Dirty Games is a good and very entertaining read. Callie's friend Dawn plays a bigger part here and has a secret she never wants Callie to find out. The story picks up from the previous book ending with Gavin still missing and Callie under pressure from her husbands business partner to do what he wants. I thought the story began quite slowly although it soon began to pick up pace. The authors writing is good, the plot is multi layered and full of intriguing threads that kept me guessing. Dawn faces her past head on but will her friendship with Callie survive? I enjoyed this read although it didn't wow me. The ending is good setting up the next book nicely and I look forward to reading it. If you like gangland crime books with a strong female lead character then this is for you and I'd recommend it.

Another fantastic book in the series from Evie Hunter. I like the way the characters have grown especially Callie, Dawn and Darren. Gripping story with Callie trying to run the business legit and her husband Gavin still mysteriously absent. Looking forward to the next book in the series as tension is building for all involved.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for an ARC in exchange for an honest opinion

A fantastic new crime saga. The characters were easy to follow. Callie and Dawn are lifelong friends, but Dawn holds a secret that could destroy their friendship. A story full of deceit and revenge. Can’t wait for the second book.

When you read a gangland crime thriller, you immediately know what it’s going to be about: power games, people trying to outsmart each other, and of course, money and manipulation.
Usually, this type of story takes place in a man’s world, but I’m always pleased when women show they can hold their own and don’t have to take a back seat to the men. While men tend to settle their disputes more openly, women often work much more subtly to reach their goals.
On one hand, there’s Callie, who decides that her patience and loyalty have been tested long enough. With some secrets coming to light, she finally puts herself first.
On the other hand, there’s Dawn, a close friend of Callie’s, who has been hiding things for years. Now, those secrets risk being exposed—and that could wipe their friendship off the map in an instant.
What those secrets are, and how it all unfolds, is told in this intriguing story.
Books in this genre are often quite violent, but the author proves that you can achieve your goals in other ways—through cunning and investigation.
In this book, the author puts women in the lead roles, and even though they take some hard hits, they keep their cool and push forward.
Captivating, with an interesting storyline, a smooth writing style, and plenty of plot twists—those are the key words I’d use to sum up this book. Personally, I wouldn’t have minded if it had been just a bit spicier. 4 stars.
Thank you.
