A truly exceptional and inspiring insight to overnight train travel. This explores the nostalgia of overnight express trains, dining cars, the magic of staring out of a window and meeting the eyes of a complete stranger, a snapshot in time. I’ve always enjoyed Monisha’s love of trains, it shows how much she truly cares about the entire process and the people you meet along the way, the potential relationships that can be formed or solidified during a shared experience. This book has left me with an excitement for future adventures, I’ve already booked and planned a train journey purely from reading this book. I’ve caught the travel bug again, thank you!

If you like trains, are fascinated with night traveling, and trains, and care about the environment, Moonlight Express (lovely name btw), inspires, informs and impresses.
Rajesh’s book is rich in tips, anecdotes and an engaging narrative.
My family and I will be purchasing this book and utilising it for planning our train trips.

A gentle and personal travelogue cutting across not just geography , history , people, food and local conditions . We’re also given a strong political narrative about current world conflicts and impacts on climate. By the time this is all wrapped round with beautiful depictions of the people met along the way, this book is most definitely one to savour.
