An intriguing story about an influencer who has been set up for a murder by a mysterious stranger she offers to help. Famed for her online random acts of kindness, Ellie is charged with the murder of her husband and best friend and assisted by Eddie Flynn, a defence lawyer with a difference and who is not afraid of bending a few rules to his advantage. The story is well plotted and has some good twists. I haven’t read any other books featuring Eddie Flynn but I will check them out after reading this one.
Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review an advance copy.

Steve Cavanagh does it again! Excellent storyline and well developed characters. I absolutely loved it!

This is the latest Eddie Flynn book and in my humble opinion, they keep getting better and better. Throughout the book people keep saying that Eddie Flynn is "THE" lawyer everyone needs to defend them, but honestly if I ever get into trouble the first person I'm gonna call is Steve Cavanagh - that man is a genius. 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is the most twisted scary and brilliant psychological thriller I have read in a long time. From the first page you are gripped and drawn into a nightmarish world from which there seems no escape. A perfect story for our times as it involves an 'influencer" Ellie, who posts each day her random acts of kindness, like buying double of all her hygiene and beauty products so she can donate one bag to women's shelter. However, it's these very acts of kindness that make her the perfect victim for the most twisted killer I've come across in many hours of reading. He thrives on committing murders but gets the biggest thrill from setting someone else up to take the blame. Ellie has unsuspectingly videod her husband and best friend in bed together and as she was live streaming at the time, the whole world witnesses her humiliation and her husband and friend's betrayal. So when they are found murdered, who best to fit the frame ? There are plots and subplots a plenty and a genius and original storyline that will have you totally hooked to the last page and oh what an ending!!!! Sheer genius!

I suspect most fans of Steve Cavanagh will not be disappointed by this one. It is not my favourite in the series as I somehow didn’t quite believe in Logan. I feel a criminal needs more motivation than just being odd and I didn’t quite grasp what Logan’s was.
Still a good fun read and Eddie is a hard man not to like so despite being a little critical, I would recommend it to crime fans.

This was a good read and really sped up from part 4, the rest was getting to know the characters and the different stories, I did enjoy the different twists and turns along the way and it was really good and well written the was it all come together, I did guess some of the twists but not others, we are always left wanting more from Eddie.

This is the ninth book in the Eddie Flynn series. I think it’s best if you’ve read the other books in the series as you get to know the characters and their back stories but it does work as a standalone too. As a huge fan of the series I was so excited to read the latest instalment. Thanks to Headline publishers and NetGalley for my advance copy.
Elly Parker is a TikTok sensation, known for her acts of kindness she films and posts on social media. Streaming live to her followers, she accidentally finds her new husband and best friend in the bedroom, they’ve been having an affair. Even though she takes the video down, their reputations are tarnished. Elly moves out and takes a break from social media. One day she helps a man struggling with his suitcase at the subway station, he seems charming. Little does she know what will unfold.
Eddie is back with his team and is worried for his ex-wife and family as someone dangerous is after revenge.
This is easy to read but from the start hooks you in and grips you. If I’d had the time I suspect I would have read most of it in one sitting. I loved being back with Eddie and his team. The characters are a good mix of personalities and I have such a soft spot for Eddie and his unorthodox methods. The story moves between different points of view of the characters but I didn’t find this difficult to follow at all.
There are twists and turns and the whole time I was rooting for Eddie. The last 1/3 or so is so gripping I couldn’t stop reading and was up until the small hours as I had to find out what happened!
I thought I’d sussed out the ending but I was wrong and it’s such a satisfying ending to the story.
If you like the Eddie Flynn series I highly recommend this book, it could be the best yet! If you haven’t read the series I recommend it. Can’t wait for more from this author, he’s one of my go-to authors and I’ve enjoyed all his books I’ve read.

📚 Book Review 📚
Eddie Flynn is an ex con man turned lawyer, with a solid set of principles and a mistrust of policing. One thing about Eddie is that he will always help a person in need and Ellie, definitely needs his help.
Ellie is a happily married influencer who believes in performing good deeds for others. That is, until the day she is almost murdered and finds herself under suspicion of murder herself.
Ellie is the target of a dangerous stranger, a stranger who lurks in the shadows and he is meticulous and clever.
Eddie has a lot on his plate as during the preparation for this trial, his family’s lives are in danger and he has to split himself between his day job and the needs of his family.
This is an exciting read, with well written characters who come alive in the pages. The twists written into the story are exciting and kept me interested throughout. This is a great read and I will definitely be looking at more from Steve Cavanagh 🤩
I’d like to thank Headline, NetGalley and the author for the arc and the fantastic opportunity, in exchange for my honest feedback 😊

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Eddie Flynn at his creative best. I loved it!
All our favourite characters are back, defending content creator Elly on a murder charge. After catching her new husband cheating with her best friend, Elly is then charged with their murders and is herself poisoned.
Eddie and team are racing to find the real killer while also helping Eddie's ex wife and husband who are also charged with murder.
Steve Cavanagh is now one of my favourite authors.

Really easy, addictive read. Didn't want to put it down with all the twists. I did find it hard to keep up with all the different character names though and still felt the same at the end so 4 stars

4.5 stars – Unmissable for fans of psychological suspense and legal drama.
Steve Cavanagh’s Two Kinds of Stranger is a relentlessly paced legal thriller that showcases his signature blend of psychological manipulation, courtroom drama, and deeply personal stakes. This time, the spotlight begins on Elly Parker, a woman who seemingly has it all: beauty, fame, kindness, and a curated online image that would make anyone envious.
What makes this novel exceptional is how it pairs Cavanagh's much-loved hero Eddie Flynn with a new, emotionally resonant character in Elly. Her downfall is swift and very public, with the internet turning on her as fast as it once celebrated her. But it’s not just betrayal or bad press that ruins Elly’s life, it's something far more calculated, sinister, and personal.
The antagonist here is absolutely chilling, Cavanagh gives us unsettling insight into their psychology and it's disturbing because it's believable. That realism elevates the tension and forces readers to confront how easily an online persona can become a target, and how vulnerable people become when kindness is seen as weakness.
Eddie Flynn remains razor-smart, morally grounded, and just the right amount of rogue. The courtroom scenes are as sharp as ever, but Cavanagh keeps the focus on the emotional stakes, making every legal move feel urgent and necessary.
Two Kinds of Stranger is a taut, intelligent thriller that explores the dangerous intersections of fame, kindness, and obsession.

Thank you for allowing me to read this arc
Although it took me a while to get into the storyline due to the multiple characters once I understood I really loved the way 2 court cases coincided with each other and everything was linked
Elly Parker has everything, perfect apartment, husband and friends. When she loses it all because of a betrayal she doesn’t let it stop her random acts of kindness for her internet followers! However you can never trust anyone and this random act of kindness has turned into a nightmare she never would have seen coming. She turns to lawyer Eddie Flynn for help when she is at her lowest.

Thank you so much NetGalley for this arc, I squealed in delight when I was approved as I am a huge Steve Cavanagh fan and love the Eddie Flynn series.
I wanted to finish this before I met the man himself on Friday but I couldn’t quite manage it and I wanted to savour every chapter and take my time as I never want the books to finish.
Really enjoyed this instalment of Eddie and the teams dramas although I did want more Eddie and his escapades to get to the truth and what he’ll do to get there, he seemed a little more tame in this one.
The ending was very satisfying and can’t wait for the next book in the series to see what everyone gets up to next.

I’ve always loved Steve Cavanagh and Eddie Flynn, and this book reminded me why. When Ellie’s perfect life falls apart in public, a good deed pulls her into a nightmare.
Fast-paced with a few twists I didn’t see coming, it kept me hooked. I loved the character development, though I’d have liked more of Eddie’s trademark courtroom flicks and tricks.
A clever thriller as always and I can’t wait to see what Eddie and the team do next
Thank you for the ARC!

Oh my Goodness!
I knew as soon as I started this that I'd read (and thoroughly enjoyed) an Eddie Flynn novel before but this one was even better.
Exactly the type of book I'm always looking for. Clever to the point of brilliance, twisty, dark yet humorous in places and absolutely gripping.
I've got to spend the next hour now buying the other six in the series as soon as I've figured out which one I previously read.
Hats off to you Sir. Absolutely superb and one of the easiest five stars I've given in ages.

In true Steve Cavanagh/Eddie Flynn fashion this book is a quick-fire, must-know-what-happens-next, rocket-through-it read.
Elly is a tiktokker whose life gets turned upside down when people close to her are murdered and she is blamed. Eddie and his colleagues represent her, with Knick-on consequences for their nearest and dearest.
So much happens all at once - with two intersecting stories/court cases - but it is still easy to follow.
This book is exciting and entertaining with the usual lovable characters and a hefty dose of intrigue.
Definitely a 5-star read.

This is Steve Cavanagh’s strongest book but I will also admit I hold this man to an ungodly standard and I’ve been super poorly so that’s probably affecting my rating.
I’ll definitely read this again in the future and see if my rating changes but I adore Eddie.

Fantastic addition to the Eddie Flynn series with all the usual suspense, risk taking and ruthlessness you expect in these books. In this one, a TikTok influencer finds out, while live streaming, that her husband is having an affair with her best friend. She helps a random stranger which leads to her being poisoned, then she is arrested for the murder of her husband and best friend. The stranger, Logan, plays a prominent part in the rest of the book. Alongside all that, Eddie's ex-wife and new husband are being threatened and Eddie and his team step in to take on their case too. All the team are included in this one with Harry (and gorgeous Clarence), Kate, Bloch, Lake and Denise all contributing to the court cases.
Really fast paced, so much going on. Two days later, I am still thinking about the book and missing Eddie and the team!
Please write the next one quickly Steve Cavanagh!

ARC received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I was genuinely thrilled to be approved for this. I’ve devoured all the other Eddie Flynn books and loved every one. Steve Cavanagh’s writing is something else.
This one was fast-paced and enjoyable, following two interlinked cases that kept me turning the pages.
That said, I did feel like something was missing. We didn’t get as much of Eddie’s usual courtroom tricks, and parts of the investigation felt a little rushed. The split focus on two cases also meant there was less time for the usual depth of character development, which I really enjoy in this series. While it was still a good read, it didn’t quite hit the same heights as others.
The ending, though? Brilliant.
I’ll definitely be back for more Eddie Flynn.

Thank you headlinepg and NetGalley for arc
I was hoping to finish it for meeting Steve on Monday but didn’t have time last week I was on holiday and this week works has been busy

What I loved the plot the characters and it’s fast paced it was gripping from the get go if you love psychological thriller and suspense when this book is for you 5 stars
