I knew very little about Juliet Prowse but remember her from GI Blues. This book was a terrific overview of her life, both personal and professional, and was told with love and respect. It’s not a sensationalistic Hollywood expose, but rather an account of an interesting career and the woman who lived it. It’s also a fascinating snapshot of society and the world of entertainment at that time, highlighting the challenges Ms Prowse faced in achieving her success.

The author is so fortunate to discover a plethora of letters along with being able to interview those that knew her Aunt Juliet. For those that are familiar with Juliet Prowse the book offers an insight into her life and world. Younger generations might be intrigued by the title hoping for a story that they can resonate with only to be disappointed by the way the author told it through her chronological telling of the story. There seems to be a lack of story that would engage the reader. The story can possibly be a screenplay for a movie.
