“When the world is hell, any act of kindness, no matter how small, helps put out some of those fires.”
Two Kinds Of Stranger is the 9th Flynn novel and follows Elly, an internet celebrity - famed for her random acts of kindness. Even at her lowest, Elly will always help someone in need, which makes her the perfect target for a sadistic game. Because as she soon learns, you can never trust a stranger - and when a seemingly random encounter plunges her into a living nightmare, the only person she can turn to is Eddie Flynn. With the most cruelly ingenious mind manipulating events from the shadows, everyone is in danger - including Eddie and his family.
Nothing quite beats the pure elation I feel whilst reading an Eddie Flynn novel, and Two Kinds Of Stranger might be Steve Cavanagh’s best yet. Told over five parts from shifting perspectives, this book is the definition of adrenaline, wit and suspense. Eddie is one of my favourite characters - relentlessly loyal, sharp and sagacious, whilst Elly is fascinating, fierce yet flawed. Then of course I loved the return of Bloch, Kate, Lake, Harry and Denise with their formidable attitudes, ferocity, devotion, determination and hearts. As for the antagonist, I’ll keep the details spoiler-free, but suffice it to say: Steve Cavanagh evidently knows how to bring a chilling character to life.
The pacing of Two Kinds Of Stranger is unabated from start to finish. Steve Cavanagh’s writing throughout is ingenious - tense, twisty and complex whilst remaining explicit in the direction of the narrative. Then that ending?! You come to expect that the characters have a trick or two up their sleeve, but I still did not see that coming.
Finishing another Eddie Flynn novel for me is always a bittersweet experience - you’re left stunned and exhilarated, yet already counting down the days (patiently) for the next one.
Thank you so much to Headline for sending me this advanced copy to read and review. My opinions are my own.

Amazing , I could not put this down. The twists and turns of the two court cases kept me guessing the outcome and the final twist at the end was mind blowing. I had not imagined that.!
Look forward to reading more of Eddie Flynns cases.

I’ve been looking forward to this book since it was announced and I was not disappointed. Two kinds of stranger has really raised the bar with one of the most sinister characters we’ve experienced so far, and the twist at the end was SO unexpected!! With the social media being so prominent these days, Ellie’s story felt so real (which was scary enough) but with everything else happening alongside it, Eddie really had to pull out all the tricks, and more. I’m hoping we get to see Kate again as she’s become one of my favourite characters, but also I’m now wondering if anyone else will return in future books…

Another great book in the Eddie Flynn series.
This book is full of the suspense and drama which we have come to know from this series. It picks up on another case undertaken by Eddie and his team which quickly sets the scene in the first chapter and leads you forward into another legal suspense thriller. It details the life story of a social media influencer who has her life turned upside down when accused of murder.
I enjoy all of these books written by Steve Cavanagh this is no exception. Would recommend reading this book as a stand alone or as part of the series. Thank you to Netgalley for an ARC of this book.

Just brilliant!!
When I requested an ARC of this book, I have never been more hopeful of being selected! It took a bit longer than usual to be selected and when I got word to say I had been selected, I was ecstatic, literally and I simply couldn’t wait to start it. I actually contemplated suspending the book I was reading so that I could immediately start this book, but that’s against my nature so I made myself tantalisingly wait!! So I’m starting this review with my thanks to Steve Cavanagh, the publishers and NetGalley for this ARC. You have made my month!!
If you haven’t read any of these books yet, I would say only this - ‘Do it’ and ‘Do it now!’ If you like a well written thriller, with great characters, a bit of courtroom drama (and a little bit of poetic licence), you are going to love this series!! You can read this as a standalone or you give yourself the treat of the year and start from book 1 and work your way through, each and every one is AMAZING! And somehow they just get better and better!
You don’t need me to give you the story, that’s given to you on the blurb on the back of the book or in the introduction online and it’s written by better writers than me. What you want from me is to know that you will not regret purchasing this book.
Many books are sold as ‘page-turning’ and some are, but, for me, none more than an Eddy Flynn book. Eddy is such a likeable character, as are his sidekicks, Harry, Kate, Lake, and Bloch. They are all flawed, (except maybe Kate) as we all are, maybe not quite to the degree they are but nonetheless, I love them all. This was a two plot book, although the two plots were somewhat linked and both stories were thrilling, scary and twisty and the final twist at the end, left me with a huge smile on my face…………….genius!
Steve Cavanagh, you are that genius, you and your team, and I cannot praise you all highly enough. Now, get on with the next one!! I can’t wait for it!! One question, why are these not made into films or TV series?

I enjoyed the book but I didn’t realise it was a 9 book series
Blurb
Ellie Parker had everything.
Perfect husband. Perfect apartment. Perfect friends and the perfect job.
As an internet celebrity - famed for her random acts of kindness - everyone knew it.
So when a betrayal causes her to lose it all, millions of people are watching.
But even at her lowest, Ellie will always help someone in need.
Which makes her the perfect target for a sadistic game.
Because as she soon learns, you can never trust a stranger - and a seemingly random encounter plunges her into a nightmare worse than she ever imagined.
The only person she can turn to is conman turned trial lawyer Eddie Flynn, who must take on a case where nothing is what it seems. With the most cruelly ingenious mind manipulating events from the shadows, everyone is in danger - including Eddie and his family.

Steve has done it again!!! It was probably my favourite Eddie Flynn book since Th1rt3en, which was the first one I read of this series. All the characters are so well constructed... then the plot just keeps on moving, not in a convoluted too twisty way, but in a "surprise you didn't see that one coming" way. I cannot recommend this book and (Steve's works really) enough... go read it!
Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC.

Another Eddie Flynn book, another fantastic five star read.
Two brilliant main plots, one very close to home. Exquisitely amoral characters, brilliant main plots and not one, but two, compelling courtroom scenes. All that and the most jaw dropping twist at the end.
Another fabulous addition to this excellent series

Having not read all of the previous Eddie Flynn series, I was slightly concerned I'd miss some of the plot points of the book. While I do think it would have been better if I'd read all the other ones first, I did really enjoy this and would definitely recommend :)

This is my first read by Steve cavanaugh, it's a part of series following lawyer Eddie Flynn, but can be read as a standalone. Fast paced with lots of twists and turns , clever courtroom action and the ending twist blew me away.
I would recommend it to all the thriller fans who enjoy the legal drama. I will be reading the other books in the series in the near future

Ellie is a social influencer who records her acts of kindness, when coming home early to cook a meal for her six month anniversary she finds him in bed with her best friend and has recorded this to her followers.
But they are both found dead Ellie was arrested and Eddie is on the case and his family is threatened so the case is difficult.
A great courtroom drama with a twist.
Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC and I give my honest review

I love the Eddie Flynn books, and this one was excellent, as usual! It keeps you on tenterhooks from the beginning, from a night in a notorious prison to the unravelling of various crimes.
Cavanagh has a talent for taking seemingly impossible situations to levels you would never imagine - every revelation is a surprise. As the reader, the writing draws you in until you feel a part of the story. Highly recommended!
Many thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for this ARC.

This is another great instalment of the Eddie Flynn series.
This is the story of Ellie, who's life has been full of ups and downs, highs and lows with some danger thrown in to make it terrifying for her.
Being a big hearted person Ellie helps a stranger with dangerous consequences.
She enlists Flynn to try help her out, but it isn't that simple for him.
The storyline is great, the chapters are fast paced and it'll have you second guessing your thoughts throughout.
This is definitely a must read!

Wow ... just wow!!! One of the best books I've read this year and one I can't recommend highly enough and even though this is number 9 in the series, don't let that put you off because you can absolutely read and enjoy this delight as a standalone but I would recommend you go back and read the rest, you won't be disappointed.
I am a fan of Mr Cavanagh's incarnation of Eddie Flynn having read a few of his previous outings but, I have to say, this is the best one I have read so far - an absolute peach of a story that had me on tenterhooks and devouring the pages as quick as my little eyes could manage.
With excellent characters, fantastic story and side story, perfect pace, the right amount of twists and thrills, I have no hesitation in recommending this to anyone who loves a great thriller.
What are you waiting for? Go get it!
Thanks to the author, Headline and NetGalley for enabling me to read and share my thoughts of this, a fantastic addition to this brilliant series.

This is yet another incredible instalment in the Eddie Flynn series - dare I say the best yet?? Fifty Fifty still holds a special place in my heart, but I felt like the twists and turns in this book were Cavanagh’s best work to date. As with other books in the series, this can be read as a standalone but has a little more impact when read with the rest of the series.
The opening chapter did a great job of luring me into a false sense of security - I actually forgot I was reading a thriller until bad things started happening! It was a really refreshing way to start a Flynn book, and I appreciated the switch-up.
This was definitely one of the trickiest cases Eddie had to unpick; at every corner, it felt like the team was just one step behind our incredibly smart antagonist. The whole book really kept me on my toes from the first to the very last page, and I was gripped throughout. The team genuinely felt like they were in constant danger!
I think my favourite part of the book was the double trial - I could feel the stress and exhaustion from every member of Eddie’s team, and it was fun to follow their different investigations and perspectives.
Overall, this was a fantastic book that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys gripping thrillers, multiple POVs and loads of twists. 4.5 stars!

Oh wow. I just tore through this book. Murder, revenge and a little kindness woven through. A perfect thriller

Another cracking installment in the Eddie Flynn series, even better than Witness 8 which was my favourite so far.
This time there are 2 storyline which twist together but it keeps you guessing and gasping (literally) all the way though. Elly is a character who really grew on me. Im not usually a fan of influencers on 'tikky tok' but I warmed to her and her situation felt really desperate.
Eddie continually pushes the boundaries and never fails to impress!
This was a one sitting rainy saturday read for me, I was so engrossed I forgot to eat!!

I was almost fooled by a gentle beginning into thinking that Steve Cavanagh had gone a bit soft, but by the end of the first chapter my heart was racing.
Steve is the master creator of evil, deranged criminals and, thankfully, also of ingenious, devious, lateral-thinking lawyers and investigators – Eddie Flynn and his team. They’re all back and on top of their game in this latest thrilling, perplexing, nerve-wracking episode.
The twists and misdirections come fast and furious throughout. And having had well-loved characters killed off in previous Eddie Flynn adventures, you’re never allowed the luxury of thinking “they’re the goodies, they’ll be safe”.
It’s the courtroom scenes that I love the most in these novels, so to have two cases running simultaneously was a real treat. Double the worry, double the delight.
I was tricked into thinking everything was resolved, when – BAM! – that final twist at the very end. Genius!
As an aside, I smiled a broad smile when Bloch is introduced as ‘My investigator, Bloch, pronounced Block’ – answering a question I once asked Steve myself :-D

I was accepted to read this book before official publication through NetGalley and below is my honest review.
He’s done it again!! Steve Cavanagh truly never fails.
This is the latest instalment in the Eddie Flynn series and yet again, I was on edge throughout!
Anyone who has read any of these books knows that Steve is the king of multi POVs and even though there is lots, it’s never confusing. It’s written so well.
The gasp that I gusped at the end! I was absolutely not expecting that ending. I LOVED it.
Two Kinds of Stranger is a fast paced, nail biting thriller. I think the fact that it is told through different POVs is great because it really breaks up the story and gives you chance to really dive into each characters narrative.
I recommend to anyone who reads thriller. Anyone in general to be honest 😂
Overall, I give this book 5 stars!!

I just loved this book! I was hooked on this book from the start I started this book yesterday and finished it the next day as I had to sleep. Otherwise I just couldn’t put this book down as I just had to find out what happened next as there was always something happening. I just loved all the characters and I just couldn’t believe the end it was perfect.
I would highly recommend reading this book as it’s just amazing and it will keep you guessing to the end. I look forward to the next book in this series.
I would like to thank Headline and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book early.
