wow. just wow. this book follows characters through a different kind of post apocalyptic world. i was HOOKED from the first chapter. absolutely beautiful and gut wrenching at the same time.

full of suspense, betrayal, action and trust between characters, everything felt so real. i genuinely forgot i was reading a book. such a different kind of romantasy / supernatural romance compared to what i’ve read before. i definitely recommend this book to anyone!

This book was certainly a surprise. I don't know what i was actually expecting! This is my first Megan Crane book and it won't be my last... I HAVE to know what happens next! The world building was great and I flew through it. I love the cover, it drew me in immediately.

Our girl Winter is surviving in a Post Apocalyptic world caring for her Granny and trying to keep the monsters away. (I did find the repetition of the generic term for the zombies, gargoyles, werewolves, vampires etc "Monsters" slightly annoying at the beginning but thankfully that petered out). I was cheering Winter on, along with the powerful monsters she formed relationships with and there certainly was some spice.

If anything could have improved this book for me it would have been the connection with the two main characters. There were moments where their connections hinted at deeper emotional layers, but these weren't fully explored, leaving me wanting more growth and complexity in their relationship.

That aside, the plot kept me engaged throughout, and the side characters added to the story. I would definitely recommend this book, especially to fans of dark fantasy and paranormal romance.

loved this romance of an oracle with friends that are a sorceress and werewolf. loved that she was able to find love and deal with the big bad who might be coming back . would read the next book on this series

I don't know what I was expecting when going into this book - but I found the storyline so compelling! If you love stories with supernatural creatures this book has it. From mysterious vampires to moody werewolves and even zombies!

The Reveal flipped the world upside down when humans were made the bottom of the foodchain and the supernatural world took over. Winter is just trying to survive, until she gets dragged into the King of the Vampires orbit by force.

The romance was compelling, the plot dramatic and engaging, I did think at times it did drag - but overall it was a really nice and different story!

Check out this book when it comes out October 7th!

If a post apocalyptic Jacksonville full of super natural creatures is up your street you will enjoy this book. There is a brooding vampire king who runs an MMA school, a prom queen turned werewolf and a terrifying goddess of filth.
All while Winter has to fortify her home against zombies, work shifts at a coffee stand and try to help her brother through his addictions.

If you’re after something a bit different mixed with all things supernatural this is for you.

It’s a very short read at just short of 300 pages and I easily read this in one sitting. I would have liked a bit more depth and length into the ending and context behind the villain. But overall I did enjoy this book.

This book was a wonderful surprise to say the least!! I thought the cover was particularly hooking to get a reader to know more from the description and it delivered! This is a paranormal romantasy with vampires, werewolves, goddesses, etc. that all follow through a fast-paced plot with plenty of world building. This is open-door spice for all my lovers out there!! Overall, I would recommend for anyone looking for a fun and fast read.

The Reveal tells the story of a different kind of post-apocalyptic world, one that is ruled by everyone’s favourite monsters and where the very survival of humankind is fraught. As a concept, this isn’t something I had come across before and, for this reason, it felt like a fresh and creative perspective.

I have to say the world building was a particular strength; seeing how these powerful monsters would co-habit the world alongside each other and engage with gifted humans was interesting and I would have liked to delve into this more thoroughly as a system. My favourite character was, by far, Gran and I loved the fact she had an all-knowing presence and played the long game with her family.

For me, it was unexpectedly spicy, not that I minded this, but I clearly missed the hint in the blurb about wildfire chemistry! I’m also not sure I would agree fully as the relationship between Winter and Ariel was borne more from an overwhelming compulsion and didn’t move much beyond this dynamic. It just felt there wasn’t much substance to the foundation of their relationship. I also found some of the intimate scenes or references a bit repetitive and oddly paced throughout the story leaving little room for other detail.

There was a bit of disappointment that the major storytelling scenes skimmed over so much of the action or seemed too convenient at times in order to drive the story forward. Again, I think this might have been a pacing issue from a narrative point of view, hence the rating.

Overall, it’s an entertaining read if you’re into fast paced fantasy and supernatural romances.

This book follows Skye, who thought she had it all under control until one headline flips her life upside down. What follows are Family secrets, a very public scandal, and a woman finally taking back the narrative.

Megan did a great job with a slow sinmer of tension and a very messy but powerful redemption arc!! ❤️ I love a badass FMC who’ll burn it all down (but in style)

I was interested in this book because of the blurb and the cover (so beautiful)!

The end of days has come, and there are zombies, vampires, werewolves you name it. Winter is trying to keep a roof over her and her grandmas heads while surviving in a world after essentially the apocalypse, while also finding love.

I found the premise really interesting, I truly was hooked from the beginning( I mean zombies who wouldn’t be) however less than half way in I felt like it kind of dragged a bit for me. It felt like the plot just had a lot of filler in it and it was too slow of a pace for the kind of world they were in.

The world building however I found phenomenal, Megan did a really great job of describing this post apocalyptic world in a way that didn’t seem to far out of reach for me to be able to imagine it!

Monsters, Mayhem, and Mild Disappointment

The end of the world has arrived and honestly it’s a bit of a faff. The WiFi’s gone, zombies are rifling through your bins like raccoons with a vendetta, and vampire blood is the new cocaine. Welcome to whatever this is now.

Our main girl Winter is just trying to survive in a crumbling world while looking after her gran, dodging bin diving zombies and trying not to think too hard about her brother Augie who has become a vampire blood junkie. Her parents? Vanished a month before everything went to hell. Classic.

To keep a roof over their heads, Winter rents out parts of gran’s house to a motley crew of cryptid cohabitants. Enter Maddox, a werewolf and former high school prom queen type who probably peaked at seventeen but now rents a room like the rest of us. Then there’s Savi and Briar, whose personalities are somewhere between suspicious and “should I sleep with one eye open?”

And then there’s Ariel. Tattooed vampire king. Handsome in a brooding, red-flag-screaming sort of way. Winter makes a deal with him to help her brother, but it’s all very vague and secretive for far too long. There’s spice, sure, a lot actually but you’re still wondering if Ariel actually has a personality beyond ‘immortal and inconveniently attractive’.

Would I have liked more development of Ariel before things got steamy? Yes. Would I have like less descriptive bulk, also Yes! Did I zone out around the 80% mark and start counting how many chapters were left? Unfortunately yes again.

It’s not that the book was bad. It had moments fun world building, cool monster lore, and a decent setup. But much like the zombies, it felt like it was just shuffling along at times, making a lot of noise but not really getting anywhere.

If you’re into post apocalyptic monster mashups with some bite (pun fully intended) and don’t mind a love interest who’s a bit of a personality vacuum, this might be for you. Personally, I finished it more out of stubbornness than passion.

Three stars for the concept. One for the zombies loving rubbish. None for Ariel.

This was one of those stories that completely hooked me from the very first page! I tore through it, following our main character as she uncovered truths that were right in front of her all along—things she thought she understood, now flipped on their heads. Her world shifts as the people and monsters she thought she knew are redefined, enemies becoming allies, foes turning into friends, and dreams colliding with reality. The start of this journey was an absolute adrenaline rush, and I’m already desperate for more!

I decided to read this book because I thought the cover was beautiful, but wow I was in for a surprise. This book completely wrecked me in the best way. From the very first chapter, I was hooked & by end, I was a full-blown mess. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough, but I also didn’t want it to end. What really hit me was how raw and real the characters felt. Every reveal landed like a gut punch. I felt like I was holding my breath through most of the book, just waiting for everything to fall apart.

This book has trust, betrayal, & action. It’s suspenseful & completely addictive. I still haven’t stopped thinking about certain scenes.

Some spicy scenes/references were a bit repetitive but I still had a great time reading this book! There were also some sentences that really made me laugh (in a good way!).
The ending really got me and I can’t wait for book 2!
Would I recommend this book? If you enjoy vampires, monsters, betrayals and a paranormal fantasy, definitely!

„The Reveal“ is a paranormal romantasy set in Oregon, three years after a global paranormal reveal, that resulted in manslaughter - and made humans the new prey.
25-year-old Winter struggles though life obliged to care for her frail card-reading grandmother as the rest of the family followed their path to self-destruction and left them.
To keep her home and stay afloat she takes in some rather unconventional boarders, which leads to an unlikely all-female community with a werewolf and other paranormals.
Throw in the vampire king ( who settled in this backwater to escape his traditionalist European court) a death goddess with a bloodthirsty cult bent on return and some power-hungry humans, and you can guess, things get complicated.

The plot was well-paced and captivating, the world-building was great. I loved the snarky FMC and the twists in the story. This could easily be read as a standalone, but the final chapter hints at a sequel, which I would certainly pick up!

That said, open-door spice fans enjoy…maybe. Personally, the repeated references to the male lead‘s, uh, „equipment“ got old fast. It started to feel like a contest for „How many superlative size adjectives can I fit“.

Still, overall I had a good time and I would definitely recommend it to fans of paranormal fantasy!

This book was such an entertaining ride! It took me a little while to get hooked at the start, but once it picked up, I was all in. Give me vampires and werewolves any day—I just can’t resist a good monster tale!

This was one of those stories that had me hooked from the beginning! It just flew by as I followed along with our character, finding out all the things that were right there, but she didn’t see. All the things that she thought she knew, but now sees in a new light. All the people, monsters, that she had her known notions about, and had it all re-arranged. Enemies to allies, foes to friends, dreams to reality, the start of this journey was heart-racing wild, and I cannot wait for more!

What a fun read! The beginning was a little slow for me, but I really enjoyed it! I'm a sucker for monster storys, especially ones with vampires and werewolves.

2025 is the year of the monster for me. give me all the vamps, werewolves, minotaurs etc. i want it all. this book was totally unexpected but i loved every second. i feel like i both need and want a book 2 asap.

Love me a vampire story that punches me in the face and then gives me an ice pack to make me feel better!
That is exactly what this book did, in a good way.
