Another brilliant book by Kristen Bailey. It was funny and cute and sexy from beginning to end. It was perfect and I always love when the main characters are teachers too so that was a bonus!

This was the perfect summer read!! A flirty, chaotic rom-com about Suzie, a French teacher recovering from a breakup, who has a whirlwind holiday fling in Mallorca, only to discover her mystery man is the new Spanish teacher at her school.
The main characters’ banter was so funny and just the right amount of flirty. The whole vibe is giving vacation romance meets workplace chaos, with gorgeous settings and a surprising bit of emotional depth that hits you in between the laughs and spice. I loved that their relationship was very realistic, which I wasn’t expecting for a rom-com.
For me it wasn’t a perfect 5⭐️, but it was a super fun, feel-good read. Perfect if you’re in the mood for drama, laughs, and a little heat.

A fabulous way to spend some summertime

Suzie Cavanaghs life imploded when an uber driver lets slip that her partner is cheating on her. Heartbroken she leaves to stay with her cousins and lick her wounds and is talked into a girls trip to Mallorca.

Charlie's life is imploding, due to a technical issue by his former partner he has to move his life and start afresh, and he has to attend his brothers stag do, in Mallorca with some of his brothers more dubious friends.

One night in Mallorca the girls go for a skinny dip but Suzie finds herself split from the group and is starting to get into difficulties she is rescued by a Spanish Yoga teacher called Carlos.

The same night Charlie is walking the beach wanting a break from the stag do when he rescues a beautiful French girl from the water called Aurelie, Charlie is hooked but when a missed communication means they lose contact Charlie just racks it up to experience.

After the summer Suzie is starting a new job as a french teacher at a secondary school, she is quite surprised to meet the new Spanish teacher, his name is Charlie but she knew him as Carlos.

They decide to act professional but whilst on a school trip to Seville the sparks begin to fly but can a relationship really work when the two people were pretending to be other people when they started out.

This was a fabulous book, I read it in a couple of days when I was on holiday, the characters are engaging and yes you know where the story is going but its not about the ending its about the journey.

A great summer read.

First of all I would like to thank NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is another fantastic book by Kristen Bailey and had me laughing throughout. The story and characters were both fantastic and was a really enjoyable read. It’s a perfect beach read and is one I will be recommending to family and friends to read when they have the chance.

There is some spice in this story but is probably the same level found in her other books.

Can’t wait to read what’s coming next as Kristen is one of my favourite rom com authors at the moment!

A summery, sweet and fun story of two teachers whose one night stand turns into something far more complicated. Suzie, newly single and nursing a broken heart, heads to Mallorca for a holiday expecting nothing more than sun, sangria and time with her cousins. Instead, she meets “Carlos,” a handsome Spaniard who sweeps her off her feet during a late-night skinny dip. The chemistry is instant and undeniable.

Back in London, Suzie’s shock is complete when “Carlos” turns up at her school as the new Spanish teacher. Only his name is actually Charlie, and both are left to navigate the awkwardness of knowing far more about each other than most new colleagues do. The banter is great, the anticipation is well built and the romantic tension simmers beautifully, especially when they are thrown together again on a school trip to Seville.

A perfect light-hearted beach read with just the right mix of humour, heat and heart.

DNF'd past halfway through.

I just couldn't really get into the book unfortunately...
I found it pretty annoying how they met and that the sex was IMMEDIATELY involved. I found this a bit weird for me,

Suzie Callaghan, a heartbroken French teacher, heads to Mallorca for a holiday with her cousins, and unexpectedly falls for a charming Spaniard named "Carlos" after a steamy encounter. Their holiday romance, built on white lies and missed moments, takes a twist when "Carlos" turns out to be Charlie Shaw, the new Spanish teacher at her school. Forced to work together while pretending nothing happened, tensions rise as unresolved feelings linger. When they’re stuck together as chaperones on a school trip to Seville, their undeniable chemistry reignites, challenging them to see if their holiday fling could be something more.

This cute and quick read delivered more than just a fun vacation romance—the twist of mistaken identity and unexpected reunion back home added depth and surprise. The characters were all genuinely likeable, and weren’t just there to serve the plot; they each had real backstories and personalities that made the story feel grounded, even as the romance between Suzie and Charlie ebbed and flowed. There were plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, and the satisfying ending tied everything together perfectly.

This was such a fun and feel-good read, packed with humor, heart, and just the right touch of romance. The characters felt lively and relatable, each bringing their own quirks and charm to the story. I loved the playful banter moments that kept the tone light, while still weaving in more heartfelt, emotional beats that gave it depth.

The holiday setting added an extra layer of coziness and escapism, making it the kind of story you can curl up with and easily get lost in. While some parts were a little predictable, the energy, warmth, and character chemistry more than made up for it.

A solid 4 stars funny, heartwarming, and the perfect pick-me-up read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for an ARC of this novel. With the current heat wave in my hometown, it turned out to be the perfect summer read! Published on July 18, 2025, this charming romance captures all the warmth and sparkle of a sun-soaked holiday.

The story follows two twenty-something Londoners: Suzie, a newly single French teacher on a girls’ getaway to Mallorca with her cousins, and Charlie, a Spanish teacher visiting the island for his brother’s stag party. When their paths cross, sparks fly, leading to a whirlwind holiday romance—only for them to unexpectedly reunite as new colleagues at the same school back in London.

Bailey delivers a delightful blend of humor, heart, and sizzling chemistry. I loved the well-drawn characters, the believable relationships, and the strong family bonds that gave the story extra depth. It’s the kind of book that makes you smile from start to finish.

A truly fun, feel-good summer read that’s as refreshing as a cool drink on a hot day. Highly recommended!

What happens in Mallorca does not stay in Mallorca, it follows Suzy and Charlie back to London, to the same department at school.

What follows is continued sizzling interest, but has to be navigated around complex secrets and obligations.

I loved Charlie, he was super nice and kind. Suzy has been hurt and has a lot to work through and she knows it, but she's strong enough. I loved the various locations where the story plays out. I loved Suzys cousins and the kids at school. Just overall this was a nice, fell good story with lol moments and real heartache.

I do feel like this book will be good for some but for me I just had to DNF after 3 weeks of barely making progress I am giving up. I think having a spicy chapter straight off the bat was not for me and just made me loose interest straight away.

Thank you so much for this opportunity and I’m sorry it was not for me

Imagine coming home from vacation thinking you'll never see your hot fling again and then you run into him at your new job. Yikes! This one was cute and fun - truly enjoyed it!

I had such a great time reading this book! It pulled me in right from the start and kept me turning the pages. The writing flowed so well, and I found myself completely invested in the story and characters. It’s one of those reads you just don’t want to put down.
huge thanks to the publisher for sending me an early copy!! I’m so glad I got to read it ahead of the release day and can't wait for the world to get to enjoy it too!!

Meh. This was reasonably enjoyable, but lacked any kind of character development or strong storyline. I get it's supposed to be a light and fluffy summer read about a couple who meet on holiday and then meet again back home in London but....This just lacked the charm of other books I've read by Kristen Bailey. A lot of the conversations and situations just felt very staged, very cliche and cringe. And while I can take a certain amount of fluff and fun I need something more substantial at times to fill out the story. It's attempted, certainly, as Suzie and Charlie come from similar backgrounds with no living parents, but the backstory felt forced to me and I just couldn't get myself to feel anything for these characters and their relationship.

A fun read, but for me not all that memorable. I'll stick to Kristen Bailey Christmas books.

{ The mattress undulating up and down, the waves rolling in line with my spine, my arms firmly by my side.
‘I think it's too soft.”
I don't answer
‘No purchase, it needs to be firmer. Let me change position and see if it makes a difference.’
‘It won't. You're right, it's too soft. I'll do my back in on this,’ I say. I turn my face to the side to see an Asian family watching Lucy curiously as she bounces on the mattress like a cat. Probably not what IKEA anticipated when they invited us to try out their mattresses. But I guess they've never met my cousin.
‘You talk about your back like you're an old woman...’ }

Four locations. Three Reasons. Two hearts and One Epic Romance. Would you take the risk?

| Carlos, a local Spaniard and hero of damsels in distress by day, yoga teacher by trade, cool, confident, and knowledgeable in all things, is someone you wish to be. He speaks and knows all things Spanish; his muscles and smile are dangerous to fall for.

Unlike Charlie, a Spanish teacher who is literally running away from his old life, his old girlfriend, and a shocking event involving a sock! He had to move from his last home and his job to settle for one he found at the last moment. It was his brother's stag do, and he HAD to come and look after him because no one else would.
Cool, reliable Charlie. Always there if you need him.
No, nothing links these two men.

Aurelia, a rich daughter of a French champagne merchant who possibly owns a villa that has more secrets wrapped up inside its walls than you could possibly know about. Her beauty and confidence make her alluring and tempting.

Unlike Suzie, Plain Suzie, the woman who found out she was being cheated on through the local delivery guy. At her cousin's insistence, she followed them to Mallorca for a birthday frenzy of sun, sunscreen, and sunsets, obviously... and if anything else happens along the way..
All that waited for her back home was a job and the scattered remains of her old life she is trying hard to forget.
No, nothing links these two women.

But Mallorca, London, Seville, and Paris all have one thing in common: Love. Love can be found in all these places. As long as you don't allow outside noise inside or interfere with what fate has in store for you. |

From the moment I met Suzy, I loved her. And I knew from the first chapter that this author was going to be a new favorite of mine. I was drawn in straight away by Suzie and the heartbreak that awaited her, wanting to punch Paul in the goolies, or better yet, let Lucy at him.

Lucy was by far my favorite person, although Charlie and Suzy had my vote from the 'Skinny Dip.' I couldn't help but laugh and almost cry whenever she appeared in the book.
I feel really stupid because this book made me go through so many emotions all at once. I burst out laughing and had to explain myself to my daughter, who I made jump out of her skin.

The language, the camaraderie between the girls, reminded me instantly of what I'm like with my cousins. I felt that connection there, and I think if I had been in Lucy's situation, or one of my cousins had, I would have done the same for her as Suzy's cousins protected and kept her safe.

It made me laugh out loud, cry; I hated Charlie then loved him, and nearly stopped reading when Paul came into it—I WAS THAT INVESTED!

But it's okay. I like it when books look at reality and reflect it, and the reality is, sometimes things don't work out. This story offered that glimpse; it wasn't a simple hero bringing flowers and a maiden waiting on him to do that.
It felt like I was reading about real people going through shitty situations and getting tied in lots of examples of their life they had no way of explaining.

I loved it. Every. Single. Part.
And I'm buying a copy because I need to read it again, maybe when I'm on holiday next in Mallorca.

OHH CARLOSS.. 😘😂😍

From the first page, it had me hooked and making me laugh along the way.
This book was hilarious and had me giggling. . I loved how this book was written from both perspective from Susie and Charlie. I loved the dialogue from both. Plus with the references to France and Spanish and some of the language which I always love to read other languages. A brilliant Summer read.

Such a fun summer read! In this romantic comedy you get to know and love both Suzie and Charlie as life keeps bringing them together. This story was the perfect combination of comedy and romance while also touching on some very emotional topics. I love the support Suzie gets from all of her cousins and the magnetic pull she and Charlie have with each other. Well written and kept me wanting to pick it up, I highly recommend reading!
