Although I am not a teacher, I am a mother to two young daughters and the ideas and advice given in this book will be invaluable, There are so many ideas for me to try with my daughters, both educational and fun. I also really appreciate the advice for SEND children as we are all neurodivergent and I can find it very challenging catering to my own needs whilst also trying to guide them in the correct way as well.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to read and review - this is a must have for my bookshelf.

As a teacher moving to KS1 in September in a school that has a forest setting I was interested to read this book. This will be a fantastic and invaluable resource for teachers, parents and educators whom want to get children learning and having fun outdoors. It covers a wide variety of subjects and offers tips on safety, how to adapt for different subjects.

I was not aware of the muddy puddle approach as a structured framework before.
I highly recommend this book to teachers and parents to help children grow, support and guide them towards spending more time in nature, outdoors, moving and being curious. It helps them keep their spark.
The exercises and tips are well explained and thought.

As someone who hadn’t worked with the Muddy Puddle teaching method before, I picked up this book hoping to learn more about the approach.

The layout is visually engaging, with vibrant colours and accessible text that makes it easy to follow. The collage-style graphics might feel a little cut-out at first glance, but they actually suit the playful, hands-on tone of the book really well.

What stood out most to me was how inclusive this method could be, especially for neurodivergent children. Its emphasis on movement, sensory experience, and learning through play creates space for all types of learners to thrive.
I loved the practical ideas provided in this book and I’ve already marked down a few to try in my own class.
My only critique is that I would have liked to see a reference section with sources or research to support the methodology. That extra layer would make the book even stronger, especially for educators who like to connect their practice with theory.

Overall this was a good book and I will be using the things I learned.

Thank you for providing me with a arc copy
