What makes this book different from other cursive practice books I have read/analysed is the jokes and the narrative that engages the reader and the adult who might be guiding the child through this book.

The Beginner's Cursive Handwriting Workbook is a lovely practice workbook for cursive writing targeted at kids comfortable reading jokes and just beginning their handwriting practice. The exercises, mostly tracing or reproducing pre-written text, are targeted at kids, with interesting words, phrases, and jokes for them to first trace and then, copy.
That said, I'm an adult and find this approach fun, creative, and useful, even for me! A few minutes a day, and I might be legible in a few weeks.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

While it is true that more and more is done on computers and devices, there is still something to be said for having cursive handwriting that is legible. Here, Sloane sets out to make what could be tedious practice a bit more fun.
I like that the author speaks directly to kids in the book's beginning. There are then many exercises involving the tracing of letters, words and sentences. For kids who stick with it, there are some puzzles and games, along with writing prompts as they get further in the book. For those who get to the end, there is an achievement certificate.
In my opinion, this book would best be used for a few minutes each day. By the end of the summer, there just might be beautiful handwriting.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Cider Mill Press for this title. All opinions are my own.

This is a very brief but fun handwriting guide, one that I could have done with when I was younger!
There's not much to say as it's very short and simple, but it will undoubtedly work well for kids.
My thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for the ARC

This is a very cute and comprehensive practice book. It starts with letters, then progressively moves on to words, phrases, and then sentences. It also moves form up in difficulty from tracing to producing on your own with pictures or words in standard print. I love that it contains the importance of cursive (in a time when it’s not commonly taught in schools anymore) and gives examples - like writing a check and addressing an envelope. The certificate at the end were a nice touch.
A great tool for those who want to learn and practice cursive.
