Running Hott is Serena Bell's latest edition in the Hott Brothers' series, and while on par with the rest of the books, it was probably my least favorite. It's the grumpy-sunshine, jilted-bride, enemies to lovers story of Rhys and Eden. Rhys is a grumpy, workaholic who internalized his emotions, but seems harsh and unkind on the outside. Eden is sunshine in human form. Together, they somehow make the perfect couple.... which was difficult to believe. While there were some cute moments, spicy scenes, and fun banter - Running Hott was not a book I would re-read. An easy summertime/beach read if that's what you're looking for! Thank you to NetGalley and Jelsba Media Group | Serena Bell Books for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Thanks to Serena Bell and NetGalley for this ARC

this book wasn't the worst book ever but it was a let down because the premise had so much potential just to be turned out into a boring book with no chemistry between the main characters and while there were moments I felt entertained by it I also almost dnf it a few times. but honestly I think one of the worst crimes it committed was the time line of events, like why after knowing someone for all of 18hours you're telling me that you know them better????

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!! Not gonna lie, starting the book I was a bit annoyed that the mmc's name was Rhys cause, for real, lately everyone and their mother is naming their mmc Rhys. However, this only proves that I will fall for every single Rhys. 😭✋🏻

I loved Rhys and I loved Eden's character. I wish there was some more depth to her tho, more about her passion about quilting or her relationship with her mom, even more POVs from her, I wanted to know her better but I felt that everything about her character was brushed over.

Loved the small town vibe, the found family, the roadtrip, and I didn't expect to find Mari here!!!! I didn't know this was a series, much less that it was interconnected with the Wilder brothers ones, but this was a pleasant surprise and I really want to read the rest of the books now.

My only disappointment here was that I really wanted them to get married, what can I say, I love a marriage of convenience trope. But the way it was developed made sense for the story and the characters.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️
Tropes:
* Enemies to lovers
* Jilted bride
* Grump x sunshine
* Road trip romance

Thank you to NetGalley, Serena Bell, and Jelsba Media Group for this eARC! I really enjoyed this romance! This was such an interesting scenario that Rhys and Eden find themselves in. And how they view and experience relationships is a good reflection of how so many feel about them in this current time, so I felt that both of them were relatable.

For a guy who hates love and marriage and works in a field of relationships ending, he sets the bar high for men! He’s so caring and considerate of Eden, and goes above and beyond for her. It’s endearing and romantic as he travels along with her to get her quilts back…along with the closure and finality of her would-be marriage. I also liked that that road trip wasn’t the whole story! It leads to halfway through where they then give it a go and first give in to their temptation for each other. And it’s a fiery connection for sure!

And while it’s spicy, it’s also heartfelt and compassionate between them. They can go from a can’t-keep-their-hands-off each other moment, to a sweet and sentimental one soon after. Their relationship is real and all about trust, and it was so good to read how he earns it slowly but surely. I really liked that about them, which made me enjoy reading this!

RUNNING HOTT is the fourth instalment in Serena Bell’s contemporary, adult HOTT SPRING ETERNAL erotic, romance series focusing on the Hott siblings: Quinn, Shane, Preston, Tucker, Rhys, and their sister Hanna (Wilder at Last 5/ Wilder Adventures)-a spin off from the author’s WILDER ADVENTURES series. This is New York divorce attorney Rhys Hott, and professional quilter Eden Becker’s story line. RUNNING HOTT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story as there is an ongoing premise throughout.

SOME BACKGROUND: The HOTT Springs Eternal series focuses in the aftermath of the death of the Hott family patriarch. Grandfather Fox Hott has a number of stipulations and guidelines if the siblings are to inherit the family fortune. Each sibling is required to honor their late grandfather’s request if their sister Hanna is to keep the HOTT Springs resort in Rush Creek. If the orders of the will are not adhered to, the land and everything on it will be sold to an international mining company.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Eden and Rhys) RUNNING HOTT follows in the aftermath of the wedding that never happened. Eden Becker was minutes away from marrying the man whom she loved when the ‘new wedding planner’ Rhys Hott announced that her groom had upped and run. Rhys Hott never wanted the position as wedding planner but his grandfather’s will has deigned him the latest victim of his grandfather’s attorney, a man who is secretly enjoying the anxiety of the Hott family siblings. A cross country journey to retrieve what is hers, Eden finds herself looking at Rhys Hott with a different set of eyes, eyes that no longer saw Rhys as the angry attorney but as a man who is struggling with his own place in the family.

The world building focuses on Eden’s determination and drive to make it on her own, as Rhys struggles with what he wants, and a change in his future.

The relationship between Rhys and Eden begins acrimoniously as Rhys and Eden have a contentious past in which Rhys once represented Eden’s ex husband in their combative divorce. A successful quilter, and a woman scorned twice, Eden refuses to jump into another relationship but something about Rhys calls to her heart. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are reintroduced to all of the desperate Hott siblings, their significant other and Grandpa Hott’s attorney Arthur Weggers, as well as the introduction of Eden’s ex-fiance Paul Graves. Tucker’s story line is next.

RUNNING HOTT is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and heart break, family and relationships, acceptance and love. The premise is captivating and entertaining; the romance is seductive; the characters are determined, desperate and dynamic.

Serena Bell continues her very fun Hott Springs Eternal series. The premise of the series is that Grandpa Hott put provisions in his will making the grandchildren complete challenges to inherit the family ranch. If they walk away a mining company gets the ranch, which no one wants. Each sibling gets a stand alone novel where the challenge of course leads to love. In this book Rhys Hott is a successful NYC divorce lawyer. But his task is to be a wedding planner at his sister's venue that is on the family ranch. He of course doesn’t want his sister to lose her business. Of course he wasn’t expecting his first client to be Eden Becker. He represented her ex husband in their divorce.

This is a delightful, spicy, rom-com. She is sunshine to his grumpiness. The chemistry is great and Rhys gets some seriously good lines. A fun pick me up read that already has me looking forward to the next book in the series. I subscribe to the author’s newsletter and it turns out that the first book in the series, Hott Shot (Sept 2023) is currently available for free on various book sites. I started the story with the second book so now I can jump back into the series while waiting for the next book.

Grandpa Hott was a hot mess and left the Hott siblings a very complicated will.

Rhys Hott is a tough lawyer who doesn't believe in marriage, committed relationships, and love in general. In order for his wedding planner sister to keep the venue they own, he must help with a wedding up until the actual marriage.

Eden Becker is the current bride that Rhys will help with the wedding planning. However, on the day of the wedding, Rhys finds a letter left to Eden, letting her know that her fiance won't go through with the wedding.

Loved how the main characters embark on a journey that will eventually bring them closer and make them believe in love again. Their story was very believable, and throughout all the tumultuous trials and errors, they were bothe able to find each other.

Thank you, Netgalley and Serena Bell Books, for this cozy ARC. All opinions are entirely my own.

Is the third time the charm?

Rhys is a die hard cynic. He's a one and done, hook up kind of guy. As a divorce attorney he is the ender of marriages and he represented Eden's husband in her divorce. He is forced to be a wedding planner to fulfill his grandfather's will. He becomes Eden's wedding planner in a twist of fate. As irony plays a big part in this book. he's attracted to the irritatingly upbeat Eden, who is taking another stab at matrimony.

Now, he's the unwitting getaway driver after Eden is dumped at the altar.
I liked Rhys. Eden is exhausting.
Recommend.

His grandfathers will stipulations have finally come for Rhys. What does the shark of a divorce attorney need to do? Plan and successfully execute weddings at his sisters establishment on the family land - or that land will go to developers. Rhys is ready to buckle down and get it done, except his first client happens to be a woman he's seen in a courtroom before - when he was helping her ex get almost everything taken away from her. Now he's here to finalize her wedding to a new man, who seems decidedly shifty before their big day.

I loved this one! The chemistry between Rhys and Eden was phenomenal. He had spent so long developing a persona of a cold, uncaring shark. Yet around Eden he couldn't help but to be kind, thoughtful and considerate. It brought them together in a slow and steady way, that it wasn't surprising when feelings developed and lines were blurred.

I loved how Rhys put Eden first, and still let himself lead with his heart. I adored how closed off and cautious Eden was, and that she had boundaries and expectations that she not only enforced with her ex, but with her own happiness moving forward.

This wasn't just a road-trip romance about two people forced into close proximity and chemistry developing. This was a novel about someone who hasn't been shown enough love, finally letting herself be loved in the right way, at the pace she was comfortable with. Rhys working at her level, making changes in his own life to support her, and showing up in both quiet and loud ways made this such a touching and fun novel, and I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Thank you to @netgalley and @serenabellbooks and Jesus Media Group for the ARC opportunity!

Although this is the first of the Hott brother series I have read, I am quickly backtracking to read the first 3 before the 5th comes out!!

This story was such an adventure to read! It was a fun and quick rom-com that I couldn’t put down. The concept of a jilted bride being rescued by her ex husband’s divorce attorney turned temporary wedding planner? Genius. I felt like everything from the characters to the plot pacing worked for this book and I’m happy to recommend it to fellow small town romance lovers. And guess what? It comes out TOMORROW! 🤗

Sadly, I did not realize this was a series. I read the description and felt I would enjoy the book and while it is a series they seem to be interconnected stand-alones. The book gets right to the point, which was nice! I do feel like the storyline was a bit rushed, but I did enjoy the short chapters. It kept me wanting more! Rhys may seem like a grump, but he is a big teddy bear when it truly matters! I now want to go back and read all the previous books.

I enjoyed following Rhys and Eden on their adventure and feeling them slowly getting attached to each other. Their chemistry was good and I loved them together. Although, I couldn't really get attached to any characters. This is probably my fault since I haven't read the first 3 books though. Also, the pacing was a bit odd for me. I expected a bit more twists and turns with the plot and wasn't really satisfied with the ending. Overall very cute and fun read!

Thank you Netgalley for an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest opinion 🫶🏽

This is the 4th book in the series which follows a divorce lawyer who wants to help the jilted bride he has been trying to avoid. This was such a cute book and picks up after book 3’s aftermath; however, this book could be read as a standalone. I loved the storyline and had so much fun with it. The conflicts made the story enjoyable, and I loved the adventure the couple went on. I would say the pacing was fast for majortity of the book but I did realize it slowed down at the end. This book is told from dual pov of both Rhys and Eden.

Rhy is a NYC divorce lawyer who ends marriages and doesn’t comitment to relationships. However, he has to help his sister and is the wedding planner for Eden’s wedding. I liked his character and seeing his love for Eden develop. He cares for his family and I loved seeing his growth for when he left town. Then we have Eden who has been jilited and with Rhys hitting on her, she doesn’t want another relationship. I loved her character and hoenstly she’s bada** for still going after her stuff and not crying. There are many side charcters with some new ones. The romance is enemies to friends to lovers, he falls first, sunshine x grumpy, and slow burn. I do wish we did see the couple together longer and see them communicate more like the other couples did in the series.

The ending was well done, and I am excited for the last brother. He’s a complete mysterious and we don’t know anything about him. I recommend checking out this series but it would be more enjoyable if you start from book 1.

Jilted bride Eden is upset..some about being left at alter but because her quilts for her show are with the runaway groom.
Rhys who per his grandfather's will must help with a wedding. Rhys does what any good planner would do, grabs Eden and helps her track down the quilts.
The adventure is funny and laughable. These two have a past working together when Eden divorced her husband Teller. Rhys was the attorney for Teller and he still hated represent Teller.
These two have a chemistry they both try to ignore but both fail.
Eden feels that Rhys has done more thoughtful things on the 2 day trip than both her ex husband and ex boyfriend. He cared and he listened.
When Rhys makes a move to move back to Oregon from New York, he feels he wants Eden and a quiet life around her and his family.
Funny how a badass attorney falls a lady and forever. Rhys thinks Eden is his HEA.

This was . . . fine? Maybe I would have liked it better if I had read the other books in the series, but this book didn't really make me want to read the other books, so I'm not sure. The pacing of the book was a little odd and Rhys didn't seem like a real person much of the time. It's also an interesting choice to have Eden be the daughter of a pop star we are all supposed to know but no one in the town cares and also it only affects her intermittently? Anyways I would consider another book by the author but it might take a minute.

I received a free ARC from NetGalley.

Loved it!
The dislike to lovers trope can often feel a bit too unrealistic with a mad sudden rush to the HEA but running Hott took a different route and I really enjoyed it.

Eden is about to embark on her second marriage and somehow the wedding planner is the lawyer who represented her ex and helped tear her life apart. Rhys has been attracted to her since day one and when the opportunity comes to redeem his previous misdeeds he takes it with both hands.

I adored the road trip chemistry as Rhys’ determination not to act on his feelings is worn away but even more so I loved the dedication Eden puts into herself. Needing time and allowing love in slowly was written beautifully.

I can’t wait for Tuckers book !

It was a fun read that had me hooked. This was a first book from the author and from the series. I really liked it and will pick up the rest of the series.

This was a really cute book. The two of them are now really against being in relationships but also want to be in one with each other. She is so scared that he's just going to run away but Rhys has to show her that he's not going anywhere and it's really cute groveling.

I received an arc through netgalley.

I really enjoyed this book!
It is a fast-paced book, and I read it very quickly.
The couple is a chef's kiss.
Rhys and Eden are our MCs.
Rhys is a divorce attorney. Rhys has to take over his sister's wedding planning business to save the family land.
Eden, a quilter, has been jilted, left at the altar, and is utterly devastated and desperate.
Rhys ends up getting her out of the wedding venue.
Eden needs the quilts in the back of now ex-fiancé's car for her shop. Rhys is the one who takes her to the quilts.
Paul is on the run, and so this ends up being a crazy road trip.
This story was funny. I laughed out loud multiple times.
The two end up finding they have amazing chemistry, and the spice doesn't disappoint.
A road trip between enemies turns into an enemies-to-lovers romance.
The characters are developed.
The plot is well structured, and the pace is fast.
This is a great addition to your TBR!
Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this ARC!
Happy Reading!
