I enjoyed reading Dating Dr Love. The characters of Chloe and Logan felt flushed out, and the journey they went on together felt genuine. I do wish there had been a bit more humor. I felt there were missed opportunities that could have pushed the book into a full rom-com; instead, this book lands somewhere in the middle of rom-com and contemporary romance. The premise feels like a rom-com, but it does not fully deliver on that promise. That being said, I enjoyed it for what it ended up being, a beautiful contemporary romance where the couple fights for each other and for what they want their life together to look like. The book feels shorter than it is, and the ending feels well-earned and satisfying. If you want a quick, enjoyable read, this is for you!

“Dating Dr. Love” is a sweet and sparkling romantic comedy that tells the story of Chloe, a brilliant surgeon up for a major promotion, and Logan, a charming TV actor with a bad boy reputation, best known for playing a doctor on a hit show — which just happens to be Chloe’s favorite.

The two end up at the same hotel: Chloe is attending a conference that could be a turning point in her career, while Logan is laying low to escape the spotlight and clean up his public image. Due to an unfortunate (or perhaps fortunate?) mix-up with their last names, they’re accidentally assigned the same hotel room… right when a paparazzo is lurking, ready to snap a compromising photo. From there, a fake engagement begins — but it quickly evolves into something much more real, full of chemistry, tenderness, and mutual support.

The novel leans on several romance tropes (instalove, fake dating, just one bed), but blends them with grace and cleverness, creating a light, heartwarming, and satisfying read. Chloe and Logan are well-crafted characters: she’s a compelling mix of quiet strength, competence, and determination; he’s protective, honest, loyal, and incredibly caring. Their relationship is tender, sprinkled with humor and just the right amount of spice — always serving their emotional growth.

Some story elements could have used more depth — like Logan’s backstory or Chloe’s complicated family dynamics — and the sudden shifts in POV within certain chapters can feel a bit jarring. Also, the pacing is slow in the beginning and only really picks up in the final chapters.

One subplot I found especially engaging was Chloe’s struggle in the workplace, facing discrimination and prejudice due to her last name. As the daughter of famous surgeons, she’s constantly battling to prove her worth on her own terms, which adds a meaningful layer to the story.

If I had to point out a flaw: Logan might be too perfect. He’s sweet, sensitive, gorgeous, and always ready to protect and uplift the woman he loves. His desire to shield Chloe from the media — even if it means letting her go — was touching. Still, I found the certainty both characters had about their relationship being doomed a bit unconvincing, as if their differences were too great to overcome.

The ending is incredibly sweet: during the premiere of his film, Logan hears Chloe’s name being called and rushes over to hug her and shield her from the paparazzi. Is the HEA a bit rushed? Maybe. I would’ve preferred a more private reunion, but it’s undeniably a heartwarming scene.

And the tattoo scene? Absolute genius. Chloe has the words from an iconic scene — lines written by Logan himself, not the show’s writers — tattooed on her back. And Logan? He gets the same words tattooed over his heart while they’re apart. OMG. Total swoon!

“Dating Dr. Love” is a romantic and thoroughly enjoyable read. Perfect for anyone in the mood to dream a little with a modern, tender love story full of charm and a touch of magic.

Recommended for anyone looking for a light but captivating romance, with lovable characters and that fairy tale feel we all need sometimes.

Dating Dr Love was a cute, fake dating romance! Thanks to NetGalley for this arc. It was a little insta-lovey for me even though there was still a lot of waiting around for them to get together, but still a fun read!

The premise was good, but the execution not so much. Too much time spent saying it wasn't real, missing communication.

Fun, but not my cup of tea.

“Dating Dr. Love” is a rom-com by Rachel Dove. This was a fast and easy read - something I needed right now. The main female character, Chloe, was interesting - sometimes a wallflower and sometimes a wildcat. The main male character, Logan, seemed like someone you want in your corner - protective but also ready to call out someone when they need to be taken down a peg or two. I do feel like noting that if a hotel staff member does call the paps, at most places that person is immediately fired. 3.5 stars.

Cute story about a doctor who fake dates a tv star. Ropes include fake dating, forced proximity. Paragraphs were often really long which made this hard to read on a small device. Not the best of this type of story, but also not the worst.

The characters were very likeable and relatable.
Real life doctor falling in love with her celebrity crush who just so happens to play a doctor on tv? Genius idea for a story!

The only critic I have is when the POV changed halfway through a chapter without notice.

But overall it is a fab book with lots of romance, chivalry, protectiveness and support.
Highly recommend to anyone looking for a sweet romance to make your heart feel light.

Love the characters - they had dimensions and depth - overall a lighthearted rom-com with some very nice scenes. Not my favourite storyline but I was routing for them to get their HEA

This is an entertaining and sweet romance. I liked both main characters and could relate to them really well. Even though not everything in the story was completely believable I thouroughly enjoyed reading it and couldn‘t wait for Chloe and Logan to get their HEA.

This was a quick and enjoyable read—under 200 pages and packed with charm! Dr. Chloe Henry is determined to make a name for herself outside of her ultra-successful family, but a work retreat and a hotel room mix-up throw her into the path of Logan, a famous actor trying to lay low.

What starts as an awkward situation turns into something sweet and unexpected. Logan isn’t the party boy the media paints him to be, and he ends up being Chloe’s biggest supporter. Despite coming from totally different worlds, their chemistry is undeniable—and maybe even worth fighting for.

This book was entertaining but was deficient in a lot of areas. I was expecting a better development of Logan's backstory and a believable explanation for Chloe's family situation. I loved that both characters did have interesting personalities and bought out these beautiful parts of each other together. There is spice in the story that comes later on and felt quite secondary to the romance which was good. The side story about the environment at work with the bias against women and general discrimination with Chloe due to her family name definitely added to the plot.

This book is perfect for readers for love lighthearted romance and fake dating tropes. The paintball scene was my favourite - I especially loved the connection between Chloe and Logan. I loved the fake dating part of the book and I would have loved it if it was made longer and with more tension. That being said, I enjoyed reading this book and would definitely recommend it to readers who love romance.

For as long as I can remember, I have been a fan of traditional romance. Once I read more, I started to really enjoy both romantic suspense, and romantic comedies. Just from the description of this book, I knew I was going to love it.

My instincts were spot on! It’s been such a long time since I have started reading a book and immediately loved both of the main characters. I really liked how this story was written. This is a slight spoiler, but I also liked how there wasn’t some huge “misunderstanding” that needed to be fixed. Simply, one of the characters had to figures some things out, which they did.

I absolutely loved this book, and I loved the ending. I can’t wait to read other books from the author.

This Dr. meets tv Dr. romance was a fun little read for anyone that may be a little too in to Grey’s or ER (resurgance, anyone?). Logan is running from his bad reputation and is given the wrong room key at a hotel running a medical conference and runs into (literally) a freshly showered Dr. Chloe, and after being photographed together, a fake relationship is born. Except it’s not so fake for him. A couple days of being shown that the people you love are supposed to stand by you and support you, unlike her family, Chloe isn’t so sure it’s fake for her either.
Thanks to the advanced copy from Boldwood publishing, I was able to down this quick read in a couple hours and found myself smiling quite a bit at how Chloe found herself feeling supported for the first time. Realizing the way you grew up wasn’t necessarily the norm is rough, and seeing it play out in a positive way always makes me connect a little more. By the end, I was definitely rooting for things to work out for everyone, even Pete (the agent to Dr. Love), who helped my girl get what she needed in the end.

Chaotic, tropey, corny fun - exactly what I was looking for when I chose this book. Boo me all you want, but fake dating is a top tier trope, and I will die on that hill. In that way this book did not disappoint. Both characters had some growing to do, and they did it! Chloe and Logan had great, hard-won chemistry.

I do think it could use a spit-shine editing for pace, and to put a little more transition especially around tonal shifts. In a lot of ways, this reminded me of The Hating Game, so if you enjoyed that book, I think you'll really enjoy this!

Recommended for fans of instalove, paintball, and Grey's Anatomy.

I love a fake romance trope in a book. this was ok once I got past the first few chapters. I found the beginning quite hard to follow so really had to stick with it. It wasn’t until the last few chapters I really got into it

I read the blurb for Dating Dr. Love and thought it sounded interesting and I’m always up for a fake dating/fake engagement or fake marriage, but for some reason I just couldn’t connect with these characters. I guess I shouldn’t say I couldn’t connect as much as I didn’t feel like they connected with each other. Unfortunately this wasn’t a favorite of mine but I always suggest giving it a chance since it might have just been me or maybe I was having a difficult time because I was still missing characters from my previous read. I always say definitely give it a chance if it sounds good to you! I’m grateful to have been given the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book through NetGalley.
