Steady Now is a small town. Opposites attract romance. It is a fast-paced, quick summer romance read. While I enjoyed the storyline and the characters, I felt like everything was rushed.

Thank you for the opportunity to read and review Netgalley!

I really enjoyed this i like all the characters and how they all come together to support and help hid i like huds relationship with connor - connor sounds so sweet and wren is obviously having a tough time of it so the fact she can open her heart up is really sweet, The sex scenes are really good and break things up.

I received this as an ARC and I’m going to be honest, it took a lot for me to get into this story. So much so, I almost DNF’d it a few times in the beginning. It was a great concept however I felt like the story line had too many things going on and it was a bit choppy. I didn’t feel really invested until about 75% at which point I really enjoyed the ending. Wren is running from her past and breaks down in the middle of nowhere TX. Her car is towed to a small town mechanic named Hud who proceeds to fix her car while they fall in love. There were some other plot lines but I don’t want to give them away. Overall, it wasn’t a terrible book but it also wasn’t my favorite.
Thanks to NetGalley, RupertBossier and Liberty Stowe for the opportunity to read this advanced copy.

Well, in the words of our FMC Wren, good night! This was a good night indeed. The heat is palpable in this book, both the summer Texan setting and between Wren and Hudson. The chemistry was well written, even if I do prefer more of a slow burn. Wren was a bit of an enigma, I wish we got more of her backstory earlier in the piece, but she was like-able, sweet and entertaining. The spice was spicing, and the connection, while fast, felt genuine. I vibed this read.

3.5 stars rounded up.
On the whole, I enjoyed this story. The overarching plot was enjoyable and the main characters were likable. I didn't always follow or find their motivations realistic, but that's just based on my own personal experience. The side characters were fun, they brought a lot of life to the story.
I was satisfied with the ending, though I'm not sure I liked how impulsive the main characters were, a lot of their actions were thoughtless and a lot of the conflict came from their own assumptions. Miscommunication/lack of communication isn't a trope I enjoy in romance stories, so that brought down my rating a little bit.
Thank you RupertBossier and NetGalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

I really wish this was the book I wanted it to be. There is absolutely no character development. I would love to have been able to dig in and learn more about Wren and Hud. The side characters of Cal, Anderson, Conner, and Martha were my favorites. The whole issue with Rosalee was very far fetched. The spice was just thrown in at some random spots and I actually just skipped through those pages. It started off soo strong and hilarious but went south quickly.

🚗💔💫 Steady Now by Liberty Stowe is a small-town romance dream! 🌾💖 From a broken-down Maserati to a sizzling Texas mechanic, this story is packed with heart, heat, and humor. 🔥
Wren & Hud’s chemistry is off the charts, and Vogel Springs is a place you’ll want to move to ASAP. 🥓🚜 The banter, the longing, and the tender moments totally stole my heart. This book is a great, fast-paced, grumpy cowboy small-town romance. I enjoyed it. The cover is eye-catching, and this is what drew me to the book. I wish something like this could have happened to me when I lived in Texas. The Grumpy cowboys do exist. This book brought back memories of the small town I lived in. Great writing style keeps your attention throughout.

An easy romance read. Lots of spice and spicy inner thoughts which seemed a little bit much at times but I appreciate that a lot of people may enjoy that! The story was cute and as I’ve said, easy to read and go along with!

This book would be good for Lucy Score fans. It was a great debut novel. Set in a small town, the story follows Wren when her car breaks down near Vogel Springs and she ends up at mechanic Hud’s shop. Wren is running away from something, but ends up falling in love with the town. Her best friend shows up and they start making long term plans. Included in those plans are Hud and his best friend Cal. Problem is, Hud has a lot of drama going on and is scared to get involved with Wren. This story would have been a 5 star for me, but I found the plot line of why Wren was running not really clear. I also felt like this could have used an epilogue, but that’s just personal preference. This story is open door and had a few spicy scenes. Definitely worth checking out.
Thank you, RupertBossier, for providing this book for review consideration through NetGalley. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

Great small-town romance! Loved the characters and the story from start to finish! Not usually my cup of tea, but I genuinely enjoyed it. Vogel Springs is a town I would love to visit.

This is a new-to-me author, and I have to say that this book is readable. However, I'm not sure if the author got some external feedback, because the randomest things irked me and the timeline didn't make a lot of sense. We have no clue what lead to Wren running out like a bat from hell all alone. None. I know she got broken up with... but why? Who was this dude? We know she's rich, but why is she scared/irritated with her dad? No clue! No mention is made of her clothing ( e.g) so it was weird that she left her broken down car in a garage. What is she wearing? Where are her clothes?
I also feel like the MMC fell for her immediately. I mean, come on. Just cuz her name is Wren and she's petitie and she drove a sexy car? She is shown to be down to earth and friendly and that was a relief.
The hero is a mechanic/land owner who is also rich, yet grounded, yet 6 feet+ yet handsome, yet so sexy. Pretty stereotypical, I'd say. The fact that he has a son is discussed pretty late into the book. You'd think the guy thinks about his some somewhere between wanting to be with his new girl?

Steady Now
I think this was a good debut small town romance novel. I loved the supporting characters and their personalities. I did think the last couple of chapters were a bit wordy and drawn out.
This was an overall good read. Thank you for Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy to enjoy!

Kindle Copy for Review from NetGalley and RupertBossier.
I received a free, advance copy of this book and this is my unbiased and voluntary review.
It is a romantic story of a female who seems to be always running from life and a small town mechanic who is attracted to her. Will he be able to fix her woes or will he end up being broken? It’s a sweet summer romance that will heat up your summer.

I enjoyed this small town romance. I liked the characters and the storyline. I do wish the characters had gotten to know each other a bit better but with the instalust trope it is expected. Great supporting characters. Spicy fun read.

This book is for you if you are a fan of Hallmark style small town romance where your MMC is a mainstay of the community and your FMC is a rich city girl.
For a romance with spice I found the romance to be the least compelling part of the book, and was much more interested in the corporate greed plot line and the characters in town.
The insta-love fell short for me in this one, it felt like Hud did the bare minimum while Wren made real sacrifices. I actually could have done with less of the physical scenes and more of the characters.
All in all, if you like hallmark style small town romance then this is for you.

Steady Now might be your run-of-the-mill romance between a rich city girl (who drives a Maserati!) and a simple small town guy who is coincidentally car mechanic and evidently becomes her savior after her luxury car breaks down in the middle of nowhere with no hope of Triple A to come and fix her problems for her.
Indeed, Welcome to Vogel Springs! Wren Baldwin finds herself in the quaint town of Vogel Springs, at the mercy of an uber-hot and jaw-dropping car mechanic named Hudson Bass. The initial interaction was electric, but the layers of each character drew me in instantly. It was the perfect slow-burn love story that I would willingly let myself get lost in for days.
A story of love, healing, and allowing people in your life because at the end of the day... we all need a little help from time to time.
Thank you to NetGalley and the team of Liberty Stowe for giving me my first ever ARC! 10/10 would definitely read this again.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I started reading it this morning and finished it tonight. I fell love with the characters, I wanted a happy ending, I wanted the good guys to win!!! My only disappointment was what happen to the ghost, why bring her in the story and not give het more of a story line. It was a cute and at times a little spicy story line. A cute little read, I enjoyed it Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read.

I truly am a sucker for small-town romance and this was top tier. The build was excellent. The characters were easy to love. I’d love to visit this town. Steady Now was a win for me !

This was a hard one to finish for me. Almost until the end, I felt like the characters barely knew each other, and not in a “when you know, you just know” kind of way. I found Hud to be pretty unlikeable especially every time he called a woman a bitch. It really colored everything else he said and did for me.
They liked each other way too fast and over analyzed everything within one day of knowing each other, but actually they’d spent almost no time together and barely talked. Overall, there was far more internal monologue than actual conversation or time spent together.
It was absolutely insane that Anderson just decides to buy a house and start a business in the town his friend broke down in and no one addresses that as strange other than the one time Wren mentions it, but she already knows Anderson so she gets it.
Not to be too nit-picky, but since there were multiple plot points that seemed improbable, I found that they added up to make a pretty unlivable story. How did Anderson put in an offer, close on a house, and get a parade-load of contractors to show up within days of finding out the house exists? It’s so unrealistic I wanted to quit the book before I even got to 50%.
I did not find the storyline compelling that all these small town folk wanted a big company to come take a family’s land to build a factory, even if it was for jobs. A town would never turn on one of their own in favor of some developers like that. Everyone in that town seemed so unlikeable by that point, I didn’t even want Wren to stay. She kept saying it was home and I felt like it was full of some of the worst people I’d ever read about.
All in all, if it weren’t for getting this ARC from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review, I wouldn’t have even finished it.
