The Robin on the Oak Throne is an exhilarating and action-packed follow-up that excels in nearly every aspect—gripping romance, high-stakes heists, emotional depth, and an immersive supernatural world. K.A. Linde takes the Oak & Holly Cycle to the next level, with Kierse now facing the complexities of her newfound powers, trauma, and tangled relationships, particularly her intense connection with Graves. Their chemistry is electric, and watching Graves earn back Kierse’s trust while opening up emotionally makes their dynamic all the more captivating.

The world expands beyond New York, incorporating European settings and ancient Celtic lore, effortlessly blending urban fantasy with mythological richness. As the plot intensifies, Kierse uncovers more about her past, torn between the dangerous allure of Graves and the seductive power of Lorcan, the Oak King. Lorcan, as a nuanced antagonist, adds an extra layer of complexity, while Kierse’s personal growth remains the heart of the narrative.

Though the pacing can occasionally lag due to the buildup of exposition and some recurring romantic tension, the book’s emotional depth and unexpected twists more than make up for these moments. The stakes are high, and the characters, especially the multi-dimensional Graves, keep you guessing until the very end.

The Robin on the Oak Throne is a thrilling, fast-paced adventure that leaves you eagerly anticipating the trilogy’s conclusion. If you love a mix of supernatural intrigue, powerful romance, and rich character development, this one is a must-read.

Let me start this review by saying that I am someone that will give 5⭐️ very emotionally and Robin made its way into my heart and refused to leave, therefore wining 5⭐️s! Wren had previously been such a superb and enjoyable book to read and as a big big fan (and extremely picky!) of urban fantasies, Wren definitely made it to my top urban fantasies. So to say I was excited for this sequel is an understatement!

I love how we follow up pretty much after the ending of Wren, with Kierse on the other side of the pond doing what she does best: an immaculate stealing/heist! I quite like Kierse, she’s quite fearless and very risky but I think that’s what makes this such a fun read! She has been betrayed by a lot of people before and she holds her heart behind a platinum wall and seeing her allowing herself the opportunity to open up and make her own found family is beautiful! I really appreciated how we have more of a team work during this book, how the inner circle expanded to a group of found family almost! Which now bring us to Graves! I very much delighted myself in watching his character grow and take risks in the matter of heart and trust! And I loved the most how Kierse made him want to be better and more humane. We are introduced to new characters, some from Grave’s past and we also get to know his past and secrets alone side Kierse’s own - what a treat it was!

One particular aspect I am truly thankful for is how the author does little ‘debriefs’/‘plot reminders’ through out the book because she understands some people have probably read it more than a year ago and would be forever appreciative of her if she kindly reminded us of the big and major plot information! I’ve actually never seen it before in a sequel and I though it was such a brilliant thing to do and honestly, it made my whole experience a lot better as I was remembering more and more as I went and with her little “footnotes”!

And that ending? What a chaotic cliffhanger, I was like 😨😱 during the last couple chapters! What a precedent this author has left to follow her next and finale book of this trilogy! I need it for yesterday, thanks!

Many thanks to the publisher for this e-arc! All opinions are my own

This book was so much fun! It’s not often a sequel to a book can outshine its predecessor but here we are! We jump straight into the drama and it never stops. There is so much TRAUMA but Kierse’s development in this book is visceral and real. I felt like I was in her head with not knowing who I could trust and who I couldn’t. The world and the lore is so fleshed out and I loved finding out more about who Kierse is.

I can't tell you how excited I was to return to this world! After reading The Wren in the Holly Library late last year I've been on the edge of my seat waiting for The Robin on the Oak Throne and it didn't disappoint! Dare I say it was even better?? 🖤

We start this book having left the gritty New York we came to know in TWITHL, instead we're in captivating Paris, and Kierse is doing what she does best(?) 💃🏻
To keep this short and sweet and most importantly spoiler free -
The Robin on the Oak Throne is a fast paced, twisty turny masterpiece with the perfect balance of grit, darkness and betrayal, and banter, heat, and new loveable side characters 🫶🏼
If you're looking for a book that'll take you on the ride of your life, that you'll want to devour in one sitting, this one is for you, friend 🔥

loved this book even more than book one! There was more spice, action and twists!

That ending!! I need the next book already! I can't wait to find out what happens.

The chemistry between Graves and his wren is perfection! We also get to see more of her friendship with Ethan and Gen.

It's going to take me a while to recover from the last few chapters haha!
