Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of this book.

This is a good, solid solid story which keeps your attention throughout. It is fast paced with a lot going on but it is never confuding.

I love the team, I especially love Eddie Flynn himself.. I was not so keen on Ellie, I felt sorry for her situation but I did feel that she is a bit of a shallow, attention seeker and her Random Acts of Kindness were largely performative and in some instances amounted to nothing more than good manners. I have no time for people who document their lives on line so that put me off her from the very start.

What a great villain, awful though he is, I felt sorry for him. Very good twists at the very end too.

I have to say that this book did not sizzle like Witness 8 which the other book by Steve Cavanagh I have read but it is still a good read. There are other books about Eddie Flynn but they can be read alone. At some point I intend to start the series from the beginning.

Elly Parker has the perfect life. Newly married and a job as an influencer, life couldn't be better for Elly until it isn't.
Elly likes to give out random acts of kindness, which she shares with her fans.
During one of her podcasts, she heads a noise in her home. Streaming live Elly gets the total shock and betrayal of her life.
Elly continues with her acts of kindness until someone tries to destroy her.
Eddie Flynn is back with a bang! This series just gets better and better.
Eddie is on the case with Harry, Kate, Bloch, and Lake.
In addition to this case, Eddie's family is also in trouble, where he has two court cases running simultaneously.
Can Eddie get the right result and find the suspect?
As with all Cavanagh's Eddie Flynn series, they are fast-paced and actioned packed.
I absolutely loved it and can not wait for the next one.
No spoilers here but the ending... Brilliant!
Thanks to Netgalley and Headline for the ARC in return for an honest review.

Two Kinds of Stranger by Steve Cavanagh is a fantastic read and one of his best yet. I’ve been a fan for a long time, and somehow each book keeps getting better. The plot was exciting, full of surprises, and kept me guessing right until the end. I loved the main characters—Eddie, Harry, Bloch, and Kate. They all brought something unique to the story, and it was great to see them in action again. The writing is fast and easy to get into, and I couldn’t put the book down. Cavanagh has done it again with another great thriller.

Steve Cavanagh never disappoints - his books are always full of suspense and intrigue, with many twists and turns along the way. I was very pleased to be back in Eddie Flynn's world.

This can be enjoyed as a standalone novel, but why not treat yourself and read all the books by this amazing author!

Two Kinds of Stranger is an absolute cracker of a read. It has a great start that immediately lured me in. Ellie Parker is a social media influencer and when the betrayal of her husband and best friend is seen by all it leads to her being charged with their murders. Is all as it seems though or is someone controlling things in the background? Flynn and his team search for the truth and put themselves in danger. The author has excelled here with his writing which is very engaging and entertaining. The plot is very well thought out and multi layered and had me constantly guessing what would happen next and the cliff hanger chapter endings just made me want to continue reading to know more. The story is full of mystery, suspense and thrills and I think the story is perfectly paced. I really like Flynn and his team and have such a soft spot for Harry. The thread with Christine and Kevin adds to what is already a great read and takes a personal turn for Flynn. I think the court scenes are the best part of the story and love seeing Flynn come into his own during the trial. The ending is good I'll definitely want to read the next book. I've read two books in this series and think this is the best one so far, and will read the ones I've missed when I can. If you're a fan of legal thrillers then this is for you and I'd recommend it.

The first chapter of “Two Kinds of Stranger” was completely gripping and set the scene perfectly for this terrific legal thriller.

Former con artist turned lawyer, Eddie Flynn, doesn’t really have much respect for the law, but when he does step over the line, it’s always to help someone else.

This time around, he’s helping social influencer Ellie Parker, well known for her random acts of kindness which she shares with her many followers on her blog. Ellie has a wonderful life until the day it all comes tumbling down, and what’s worse is that she was live streaming the incident at the time, so millions of her followers were witness to it.

Eddie is also helping his ex wife Christine and her husband Kevin, but I’ll say no more about that, other than they’re being threatened by one seriously dangerous individual.

Ellie Parker has not only suffered humiliation and betrayal with millions watching, but she then becomes the target for a dark and dangerous stranger, and there are no limits to what this stranger will do to satisfy his twisted mind.

Eddie Flynn is not your average lawyer, he can be completely reckless, and plays dirty if he needs to, but you’d definitely want him in your corner!

Lots of twists and turns and some clever courtroom scenes, and wow, I never saw that twist coming at the end! Another winner for Steve Cavanagh.

This was another Eddie Flynn masterpiece, this had me gripped!
I was already for another instalment of my favourite legal team and Two Kinds of Stranger did not disappoint.
Based a little closer to home with Eddie having to consider the safety of his family and implications of his actions on those he loves, we see his team representing multiple clients. I liked the fact there was an element of social media involved, it made it feel very contemporary and realistic to society. I like the multiple POVs and the way that keeps you guessing while allowing you to see into the characters psyche.
As would be expected there were twists and turns that kept you guessing, and questioning everything. I couldn’t put this down and just consumed it.
I liked the meticulous details that make up the storyline and make the descriptions and emotions so vivid. I also like the way the background characters add impact and drama.
This was heavy on the mix of psychological thriller and courtroom antics, which makes a really fun and engaging read.
I absolutely loved this, top tier work again!

Two Kinds of Stranger by Steve Cavanagh is another gripping entry in the Eddie Flynn series, delivering courtroom drama, high-stakes tension, and razor-sharp twists with expert precision. This time, Eddie’s defending a man who doesn’t remember whether he committed murder—and Cavanagh milks every ounce of suspense from that premise.

Fast-paced and packed with reveals, the novel balances emotional stakes with clever legal maneuvering, keeping you guessing until the very end. Flynn remains one of the most compelling legal thrillers’ protagonists, and Cavanagh’s plotting is as tight as ever. A confident, electrifying read—4.5 stars for its sharp writing and relentless tension.

This is the ninth Eddie Flynn novel and the best one so far. Mr Cavanagh eases you into the feel of Eddie's ways with a mini-con at the beginning. It gets better with two courtroom dramas at the same time, both of which keep you guessing. The final twist is masterly. All the clues were there but I didn't see it.

How does that Steve Cavanagh do it? And how come there isn't a film and/or TV series?

Eddie Flynn is a brilliant concept – a conman turned lawyer. I like the way the Flynn team has evolved and this latest story sets the scene for more change. Roll on the next one.

This book was a slow burn but that didn’t make it any less enjoyable. I wasn’t gripped like I normally would but I really did enjoy the story. Part of the Eddie Flynn series but can be read as a stand alone. The twist at the end I didn’t see coming wow

Well written and fast paced thriller. Lots of characters that I got a bit confused with but it was my first Eddie Flynn. Bit too gruesome for me but appreciated the plot and twists and liked that ending.

Two kinds of stranger- Steve Cavanagh

First things first—a little heads up
This is actually book number 9 in what I can already tell is an incredible series. But, me being me, I didn’t realise that until about 50 pages in. So if you haven’t read the others yet, you might want to start from the beginning. That said, it didn’t ruin the experience for me—I just wish I had a bit more backstory. The characters I did meet were brilliant, and yes, I’ve already grabbed the first six books during a trip to Hay-on-Wye! 📚

The story kicks off with our main character suffering a humiliating betrayal that completely tanks her online career. Just as she begins to rebuild, she meets a stranger—and that’s when things get dangerously interesting. I have to say, Steve Cavanagh has crafted one of the most twisted, deadly, evil antagonists I’ve ever come across that was always one step ahead. Should we be worried, Steve? 👀

I absolutely loved how dark, clever, and absorbing this book was. The courtroom drama and insights into the legal system were fascinating—I’ve always had a keen interest in criminal law and the judicial system. You can tell Steve really knows his stuff. And let’s talk about Eddie Flynn: methodical, brilliant, and a lovable rogue. Infact I really enjoyed all of the charchters apart from one 💀

This story ticked every box for me and for some reason reminded me of one of my fave thriller films Copycat. For a first read of Steve’s this was amazing! Thoroughly enjoyed myself!

Thank you @netgalley & @headlinebooks for this arc🫶

Another fantastic read in this series - absolutely loved it from start to finish

The problem with Steve Cavanagh is that he is just too good a writer! He takes you into the mind of villains, serial killers, good and crooked lawyers, good and crooked policemen, and victims, with such ease that you feel you are living each one's experience. For me, that does not make for an easy read - my heart was in my mouth the whole way through this story of an TikTok influencer framed for the murder of her husband and best friend by Logan, the twisted killer who uses innocent people to divert police attention from himself.
Fortunately, she has maverick lawyer Eddie on her side - but he has his own problems when his ex wife and her new partner find themselves on the wrong side of the law.
With two cases to fight, can he stay one step ahead of the elusive Logan? Will Logan finally make a mistake?
This is a very exciting and suspenseful story, with lots of twists and and turns. The reader knows what is going on - the suspense comes in the sheer drama of what the outcome might be, the thrills come with page after page of action-packed drama and satisfaction comes with the eventual denouement.
A thrilling read, but just a bit too thrilling for me.

I loved this! One of my favourite book series, i read this in one day, very cleverly written and always a 5 star read

Another phenomenal courtroom drama from Steve Cavanagh with everyone's favourite con artist turned advocate Eddie Flynn. This time not only is Eddie defending a TIkTok influencer accused of murdering her husband and his lover but his ex-wife and her husband are also accused of murder. This stretches the team to full capacity as both trials are scheduled to run at the same time and this may not be accidental. The real killers exploit others' kindness. as a weakness. More courtroom drama in the next one please!

Steve Cavanagh does it again, I love the Eddie Flynn series and this is just as good as any of his previous books!

When random acts of kindness backfire in the worst way possible, you need Eddie to help fight for you! The characters are well developed, you’re not left asking questions and you just don’t want the book to end!
