I had forgotten what a joy it is to read Steve Cavanagh’s work. The plots are intricate, fascinating, captivating, engrossing, and outstanding in structure. The characters are utterly engaging, whether good or bad, and the legal procedures are so well depicted. Unputtabledown is the best way to describe his novels. I did anticipate the denouement but unravelling the clues is another matter entirely …
His storytelling ability is second to none; how he pulls the threads together is a masterpiece in keeping the reader guessing.

WOW, this has to be the best Eddie Flynn book yet, I could not put it down. Steve Cavanaghs writing is quick and enjoyable to follow, I love all the characters (can you tell I'm a fan) and I don't want to give anything away but in Two Kinds of Strangers, Eddie is being pulled in all directions between his family, client and a killer psychopath, Eddie and his team have their work cut out for them, Trials are coming to a head and Eddie has to use all his skills to do what is right for everyone.

Wow - the Eddie Flynn series just keeps getting better and better.
The first chapter of Two Kinds of Strangers draws you in with a stranglehold as we follow social media content creator Ellie Parker who is famous for her pay it forward good deed of the day. Unfortunately by the end of the day, she's probably going to wish she'd never bothered!
Two Kinds of Stranger is another addictive read from Steve Cavanagh and I must admit to thinking that perhaps Eddie Flynn had met his match with the adversary in this book but I hadn't taken into account the rest of the team.
Brilliant from start to finish and highly recommended from me.

Social media influencer Elly Parker thought things couldn't get any worse when she found her husband and best friend in bed together, then she was arrested for their murder. All her hopes are pinned on Eddie Flynn, but Eddie has problems of his own to deal with.
Social media influencers are now a fact of life, and most don't come across well. Elly Parker is a little different. Yes, she documents every second of her life with James, her husband of six months, but she also tries to use her reach for good by carrying out a random act of kindness each day and encouraging others to do the same. In Two Kinds Of Stranger, author Steve Cavanagh highlights how an act of kindness can backfire with devastating consequences.
The opening of the book gives us a glimpse of Elly's day-to-day life and her bubbly personality as she streams to her millions of followers, unfortunately, she doesn't realise that she's about to live stream finding her husband and friend in bed together. Two weeks later, Elly is trying to rebuild her life and doesn't hesitate to help a stranger on crutches who is struggling with luggage. The encounter results in Elly waking up in the hospital four days later and being accused of the murder of her husband and friend.
Fans of the series will be aware of Eddie Flynn's talent for defending clients who seem to have no hope and the fact that he is willing to skirt around the edges of the legal system to get the right result. We are given a glimpse of this early on in the book. All of Eddie's trademark skills are really put to the test in his defense of Elly. Eddie is supported by his usual team of Kate, Harry, Bloch and Lake. Everyone's expertise is needed as they try to track down the stranger Elly helped.
The story moves at a blistering pace as the narrative jumps between various characters, including Logan, the stranger Elly helped. We learn that Logan is a sociopath who delights in killing people undetected. As Logan's character and actions are revealed, I kept getting a hint of American Psycho's Patrick Bateman.
To make things even more difficult, Christine, Eddie's ex-wife, and her family find themselves in the middle of an inheritance case, which initially puts their lives in danger. Events take a shocking turn, and the two cases end up merging. Eddie is faced with a dilemma; he can't defend both cases and knows he's too close to represent Christine effectively. Eddie has to put his trust in Kate and Harry.
Everyone's experience and abilities are truly put to the test as they seem to be fighting against a ghost. Some of the scenes are adrenaline-fueled, my heart was racing as lives were put in danger. Twist upon twist leads to a thrilling conclusion, and then Steve Cavanagh gives us a deliciously wicked ending.

Elly is a social media 'influencer' who posts on TikTok, whilst filming she finds her husband in bed with her best friend, a few days later they are found dead and Elly is arrested for their murder, she has a strange story to tell that she was drugged by a random person and wound up in hospital, but noone believes her, enter Eddie Flynn and the team.
Add to this, Eddie receives a call from his daughter saying his ex-wife, Christine, and her husband, Kevin, are being threatened by a previous client of Kevin's and you have an absolutely brilliant story!
And then we meet Logan........
Could not put this book down, I devoured it in a day, Loved the twist
Highly recommended, seriously just read it!

I just love Eddie Flynn, (would love to see him move onto the TC screen, he's a great character).
This next chapter of the adventures of Eddie see him involved in two cases, one very close to his heart. We get the usual Eddie con tricks that he uses for good and we see some changes within his close knit team.
The main plot revolves around the world of sharing on the internet and, good deeds. Really easy to get straight into this book. Eddie's nemesis in this book< Logan was giving me Joe Goldberg vibes! (There are two characters who should never meet!)
LOVED the ending to this book, I didn't see it coming, neither did one of the characters.
As usual, when I finish an Eddie Flynn book I'm desperately waiting for the next one.
Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to review this book, this is my honest opinion. Would give it 6 stars if I could!

Eddie Flynn is back and better than ever! I don’t know how Steve Cavanagh does it, because every single book in this series hits every time and manages to floor me with twists and turns. I absolutely adore all the characters in this series and it is by FAR my favourite book series!

Oh wow, where to start! What an amazing book.
We’re introduced to Elly, an influencer on TikTok who is just getting on with life. But when her husband and best friend betray her she thinks she’s hit rock bottom.
That is until Logan gets involved!
There’s lots of twists and turns in this exquisitely crafted book that keep you hooked from beginning to end.
I have to admit that I was somewhat overwhelmed at the beginning of the book with the number of characters and the detail of their back stories but this all added to the richness of the story and helped provide context and a gripping storyline that kept me reading.
With twists and turns right up to the very end, including a very unexpected one, every page is filled with excitement.
A must for thriller and crime fans, the insight into relationships, law firms and the court room set in the great setting of New York means that this is certainly a book by a very talented author that you don’t want to miss out on!

Two Kinds of Stranger is the 9th in the Eddie Flynn series by Steve Kavanagh and it may just be the best yet. Kavanagh does a great job of launching you straight back into the familiar characters but making each book feel completely fresh.
This one begins with the attempted murder of an internet influencer and then twists and turns into all sorts of new directions you never see coming. The situation becomes more and more difficult for Eddie and the team, seemingly impossible to get out of, but many of their moves are just as unexpected as those of the villain. I really like the way these books are split between Eddie and his team and the viewpoint of the killer themselves, giving you a more rounded picture of the situation than any of the characters have.
The plotting and pacing of these books are exceptional, among the very best currently being written in the genre. All the characters are believable and interesting if not always likeable (they’re not all supposed to be, of course) and the investigating team are like old friends now. You could absolutely begin the series with this book but it’s well worth going back and enjoying them all from the start. The author finishes the acknowledgements by saying there should be plenty more to come in this series and I couldn’t be happier about that! Highly, highly recommended.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advance copy in return for an honest review

Within a few pages of the newest Eddie Flynn book, I felt like I was back amongst old friends, Eddie, Kate, Harry, Bloch and even Clarence!
This is such a brilliant series and Cavanagh has a great way of keeping it fresh and moving along with excellent character development in each novel.
This book tells the story of Ellie, an influencer, who inadvertently films the betrayal of her husband and her best friend for all to see. Quickly removing the video, Ellie is keen to move on, but when both her husband and best friend show us dead, it's clear the police are planning on proving Ellie is guilty of their murder.
Added to this, Eddie's ex-wife and her new husband are being threatened and when this threat includes Eddie's daughter, you know he won't let it go.
Two court cases run side by side as Eddie vows to defend important people in his life, against all the odds as usual.
Like I say, another brilliant novel in the series and I cant wait for number 10!
Thanks to Netgalley and Headline for an ARC in exchange for an honest review

If there was 6 stars rating this book would be given it. What a journey this book takes you on with all the twists and turns. Do not miss this from your tbr list as it’s just an exceptional read.

Oh. Wow. This book is absolutely superb. It needs to come with a whiplash warning because of all the twists! I was totally hooked and can't recommend it highly enough. Deserves more than 5 stars.

Another solid novel by Steve Cavanagh in the Eddie Flynn series.
Even if you've not delved into Eddie's world before, you're in for a treat with this thriller.
Lawyer Eddie Flynn is hired to defend Ellie, a social media celebrity whose perfect world is turned upside down when she is accused of the murder of her husband and her best friend. The two victims were having an affair, which Ellie had revealed inadvertently in real time when she was doing a live stream at her perfect aparment in New York.
Eddie is pitted against the cunning of charismatic sociopath, Logan, a chilling killer, while, at the same, time protecting his own daughter ,ex-wife and her husband when they are pulled into Logan's complicated web.
This is a bingeworthy novel, which could easily be read in one sitting.
As soon as it hooks you in (which is very quickly), Two Kinds of Stranger will have you turning the pages to reach the climactic conclusion.
Recommended for lovers of taut, high-speed thrillers and seat-of-the-pants courtroom dramas.
Thank you NetGalley and to the publishers for an advance review copy of this novel.

Huge thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of Two Kinds of Stranger. As a long time fan of the Eddie Flynn series, I was eager to dive into this latest instalment, and it absolutely did not disappoint.
The story follows Ellie, framed for the brutal murder of her cheating husband, while the real killer, Logan, a chillingly charismatic sociopath, leaves a calculated trail of evidence pointing directly to her. The tension is palpable from the start, and Steve Cavanagh expertly weaves a taut, gripping legal thriller that is impossible to step away from.
Eddie Flynn is as sharp and compelling as ever, surrounded by a cast of solid, likeable characters who bring real heart and depth to the story. The legal detail is, as always, spot on and never overwhelming, perfectly balanced to keep the pace flying.
This was a one sitting read for me. Clever, high stakes and filled with twists, Two Kinds of Stranger is another triumph from Cavanagh. Highly recommended for fans of legal thrillers and courtroom drama at its finest.

Internet star Ellie Parker seems to have it all until the day it all comes crashing down around her. Known for her random acts of kindness, she helps the wrong person – a stranger who wants to see her suffer. Ellie knows that lawyer Eddie Flynn is the only person that can help her, but Eddie is dealing with a crisis of his own when his daughter reveals something that threatens some of the people he cares most about.
In the ninth Eddie Flynn book, Steve Cavanagh turns his attention to the phenomenon of the social media influencer and the dangers of living your life for all to see. While Ellie thinks all she is doing is performing good deeds, she does not realise that by exposing so much of her daily life online, she is actually helping to incriminate herself when a nefarious character uses her innocuous posts to his benefit. A timely reminder of thinking before you post!
In any book, this would be a gripping plot, full of tension-filled moments where, at times, you genuinely don’t know what the outcome is going to be. I felt a huge amount of sympathy for Ellie, a woman who we know is totally innocent but has become the pawn in someone’s wicked game. In Two Kinds of Stranger, however, we are treated to an equally absorbing story involving Eddie’s ex-wife where we also meet a particularly horrible character, hellbent on disrupting the life of someone he perceives has wronged him. This is worthy of a book of its own but Steve Cavanagh manages to weave both plots together perfectly, demonstrating superb writing skill.
I am not going to give any spoilers but I did not see the ending coming at all so plaudits go to the author for keeping me on the edge of my seat right until the very last page! Things will definitely be different in future Eddie Flynn books and I am here for it!

I loved my first Steve Cavanagh book! Honestly kept my gripped throughout. I was worried that there was a large cast of characters but they were all so well-rounded that it made it very easy to keep track. I think the only character I didn’t feel was fully fleshed out was Kate so would be very interested in reading some of the former books in the series to learn more about the team. A great read, would totally recommend!

Another brilliantly plotted novel featuring Eddie Flynn.
When internet influencer Ellie Parker helps a stranger at New York’s Grand Central Station, it's the beginning of a nightmare. She is accused of a double murder and turns to Eddie Flynn for help. In a parallel story, Eddie's ex-wife, her partner and daughter are being threatened. This results in the drama of two court cases.
The characters in the book are very well-drawn. Logan is a particularly nasty and chilling villan. The story moves along at a good pace and all the different threads are skilfully woven together at the end.
A great read.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an arc in exchange for an honest review,

A fast paced novel that's full of villians, murders and plot twists! Very easy to read and throws lots of punches along the way.
There are many characters that are all well defined, plus the loose ends are tied up neatly by the end. You won't see that coming though!
Highly recommended as a holiday read.

Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read this book in return for an honest review. I love the Eddie Flynn series which is one of my personal favourites. Two Kinds of Stranger is a cleverly written book with lots of exciting moments and brilliant characters. The story has two court cases running at the same time which added to the suspense and the story was told from multiple points of view. A fast paced action packed thriller that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Highly recommended.

I really liked the characters and the final twist was amazing, I did not see it coming. I thought this was going to be different but I enjoyed it a lot.
I'm going to keep reading Steve Cavanagh's books for sure.
