This picture book follows a young boy, Alfie, as he learns about his mom’s pregnancy and the way that the baby grows in the womb including milestones like the ultrasound and baby kicking and paired with the fruits and vegetables that the fetus is compared with. I think this is a great book for young children who are preparing for a younger sibling. I would recommend this book for children in the 2-6 range. The illustrations are colourful and interesting, I think children will enjoy it. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for giving me the chance to read and review this book!

Such a sweet and funny read! I loved Alfie’s excitement about becoming a big brother and the clever fruit-and-veggie comparisons for the baby’s growth. The bright, charming illustrations make this a perfect pick for families preparing for a new sibling.

this was such a cute little book! it’s always difficult reading these children’s books on a kindle but it’s a book i would definitely buy to read to my kids, i’m pregnant with my last baby(s) so it would be great to help teach and help my current two kids understand more about the babies in my belly and the countdown as well. It’s also such a cute illustration too, I always look forward to them.

I read this book to my 3 1/2 year old who is about to be a big sister. She enjoyed the illustrations a lot and was able to relate to the snuggling of the belly and the part where Alfie is hiding with his dog under a blanket tent. My kids all love to do that. I enjoyed the art and mention of how big baby was at each stage, but I feel like a few more weeks could have been added because it was very short and my daughter didn’t quite understand why Alfie was calling the baby “honeydew” and whatnot. I had to explain to her that the baby was approximately that size at that time. It might be more helpful to include a small space at the bottom of the pages to say what is going on during development in a kid-friendly way (ex. Baby is as big as a ______ and can hear Alfie’s voice this week!). The story is simple and cute overall. Thank you NetGalley and Tundra Book Group for the opportunity to read this to my daughter and review this title.

This is a warm, inviting book perfect for pregnant families welcoming their second baby. Parents can use this as a tool for siblings to begin to develop a relationship with the baby before they even arrive. This surely will help ease the transition when the baby is born. I appreciate the additional feature of the baby growth poster so the older sibling can understand how big baby is, in a developmentally appropriate way, compared to different fruits. It would be helpful to have the text a bit bolder/larger. I'd definitely would have deeply valued this book while pregnant with my second.

Thanks to Net Galley and Tundra Book Group for the ARC! This book is exactly what parents have needed! Alfie is becoming a big brother and his parents are involving him throughout the "growing" process. Using food items as references to the size of the baby, Alfie incorporates that into his daily life. the illustrations match the words perfectly. I would highly recommend this to any parent, aunt/uncle, etc!

Cute story about a young boy waiting for a younger sibling and going through normal toddler moments - birthdays, tantrums, big feelings, as well as sharing the milestones in fetal development (i.e., kicking, size of a cantaloupe, etc.). My toddler would love this one.

Four-year old Alfie is quite unsure how to feel when he first learns that a baby sibling is on the way (and he's especially surprised to find that said sibling is only the size of a lemon pip!) But as the weeks go on, Alfie talks more and more to the baby, sharing all kinds of big brotherly advice and secrets.

This is a delightful, sweet story with whimsically adorable illustrations. Perfect for any soon-to-be older sibling!

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for providing me with a free eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Hello Baby, It’s Me, Alfie, is a sweet and gentle child’s interpretation of their new baby sibling growing and being on the way. This book includes a whimsically drawn chart of fruit correlating to an unborn babies size each week of pregnancy. This book will certainly serve as a fun tool for newly growing families, and I look forward to adding it to my library’s parenting section.
