This is a brilliantly twisty crime with a very clever killer and a TikTok star who in trying to encourage kindness ends up being framed for murder when her videos come to the attention of the killer. Con artist turned lawyer Eddie Flynn gets tasked with her defence and I love the way some issues his family have been having gets twisted into an even bigger problem due to him defending the TikTok star. There’s a degree of the underhanded tricks you’d expect from Eddie but he doesn’t cross the line as much as I’d have expected and even Bloch is relatively controlled in this. That said the story intertwines really well with no shortage of action and some clever moves all round, I love the twist at the end, really finished the book off well and I look forward to reading the next book.
