A gangland thriller with scorned women at the helm? SIGN ME UP!!

I've only just realised that Evie Hunter is in fact two authors, Caroline McCall and Eileen Gormley. I have read and enjoyed many books by them writing as Evie Hunter.

The two FMC were exactly as you'd expect them to be, brash and bolshy, with no f*cks given...even their friendship fast became a thing of the past and playing dirty became the name of their game.

Full of action, grit and glamour, Dirty Games had me hooked and I inhaled the book over two sittings.

Dirty Games is the second book in the Frenchurch Falls series and as I’ve already read book one I was really looking forward to this one. Well it certainly didn’t disappoint and I was glued to my kindle from start to finish wondering how everything was going to pan out. I do love a book with strong female characters and Dirty Games certainly has that in both Dawn and Callie. One of the things I liked about this book is that the main characters are female and feisty females at that. Usually with this genre it’s the male characters who take the lead so this was nice change. Dirty Games is a fast paced and exciting read that will keep the reader engaged right from the very start.

This is the second in a series, but it works well as a standalone as it gives the characters back stories and past adventures, I will be reading book 1 as soon as possible tho to get the full backstory.

I immediately liked these ladies, was exciting to see women being at the top of their game, they are both different and it was good seeing the fall out of the secrets that remained outside of their friendship.

Callie and Dawn are sly, underhanded and vindictive in their own ways, which make for fantastic characters, I’m excited to read book 3 to see what happens next.

I love reading the Gangland Thriller Series! I know I’m in for power plays, money and manipulation. It’s nice to see the tables turned and the women are in control!
Callie is worried that she is going to lose everything- her husband is still missing and she needs to do what she can to save her business. Loved the twists and looking forward to the next book. I was initially disappointed to realise that this was book two of the Frenchurch Falls series. Having not read the first and the characters referring to things that had happened in the past, I worried I wouldn't be able to keep up. However, it wasn't too hard to pick up a rough idea of what had previously gone on. I will be looking to go back and read book one, though, as this is a series that really got my interest. Bringing to mind authors such as Jessie Keane and Kimberly Chambers, both of whom I've loved reading.
Evie Huter has ticked all the boxes with this thrilling story where crime gangs headed by Renfrew and O'Keefe are in the middle of pulling off something big, however with both bosses on the missing list, and with others sniffing around ready to take over, the wives are left to find out whats going on. Packed with criminal enterprises, dodgy dealings, pay-offs, affairs, murders, secrets, and lies, this is a series definitely worth checking out!

This book started out well but became some what dull and slow in the middle, my opinion only. I also felt that a few of the characters were slightly unbelievable but the story was a reasonably good tale but could have lost a great deal of descriptive passages. Having read a few of this author's books and enjoyed but this didn't hit the mark for me.

This story picks up from where the last book left off and unfortunately, I have not read Dirty Business. Gavin is still missing and his business partner is pressuring Callie to do as he tells her. Secrets from the first book are revealed. Each of the main characters has a story to tell. I don't think this boo, even though I enjoyed it, could be read as a standalone. I feel I missed out on some things.

This book has so much to "unpack" that it kept me reading at warp speed! It involves Dawn, Callie, and Angie in a web of intrigue, lies, and deception as each has a story to tell...and lies to uncover. I really couldn't get through it fast enough as there are so many inter-connected plot lines that I had to take notes to keep it all straight. If you like gaming, drugs, and thugs, this is the book for you!

I'm a huge fan of Evie Hunter and this latest book did not disappoint me! I absolutely loved it and was hooked from start to finish.
Can't spoil it but the ending was brilliant as well.

Great book, with great characters, this is a new author to he and will definitely be reading more of her work.

I was totally engrossed in this from the start and finished the book in record time. I love the wives and I was kept guessing of who dunnit? The thrilling gangland mystery that had me anticipating how it would end. Bring on the next book in this addictive series.

Slow in the middle for me, but caught my attention again and had a satisfactory ending.

Great writing and good storyline

Book 2 in this series and from the first chapter we are catapulted into an explosive read.
Callie really is my favourite smart and fierce yet vulnerable at the same time.
This time, Dawn takes centre stage, and the secrets I knew she was hiding from book 1 are revealed.
Unfortunately, Angie didn't make an appearance in this book,her absence was missed. I'm sure she'd have had a lot to say on unfolding matters.
There are plenty of WOW moments that left you stunned.
We really see Gavins' true colours and just how more dangerous he really is.
Evie Hunter really knows how to deliver a great gangland thriller read with twists and betrayals galore that you just done see coming
