This was a fast paced mystery set in Cornwall. Eloise is a happily married artist with two grown up children. When a body is discovered in an abandoned building, an anonymous tip reveals the person to be Elizabeth King who has been missing for many years. However Eloise knows this cannot possibly be true and she is not sure what is going on.
Holly, her son’s girlfriend has a missing sister and has joined an online forum to solve missing person cases in the hope of finding Lisa, her own missing sibling.
Eloise has not told anyone her own secret and when she finally reveals all to Holly she is forced to rely on someone she is not really sure about and a group of investigators who might not know what they are doing!
The story is told from both Eloise and Holly’s points of view and it is difficult to know who is telling the truth at first as neither of the women are being honest. They have a lot of similar problems and gradually this brings them together as they try to work out what is going on.
I enjoyed reading this book as it was cleverly plotted with many surprises and twists. I would certainly be interested in reading other books by this author in the future.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for my advance copy.
