Good conceptually - the tie-ins from the story to the recipes are nice. The recipes seem few and far between for a cookbook though.

A cookbook I love and cannot wait to get it when it comes out. More Ghibli foods for the soul and I love it

A cute concept, although the recipes are a bit basic without adding much from the storyline. There is a huge sweeping intro to each recipe involving story explanations and I love that, but then the recipe introduced is extremely simple (Spoiler: fried egg on bread.) I'm not saying simple recipes have no space in a cookbook, but there are not many recipes compared to the number of story pages and many of them are extremely simple, I only saw about three recipes of interest that tied into the story--the rest were either overly simple or a stretch to relate.

Very cute and fun! As with the Totoro edition of these cookbooks I enjoyed that the story was woven throughout the recipes. This is definitely heartier fare, good for colder months and for sharing with others. I liked the range of approachability of the recipes, and thought it was a nice touch that the iconic fried egg on bread is boosted by baking the bread yourself. I would definitely like to try a couple of these recipes once autumn rolls around.

This is a wonderful cookbook, both for its respect for the film, and its ease of use. The recipes are well described alongside pictures and technique tips. Love Studio Ghibili and Castle in the Sky, this would be so fun to use in a read & watch party.

The book both gives context for the dishes inside, as well as the recipes. The food looks great and covers dishes from easy (literal fried egg on bread) to more difficult full meals. Great for the Ghibli lovers! If anything, I would hope for a few more dishes, but making dishes outside of the source material is perhaps out of the scope of this work.
