✨ARC Review✨
Over and Out by Claire Wilder
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
🌶🌶
After a career ending dirt bike accident and being rescued by a handsome stranger, Chris is lost. When she is offered a job to be an assistant for a movie star, she gets the chance to figure out who she is without riding. The only hiccup is that this movie star is her celebrity crush, and he is nothing like the sweet, romantic duke she fell in love with.

This was such a cute book! It was a nice and quick read, and I really enjoyed the characters. Chris and Hopper had a fun relationship, and I loved the banter between the two of them. Watching them fall in love was so easy, since they both already had feeling that they didn't know were there. Hopper had a lot of complexity to him, and I really enjoyed seeing him defend the people around him, even though he is known for being a bit of a jerk!

Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. Over and Out comes out on June 27th!

*Arc review*

Did I realize this was in a series when I requested it? no (ik shame on me) but I would have never known without checking good reads! It can definitely be read as a standalone and follows the couple of Chris and Hopper. Hopper is the most loveable grumpy golden retriever when in love energy I have ever seen but he was also very mature and just and overall likeable character. Chris I do wish we couldve seen more following her history as I felt that it was kind of spaced out but It wasnt like a main point to the point the book wasnt good or anything. But anyway I digress, this book was fun and emotional at points but I loved the couple and story/plot of it! Thank you again for the arc!

I love this world of Redbeard Cove.

I love Claire Wilder's characters. This book is no exception.

We met Chris a few books ago, a supporting character to Shelby and Lana, now it's her time to shine.

She's independent and fierce and alone. Nursing an injury and a crush on an idea of a person she's never met. When she crosses paths with Hopper she feels alive in a way she hasn't in years.

Hopper is closed off and isolated, by his own choice. Until he meets a mysterious woman and helps her in a moment of need and then never sees her again.

Wilder's enemies to lovers trope takes a new life as they learn more about each other and the best ways to push each other's buttons. They're banter is hilarious and touching. They open old wounds to help them heal.

It's a beautiful story and I can't wait for the next one!

Rating 5/5!!!!!

Tropes: independent-mfc, celebrity-hero, dual-pov, banter, battle of wills, traumatized-mfc, traumatized mmc, funny

Part of a series but works absolutely as a stand-alone!

This was a funny/sweet book. I really, really, really liked it. The banter was natural, not forced and I am a fan. My first book from this author, won’t be the last. The book has dual POV and it gives tons of soul to the story. You can feel the angst through the different perspectives and truly root for the leads. The side characters have their own stories, but it can be read a stand-alone. The ending was a little corny ( in my opinion), I don’t personally like public declaration of love, but that may be a me thing.

Absolutely one of the best reads this year.

This is a wonderful story with some amazing comedy parts. Chris is a very strong willed woman who is determined to give as good as she gets, no matter who the person is. When she goes against a very tall and handsome man at one of the tables she is working, sparky fly. There is so much to love of this story and who doesn’t love a happy ever after?

Reading this book was like being on a rollercoaster and not wanting to get off!

The fact that the racer/rider in this story was the FMC was enlightening.
Chris was an inspiring main character. She had a lot of time and respect for everyone in her life, but no time at all for liars.

At first, Hopper came across as arrogant and cocky and so full of himself. But he definitely changed my perception of him and I ended up loving him the most.

These two together as a couple were magic. The banter between them was top notch, the push and pull throughout, and then the nice slow burn that led to red hot chemistry 🤯 AMAZING!

So if you want to read a romance about a dirt bike racer, an actor who falls head over heels for her and a lot of smoking sexual tension from start to finish, then this is the book for you!

First of all thank you for approving my request!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! The authors writing style had me hooked throughout this book.

I didn't want it to end, a book I really couldn't put down.

Oh how lucky I was to get to read this as an ARC. Hopper and Chris quickly became one of my favorite couples Ive read this year! Although it was a Enemies to Lovers story, it was my favorite kind. This book definitely made me hope that happily ever after actually do exist.

This was surprisingly fun, I had not read this author before and was a little skeptical of the description, but as the story went on, the depth of the characters really shined through. Hopper was alone in a world that everyone saw him in, and Chris? she feels stuck in her past and afraid to live again. But the two of them really get each other to tear down their walls and open themselves up to both love and the truth. They both come to realize that even if someone knows all your secrets they will still love you and be there for you no matter what.

Over & Out is the third book in Claire Wilder’s series, but it reads perfectly as a standalone—though I’m now downloading the first two books because I need more! This story brings together a dirt bike racer and an actor—an unexpected combo, but it totally works. Their chemistry is immediate and electric, grounded in raw emotion and mutual growth.

Chris, our fiery, no-nonsense FMC, is everything I love in a heroine: strong, self-respecting, and unapologetically bold. Hopper, our broody, emotionally guarded MMC, brings the perfect grumpy-sunshine energy (with just the right amount of trauma). Their dynamic is magic. He falls hard and first, and watching their slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers connection unfold was so satisfying.

The book features so many of my favorite tropes—forced proximity, workplace romance, dual POV—and Wilder executes them all beautifully. There’s just enough spice to keep things steamy, but it never overshadows the story’s emotional core. I especially appreciated how real and vulnerable both characters felt, with layered backstories and genuine growth over the course of the novel. The found family elements are tender and uplifting, and I was truly grinning ear to ear at several points.

Claire Wilder has a gift for crafting characters you can root for and relationships that feel both sweet and grounded. This book is a lovely mix of cute, emotional, and affirming. I knew from chapter one I was going to love this—and I absolutely did.

Love love love! The cute tension between Hopper and his Bangles was just adorable.

I absolutely loved the setting of Hopper as a bad boy (not bad boy) movie star and his new PA Chris, their meet cute was not so cute but the way their relationship pans out is just perfection.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ ARC Review: Over and Out by Claire Wilder

I received an ARC of Over and Out and went in expecting a light, feel-good romance — and for the most part, that’s what I got. It’s a comforting, low-stakes read that works well as a palate cleanser between heavier books, with some sweet moments and a gentle emotional arc.

But I did struggle with it in places. Around the 60% mark, the pacing really dropped off and I found myself losing interest. On top of that, I just couldn’t get past the name Hopper for the love interest — it pulled me out of the story every time and honestly made me cringe more than once.

While the book wasn’t a perfect fit for me, it could still be a nice, easy read for anyone after something soft and uncomplicated.

thank you to claire wilder, netgalley and victory editing for the opportunity to read this early arc. i hope i have done this book justice with my review and i hope other readers enjoy it as much as i did <3

<< brief synopsis:
chris is an amateur dirt bike rider who has an accident in front of a man she doesn’t know but claims to hate, she later realises that she knows this man better than she thought she did. hopper is a child actor who is now a major hollywood star who is not only famous for his movie roles but also his bad boy reputation in the media >>

over & out is a slow burn, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, work place romance where he falls first and hard. it’s also a dual pov and all of my favourite tropes so i was immediately interested in this read when i first heard about it.

chris is our main FMC with a super fiery personality and a no BS tolerance which i absolutely LOVED. hopper is our moody and slightly mysterious MMC who is so unbothered about how the world perceives his image until he meets “his dream girl”.

the first couple of chapters really got me engaged with the storyline however it did drop off a little bit in the middle, but i was immediately hooked back in once the characters started connecting the dots of their original meeting. spice wise, there was a bit of spice in this book. However unlike other novels i’ve read, it wasn’t the main focus of the storyline which made the reading experience a lot more enjoyable.

the character growth between both chris and hopper was so refreshing to read as it was realistic and showed the characters most vulnerable sides. there’s a third act breakup towards the end of the book. i’m usually not a huge fan of that trope but i felt it helped with the storyline’s progression and showed the characters overcoming obstacles on their own that further help with their personal development.

all in all this was a really easy read and i’m so glad i decided to pick up this arc as i haven’t read any works by this author before however this won’t be my last claire wilder book. (and yes i will absolutely be reading the rest of the redbeard cove series!!)

Ooh this one is such a fun summer read! We all know I have a thing for a certain guy on a dirtbike, and Chris, one of the narrators, does too! Except she hasn’t seen his face! Fast forward to a tragic accident, a movie star assistant role, and some strong enemies’ banter, it’s a book filled with good plot details, dynamic characters, and all the feels. I laughed, cried, and found the hidden details in both narrators’ lives well done and woven throughout to make it feel authentic. I can’t wait for the next one— I definitely will be reading it!

Great book! The character growth is perfect. I’m definitely going back to read the 1st two books in the series. Hopper is such a great character. A true cinnamon roll.

This book was so cute! It had me kicking my feet and also crying. There were twists I didn’t see coming, and some I did see. I wasn’t ready for the book to end!

Got as an arc.
I absolutely loved it. Small town romance books are my favourite and this was great. I knew from the first chapter that this was going to be a book I loved to read and it was. I’m now going to make sure I read the first two books in the series to get a feel for all the characters and their relationships
