Thank you Net Galley for letting me read and review this book!

Sacred Chaos is a three week devotional for mothers struggling to fit prayer in their busy days. I was immediately drawn to the beautiful cover and title of this book. Being a mom with littles, I found the content relatable and the structure easy to integrate into my busy day. I especially enjoyed that each day had a section called “If you only have two minutes to pray”. I felt encouraged to pick up the book knowing just two minutes was enough. Although the stories were relatable, several times I found them to be long winded, which took me out of the moment. Overall, I would recommend this book to mothers searching for more in their spiritual lives. It would be a great gift to give a mother having her second or subsequent child.

Looking forward to reading more from this author in the future!

This is ideal for parents seeking a devotional amidst a busy time of life. Each devotional is split up into bitesize sections, following the same pattern every day. The first paragraph each day even states, "If you only have two minutes to pray today, pray this..". All the separate daily doses include scripture, transcribed on the page so easy to read. There is a lot of warmth and sense in the writing, making it both uplifting and challenging.

Oh, how I have longed for a book like this.

Author Jennifer Stavinoha has created a masterpiece for Moms with her upcoming book, Sacred Chaos: Finding Joy and Jesus in the Messiness of Motherhood.

The work offers a 21-day retreat for busy mothers to rest and rejuvenate in the arms of the Lord. Jennifer recognizes the challenges moms face in trying to draw close to God in the midst of mounds of laundry and hours of homework help. The journey to Jesus can seem quite daunting, but Jennifer is a patient and gifted guide.

Jennifer explores the themes of desire, encounter, and joy in an incredibly winsome way. I found I wanted to speed through the retreat just to take advantage of her heaven-centered wisdom.

This book would make an amazing present for the favorite mother in your life--or for yourself. It is a treat for mind, soul, and spirit and is likely to lead the reader to embrace your Savior as never before.
