I really enjoyed this audiobook a lot! It grabbed my attention from the beginning and the twists and turns kept me guessing the whole time. I listened to this book at 2.5x speed and I didn't have any issues with the narrators. I thought they did a great job and I felt like I was in the south with them! I felt like the characters were likable and unlikeable when appropriate. I really enjoyed the small town feel this book had. Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture Audio for the ARC.

4.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Pastor’s Wife is a twisty, emotional mystery with layers of small-town secrets, complicated relationships, and a seriously compelling lead. Lyndee Walker really knows how to build suspense while still giving you characters that feel real messy, relatable, and full of secrets. I was hooked on the plot and genuinely didn’t see the full picture until the end.
BUT… the narrator didn’t quite do it for me. Something about the tone and delivery made it harder to get pulled in emotionally. I ended up switching to the ebook halfway through.Way better reading it myself. ( so sorry)The tension and pacing landed stronger, and the characters felt more distinct on the page.
4.5 stars for the story itself, which is layered and well-written with a satisfying payoff. Just maybe skip the audio version if you’re picky about narration..
✨ Thankyou bookouture for this copy❤️

This is a fun audio book. I listened to it in one day. Lots of twists that kept me interested. If you love fast paced thrillers, give this one a try.
Thank you to NetGalley for the audio ARC in exchange for my honest review.

The pastor wife, holy crap! What a roller coaster of a ride book. Take one perfect looking couple, one small southern snobby town and mix in a young woman on the run. No one is ever what they seem This is a psychological book that have you what will happen

The Pastor's Wife is a gripping ride that blends suspense, small-town secrets, and raw human drama. Lyndee Walker crafts a tense and layered story with characters that feel real and flawed in all the right ways.
The mystery kept me turning pages, and I appreciated the deeper themes about faith, trust, and identity.
I knocked off one star only because a few plot points felt a little predictable, but overall, it was a strong, well-written thriller with heart. Definitely worth the read!

(2.5 stars rounded up to 3)
This started off really well and had great potential but by the midway point I personally found the pacing pretty disjointed. When the twists started happening some of them did feel rash and thrown in to purely create shock. Some of them lacked any real depth to justify including them.
I did like the main character Martha. I found her an endearing voice and I wanted things to work out for her. The rest of the characters, including the Pastor's Wife, just came across as mean, self centered and I felt no connection to them so found myself not caring what happened.
The narrators did a fantastic job and I really enjoyed listening to their voices. They worked really well to draw the listener in.
This felt like a story that lost it's steam midway. I wasn't a fan of how it ended and it all just felt forced and a little predictable.
Overall a decent listen to pass the time but not one illy be thinking about much after finishing.

This is my first read by this author and I was instantly drawn in by the front cover, which promised secrets and suspense.
I mainly listened to the audio book, which was perfectly narrated by our two narrators who portrayed our main characters Mary and Martha.
I found it quite easy to follow the different pov's but there was a lot of swapping between timelines throughout, that I found a bit tricky to fully focus on at first.
I'm sure that this was purely because of the way that I "read" audio books though, as when I read through the ebook, it was all clearly shown at the start at each chapter which visually, made it so much easier to follow.
Once I got used to this format though, I quickly became immersed in the storyline which was intriguing from the start.
Mary and Pastor Tim seemed to have the perfect life, but there were some comments that made me really wonder about this and as the storyline progressed, we see more and more chinks that had me wondering about what was really going on here.
I was completely confused by Mary and Martha's relationship, which kept switching from true friends to maybe something a little more manipulated and it was clear that both of them had secrets of sorts - just how far these would run, we were yet to discover.
I loved how the different threads of the storyline revealed things bit by bit and each time I thought I'd worked out what was going on, things would shift in a new direction again.
This was packed with twists from start to finish and I was totally hooked.
The dramatic ending left things a bit open - I wonder whether we might see more from Mary in a future book?

3 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Thank you: NetGalley & Bookouture Audio for this ARC 🎧 copy by LynDee Walker. Publication Date: June 16, 2025
I was excited to review this book based on the description and I wanted to love it but I did struggle a bit. The book started out with so much promise but sadly the middle of the book dragged on. There was just too much unnecessary dialog and the story and timeline was a bit confusing and hard to follow.
The book did have twists and the plot, although predictable, did finally bring it together.
One thing I must say, the narrators were EXCELLENT!! Both narrators kept me engaged & wanting to continue. They did a fantastic job and I would love to hear more audiobooks from both of them.
Thank you again Netgalley & Bookouture Audio for this ARC 🎧

Very fast paced read!! This book will have you hooked from beginning to the end!! A story of twisted lives in a small community with an end you don't see coming!

An entertaining read set in a small town church where none of the main characters are quite what they seem. They are all hiding something, some secrets more serious than others and most of them are also not very likeable! Some twists and turns but nothing you won't see coming.
I had the audiobook and I quite liked the narrator. She brought the characters to life and was easy to listen to.
As I said, it's entertaining but I wouldn't be rushing out to read anything else by the same author.

Firstly, thank you to Netgalley for choosing me to ARC read/listen to, and review The Pastor's Wife.
The book has a slow start to it, but this is offset by the immediate sense of mystery.
The first half of the story focuses on knitting together the blossoming friendship between the two lead characters, Martha and Mary, both of whom recently moved to the small, mostly forgotten town of Whitney Falls, where the Internet is near non-existent, and the old ways are still favoured. Neither woman has any friends and they bond to one another very quickly, but they both, unknown to the other, have secrets they're trying to outrun.
The second half of the book picks apart and unravels every stitch of the story from the first half. Think you know where the story is headed? Think you know the secrets of the various characters? Wrong! Think again! My brain was spinning out like a dizzy dog, in a good way, of course. I was left crying 'what the actual?' on repeat, right up to the very end?
The Pastor's Wife had more twists and turns than a bowl of spaghetti, and I ate it right up!
I received this in an audio format and the narration delivered by Stephanie Cannon and Pat Rodriguez, did not disappoint. For the most part, their narration complemented the book, with wonderfully delivered, warm southern accents. The only elements that didn't quite hit the mark, were the male voices, who all ended up sounding like infirm 80 year old men.
Thoroughly enjoyable, rollercoaster of a read that I devoured across two sittings. I had not come across LynDee Walker before this book, but I look forward to reading everything she has published.
4.5 stars 🌟

(3.5 stars) Wow! I wasn’t sure where this book was going when it started, but we sure found out. It had many twists and turns I didn’t see coming. Mary, Tim, and Martha were complex characters and there was more than meets the eye for these Southern Baptists. The narrator was clear and concise. Story was easy to follow. However, it did have a slump in the middle of the story where it almost lost me. I do feel the story could have been shorter. (I listened to this book as an audio ARC)

I did NOT see this book coming, not what I expected at all! 🤯
This was such a quick, keep you on your toes read. It had me hooked from the very beginning! I will definitely read more from this author, thank you so much for this ALC!

The Pastor’s Wife is a psychological thriller packed with twists and turns! I couldn’t stop listening and definitely didn’t see the ending coming.
The book was narrated by Stephanie Cannon and Patricia Rodriguez. I enjoyed the dual narration, which made it easy to distinguish between the two main characters.

I enjoyed this book a lot. The shock twists at the end had me unsuspected! It did drag a bit in the middle and could have been shorter - it felt very long for a thriller.

Martha is new to Whitney Falls. But so are the smooth and charming Pastor Tim and his wife Mary. Mary and Tim had moved from town to town, but had finally found a home in Whitney Falls. From the outside looking in Tim and Mary’s marriage seemed idyllic, but it wouldn’t take long for Martha to see the cracks in their marriage.
The rapid friendship that developed between Martha and Mary was about to face significant challenges. With each of them harboring pasts they’d rather keep hidden, the narrative takes on a sinister tone. This book might have been a tale of secrets and lies, but it turned out to be far more intricate, making it an enthralling read from beginning to end.
As an avid audiobook listener, Stephanie Cannon and Pat Rodriguez were unfamiliar to me as narrators. However, I believe they both delivered exceptional performances in capturing the captivating voices of Martha and Mary. This added an extra layer of intrigue to the unfolding narrative. LynDee Walker was also a new name to me, and I thoroughly enjoyed my first encounter with what I hope will be a series of captivating books in the future.
Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

An interesting novel set in an area / community type I'm completely unfamiliar with, that of a small, seemingly insular Bible town in the American Southern States.
The start of the audiobook showed great promise and the narration was very good throughout. It had me hooked from the beginning.
For me, however, after about halfway I found the plot line increasingly unbelievable and a lot of repetition. If I'm totally honest, had this not have been an audiobook I would probably have given up on this after the cleaning scene at the motel which was fantastical, what Martha can achieve in a couple of hours is amazing.
As far as I am concerned anyone who can be disciplined enough to write a novel and get it published gets 5☆ for that alone. My (completely subjective) opinion here though is that the early feeling of foreboding which was so apparent at the start was lost later on.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for this ARC which was very much appreciated.

This one started out strong but then just dragged from about halfway. I found the majority of characters Mary and Tim especially irritating and dislikable. Martha for me was the only really likeable character. The small town theme and the dialogue was a little cringe. The twists and turns seemed a little forced and not overly engaging. The last 1/4 was engaging if a little drawn out and iseemed like it came out of nowhere. This one didn’t work for me at all.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture Audio for the opportunity to listen and review #ThePastorsWife

⭐️⭐️⭐️½ – Compelling Narration with Dark Twists
I had the chance to listen to an advance audiobook copy of The Pastor’s Wife by Lyndee Walker, releasing June 16.
The narrators were excellent — their performance gave me Ginny & Georgia vibes with that mix of charm, drama, and darker undertones. They really elevated the story and made it easy to stay hooked.
The plot is twisty and emotionally layered, with some parts that were a little predictable, which is why I landed at 3.5 stars. Still, it kept me engaged and delivered some genuinely surprising moments.
⚠️ Trigger warning: I won’t spoil the plot by naming them, but this book touches on some intense themes that could be distressing for some listeners. A heads-up for readers would be appropriate.
If you’re into domestic thrillers with secrets, lies, and complex female characters — this one’s worth checking out.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC audiobook.
Holy moly! What a wild book,!
I listened in one day because I literally could not stop!
Just when you think you know what's going on, a new surprise pops up.
No one is as they seem. NO ONE!
The narration is very good!
I highly recommend this to everyone!
