Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me this eARC to review.
This a cute little book and I'd say it was aimed towards a younger audience but I think all audiences could read this and enjoy it.
The art is sweet and the colour scheme is warm and comforting. I did find some bits a little repetitive but it's nothing I'm mad at.

just an adorable book full of love. the illustrations are sweet, and seeing life through the eyes of George the cat is delightful.
obviously it's a quick read, but it's one of those books I can see people returning to for comfort, and sometimes that's exactly what you need from a book.

I was expecting more of a graphic novel format, but I still really enjoyed the cozy art style and the overall message.
The illustrations complemented the text nicely, with a good variety in the backgrounds and tone. However, I found the character expressions too limited—both the cat and the human had their eyes closed for most of the book, which gave it more of a bedtime story feel, even though the content didn’t fully match that vibe.
The idea of Gorge dreaming of himself as things like a lion or a pancake maker was cute but unfortunately it pulled me out of the story. I was hoping for a bit more variety in poses and more cat-like thoughts or treats—something a little more grounded in feline behavior.
The story was warm and gentle, though it did feel a bit raw or unfinished in some places.

Told in a cozy, calming tone and paired with soft, evocative illustrations, the story is perfect for both kids and adults.

I absolutely loved this!
It's the purrfect book to quietly reflect inwards on yourself while reading. What do you think when you sit still? I loved how the author had pages with no words but rather just George quietly reflecting. This book made me wish I was a cat. Just sitting still and thinking!

This is seriously the most ADORABLE book. Perfect for putting your kiddo to bed, but I would buy this for the adult cat lovers in my friend group. Who doesn't love a mindful cat? And by the way, the artwork is warm, cozy, and absolutely obsession-worthy. I want a George t-shirt now.

My autistic son loves cats, so I got this book for him to read as part of his summer reading program. This is what he said. "I have never loved a book so much! It brought secret tears to my eyes." I agree with his sentiment. This is an adorable story and encourages the importance of sometimes just being still. Kids are smarter than we give them credit, and I think they will absorb and learn the lesson the author is sharing, yet still find entertainment and love for our lead kitty cat, George. The illustrations are so beautiful and cute. Well done on the author's part. 5 stars and beyond!

What George Thinks When He Sits Still is a gentle readya bout a gentle cat! I would love to see how the pictures are layed out in a physical book. The breakdown of singular pages in the e-book I think hurts the book in ways, because every page is a separate thought or image. I do LOVE the illustrations, and the color palette as a calming affect that helps the reader immerse themselves into the cats world. I see this book as a successful collection of George poems or stories.

I may not be the intended audience but I couldn't pass on a cute book about a cat. The art style was very cute and the little story was well writen, cute and easily understandable.

“It sounds like velvet folding into a smile”. This might be the prettiest thing I’ve read in a long time.
I’ll be honest, I really liked the concept of the book and the illustrations, it made my heart really warm, made me want to have a cat of my own. However, it is true that there are a few sentences and illustrations that seemed a bit off and weird (like the person in bed missing their upper body or the extra leg while eating ice cream).
This unfortunately makes it look like it’s AI generated and that takes away all the magic of the book. I’m sure there are a lot of real artists out there that will happily illustrate this story.

WhenI first saw this I thought it was a sweet concept but upon reading and looking at other reviews I discovered a strange AI art style and odd turns of phrase in a very simplistic style picture book. I’m not convinced this isn’t a product of AI.
1.5 stars

Oh my goodness this is so cute and sweet, okay again thank you so much netgalley for the opportunity to read this.
I think this book is a children's book for adults and I'm down for it. I have to say that I love cats and George is so cute and unique.
Well so in this book the author talks of course about George the cat and a little bit about everyone. Now is when you ask me what are you talking about, I think this book is so relatable in so many parts.
And I don't want to spoil everything.
So I will recommend everyone to read this book because it's so good and is a short book.

When I stay this broke me. I cried for thirty minutes, it was beautiful. The writing moved everything along with the beautiful artwork. Couldn't recommend more.

The premise was very cute so I went into it very excited. However, I wad disappointed to find out that AI had been used extensively in the production of this work. The text felt odd at points and the illustrations devoid of emotional connection and human warmth. I am very sorry to see AI taking over the book industry.

Cute story, weird images. There were pages where a tail was growing out of a box or a patch of grass. Flowers growing out of the top of flowers, apples floating in a tree.

Page after page, it became increasingly clear that AI had a part in making this. From the inconsistencies in the illustrations of George the cat to the text that jumped from one thing to the next all the time with no apparent story. Very disappointing.

While reading, I thought this was a very cute and cozy little book, mainly advertised as a children's book, but doesn't have to be exclusively for younger audiences as it conveys a sweet message to everyone.
However, I felt there was a little something off about the artwork, and looking it up confirmed it was made by AI.
AI doesn't belong in creative spaces. It's a shame, really, since it makes the whole story seem soulless and takes away from the personal connection to it, when it's such a cute concept and could've been made with love by an actual human being.

THIS WAS SO ADORABLE !!!!
I am absolutely obsessed with the style of drawings!! Even though it’s technically a children’s book it was still very good, especially the drawings.
Since it’s a graphic novel obviously we can’t expect plot from it, however the idea of the book and the cozy vibes were executed perfectly.

Sweet, cozy, and heartfelt. This book is purrfect for fans of cats (or just animals in general), kids who enjoy the quiet, or kids who may like to find some more quiet moments in their life. This book is brimming with love.
