels back his layers, revealing a soft, surprisingly sincere cinnamon roll under the chaos.
📉 The gender politics in medicine? Real, raw, and so satisfying to see challenged through Chloe’s POV.
What didn’t hit 100%:
The ending felt just a tiny bit rushed—I wanted more time with them post-fake-dating chaos. Like, give me the couple’s victory lap!
A few side characters felt a little undercooked, but tbh I didn’t care because I was laser-focused on Chloe + Logan world domination.
Final Diagnosis:
Dating Dr Love is the perfect cure for a reading slump. Equal parts heartfelt, hilarious, and HOT, it’s a rom-com with brains, bite, and boatloads of charm. Chloe is a heroine you’ll root for from page one, and Logan? Let’s just say he can diagnose me any day.
Perfect for fans of:
📺 Grey’s Anatomy x Book Lovers
🩻 Fake dating chaos
💋 Big tension, bigger heart
💼 Women fighting the patriarchy (and winning)
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review! I didn’t just fall for Dr. Love, I flatlined.

medical romances are one of my favs! however with that being said, i feel like this book was much more about movie stars than the medical part, which was a huge let down.
i appreciated the thoughtfulness that went into creating chloe's character. the slight view on misogyny, woman empowerment and the over critical family members were perfect touches to her character. she was chefs kiss!
another thing: i wish the chapters gave some indication as to who's POV they were from. i remember getting to the second chapter, not realizing there was a character switch, and spending 5-10 min rereading pages over and over to figure out what it was i was missing. this made it extremely hard to follow along.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for providing me with an advanced reader copy of this book.
Dating Dr. Love by Rachel Dove is a heartwarming, feel-good romance that makes for the perfect summer read. From the very beginning, I was hooked by the engaging storyline and charming characters.
Chloe is a brilliant, no-nonsense doctor determined to step out of the shadow of her family's notoriety, while Logan is a charismatic actor trying to clean up his public image after being unfairly portrayed as a playboy.
When a chaotic meet-cute forces them into a fake dating situation to save their careers, sparks begin to fly. As their journey unfolds, both characters undergo meaningful growth, challenging each other in ways that feel genuine and emotionally rewarding. The chemistry between Chloe and Logan is undeniable, and the witty banter was one of the highlights for me. Their dynamic added humor, tension, and warmth to the story.
If you're looking for something flirty, fun, and light without sacrificing heart, this one is definitely worth the read.

A special thank you to NetGalley, BoldWood Books and author Rachel Dove for selecting me to receive an ARC copy of Dating Dr. Love 🩷
Chloe is a doctor with a well known name thanks to her parents legacy but wants to make her own reputation with her hard work and dedication. Logan is a hot celebrity who plays a doctor on tv but his career is going downhill quickly. When the two accidentally meet in the same hotel room the paparazzi is too quick to spin the story. Now in order to save both their reputations and careers Chloe and Logan decide to fake their relationship and give the public what they want. However sparks quickly fly and what was a fake relationship turns into much more than that.
This was such a fun romance book that had me hooked from the very beginning. Chloe and Logan's meet cute was adorable and I really enjoyed both characters a lot. I didn't like that the book went back and forth from third person to first person though, it seemed it was mostly in third person but the characters thoughts were written in first person. I also didn't like that Chloe and Logan both kept calling him the dad of her cat, they 'dated' for literally one week!! Despite the negatives, I still would recommend this book to anyone wanting a fun, flirty summer read!

Caution contains spoilers!
This story is truly a tale as old as time, with a fresh and charming twist. It begins with a classic case of mistaken identity: boy accidentally ends up in girl’s room, and sparks fly from the very first encounter. What follows is a whirlwind of insta-attraction, clashing egos, and slow-burn personal growth that turns into something real and lasting. I mean who wouldn't love the comfies and snuggles pictured in this book.
What I loved most was the dynamic between the leads. She’s the brilliant, no-nonsense doctor; he’s the charismatic actor who only plays one. Their roles and lives couldn’t be more different, yet they push each other to grow in the best ways. The contrast creates tension, but also real chemistry and heart.
Though they face ups and downs including a breakup it all circles back to a satisfying happily-ever-after that feels earned. It’s funny, flirty, and packed with feel-good moments. The gender-role reversal with the female lead as the intellectual powerhouse was especially refreshing.
If you're looking for a lighthearted, smart rom-com with a modern twist, this is definitely worth the read. It's the kind of book that leaves you smiling long after you’ve turned the last page. I am really happy too that the mc isn't living her life online we need more powerhouses showing that!

I’m so grateful for the chance to read this ARC! Thanks NetGalley and Baldwood Books for the opportunity to read it early!
While I had fun reading this book, it did unfortunately fall short for me. The concept itself is so interesting and I think it could have been amazing, but a few aspects made it hard for me to connect to the story. I wish we got to see far more of the week they were together at Chloe’s apartment after they decided to be together. I think there was a lot of build up but because we didn’t get to actually see them as a couple it was hard to feel the chemistry and their connection.
It was a fun read but definitely lacked some of the depth I think it could’ve had!

What we have here is a romantic comedy that seems a light read, but actually contains a lot of depth. Logan and Chloe find themselves stuck together and it is precisely through this that they bring out both the worst and the best of each other. Then they discover for the first time the beauty of having someone in your corner, and it is from this that their story starts. A story made of mutual support but also a good amount of self-love, sprinkled with a few communication problems here and there. But all's well that ends well, right? And in the end, we also earn a wonderful happy ending here, although we sweat a bit for it. One last thing: although the book is written in the third person, the author did a great job of immersing us in both Logan's and Chloe's perspectives.

why did they fall in love in the span of two weeks, and then spend month pining after each other?
WHAT WAS THE REASON!!!!!
they had decent chemistry and quite a fun meet cute, but that was just about it. their relationship felt very flat and thin, and so did the plot and the overall story.
it was also incredibly short, yet it dragged on quite a lot.
i did like the whole conference thing and their banter in the beginning of their relationship.
overall, it was an okay read, but not something i’d recommend😐
endless thanks to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for this e-Arc

This is such a lot of fun - it's silly and quite the romp, but in a good way. Fake dating, famous hero, STEM heroine, opposites attract, it is just delightful!
Doctor Chloe Henry is trying to build her career in the shadow of her (awful) family. At a conference she finds herself in a media snafu with famous actor Logan Broderick who plays the main character in the popular TV series, Doctor Love. Fake dating ensues to get the media off their backs and rehabilitate Logan's reputation. He is trying for the lead role in an upcoming movie and needs a bit more credibility, so having a doctor girlfriend is good for him. The benefits for Chloe are less obvious, but when Logan stands up to her bullying father, Chloe can't resist. From here on it's fluff and comedy as these two stick up for each other as they fall in love. It's not plain sailing though, as the fame thing is all pervasive, but they get there in the end.
I love Logan's vulnerability, and Chloe has a warm centre under her prickly shell. Author Rachel has previously written some high-angst romances with layers of pain so this detour into romcoms is such a blast! This is totally a fairytale with all the plot moments tied up neatly at the end, and it's charming and fun. Recommended for an easy and lighthearted read!
Thank you Rachel Dove and Boldwood Books for the ARC. Opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed this book, a great lighthearted holiday read. Made me smile a lot, had the right amount of spiciness and I cared about the characters. Everything you need in a romance. Sometimes if we love someone should we let them go? Will definitely read more from this author
