Helpful, with great steps to follow, but a bit more context would help, especially to help understanding the scenarios for the steps. The prose was good, and flowed well, making everything easily digestible, if a little impersonal.

This is a good book with lots of exercises to work on healing past hurts. I would score it higher but there is no information at all about the author and she does not seem to have any training or education in psychology. Another reviewer said that it felt like it was written by AI and I think that could be true. It’s still helpful, but personal information and support from a real professional who has practiced in the field could have improved it.

I read a digital copy of this book via netgalley.

Unfortunately, this book read like AI wrote it. There were no personal stories or realistic ebb and flow and the layout and prose was 100% bullet points and to-dos. I realize it's a "step-by-step guide" but it was lacking human emotion and substance I appreciate relating to in these guides. Therefore, it left me underwhelmed and bored.

Thank you Net Galley for the opportunity to preview this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have been interested in working on my “inner child” so I was attracted to this book. It is not very long, but packed with information and things for you to work on. A really interesting read and I enjoyed the workings. I think this book is deep and will be very personal and different for everyone reading.

This is a great book and it helped me to start my reflection about past traumas and how to start connection with my inner child. The book is well structured, the content is interesting and there are practical information on "how to do it". The exercises and tips are really useful and the subjects treated are important ones. I didn't work on the activities mentioned as seriously as I wanted for this first lecture but this was indeed a first contact for me with those themes that I want to explore further. And this book is a great first step into this new way of thinking about our past and what are its consequences in our daily adult lives. Thank you BooksGoSocial for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

As an adult that is carrying around a lot of baggage from my childhood, I'm always drawn to books that help me dive deeper into that area of my life. This book has some really great step by step guides for how to do that. I especially loved a lot of the references to other sources to confirm much of the advice. I would recommend this book for anyone seeking to dig deeper into their past and work through issues that they may want to resolve. Excellent information here.

Loved this deeply insightful and practical guide for anyone seeking to reconnect with and nurture their inner child. What makes this book especially valuable is how it weaves psychological tools, with exploratory questions, offering multiple ways to begin healing. One of the standout aspects is the exploration of how family roles, unspoken rules, and early dynamics shape our emotional patterns and behaviors as adults. The author provides a way in to explore these internalized structures and shows readers how to gently uncover and understand them. The book doesn’t just explain why inner child work matters—it offers concrete tools and methods to engage in the healing process. From journaling prompts to visualization exercises and boundary-setting practices, this little book is filled with lots of ways to begin the healing journey.
