I struggled with this book. I am a history buff rather than an academic so the level of facts about units unit numbers and ordanance detracted from the overall description of Guderian and the German panzers advance through the depths of Russia in 1941.
I haven't completed the book. I am only a third of the way through but will try to complete it gradually. Hence with the reason given above for my low score.
It might be my fault trying to absorb everything over several days.
It would be interesting to see what someone with a better head for facts and who is more of an academic thinks of the book.
