This book was a hoot, and definitely a super quick and fun romance which made an excellent palette cleanser for me.

The book follows Hannah, who is at breaking point when she accepts a job working for a phone sex hotline, “Call Me Anytime”, in order to try and support herself and her mother, who has Alzheimer’s Disease. However, no sooner than she accepts the job, she becomes wrapped up in assisting the Nashville police solve a crime involving the murder two previous girls who previously worked at Call me Anytime, meeting Detective Dominic Dunn in the process.

This book was a load of fun, and the writing style kept me reading all the way through. I loved the chemistry between Hannah and Dom, and their banter felt super easy and authentic. I also felt that the spicy scenes were really well handled, and felt sweet and loving while also still being fun.

I think this book has suffered a bit from an excessive edit - while it still flows really well, there are some plot points that feel like they have been wrapped up too quickly, and while the romance is still believable, it could be described as a bit insta-love. I also feel it is definitely more romance heavy than mystery focused, when I was perhaps expecting a bit more of an even split of writing time.

However, this book really does not take itself too seriously, and keeps it’s sense of light and fun, even when dealing with heavier topics like the difficulty of dealing with illness in the family, or the emotional trauma suffered by women taking part in sex work.

If you are looking for an upbeat and fun novel, part mystery, but mostly romance, then definitely check this out.

I’m ALL for a slow burn, but 70% before we get to the first date?

Also, the jaded wife plot? Overdone.
I really thought, for some reason, it was going to be Monica. And that would’ve made for a much better twist.

Max Monroe's upcoming book, Call Me Anytime is a hilarious, sexy, emotional, fun story that will completely consume you. Featuring a virgin phone sex operator and a secret billionaire detective, I laughed, I teared up and I rooted hard for the characters.

Hannah May is an awesome character. She's witty, smart, strong, determined, and so funny. As a 25 year old virgin, she's dedicated her life to taking care of her mother who has Alzheimer's. She gets desperate for money and takes a job as a phone sex operator. Because of her lack of experience, she bumbles her way through calls in spectacular fashion. It's absolutely hilarious! Her first caller is Detective Dominic Dunn who is investigating two murders. She thinks his call is a prank until he and his partner show up at her office to start wiretapping her line. Dom is gorgeous, smart, strong, funny, and the heir to Dunn Coffee. These two immediately hit it off and their banter kept me laughing throughout. Dom is one swoony character. This man goes out of his way for Hannah and it was so refreshing! I loved seeing him interact with Hannah and her mom Sherry. He is seriously book boyfriend material!! Dom and Hannah go through quite a few bumps and bruises but they eventually find their happily ever after.

Call Me Anytime is another feather in the cap of this talented author duo. Their signature wit and outrageousness are on full display, but coupled with softer, more emotional aspects, makes this a well-rounded story. I'm really digging these multi-faceted stories that hit harder and give you that emotional gut punch. Call Me Anytime is a joy to read. 5 stars

Call Me Anytime is everything you’d hope for in a Max Monroe rom-com: wit, chemistry, and characters you genuinely root for. The banter is laugh-out-loud funny, and the text/phone-call dynamic adds a playful twist that keeps the story moving and makes the connection between Dom and Trina feel modern and relatable.

I love that we get quite a bit of background for Trina - her mom's Alzheimer's, her dad's death, etc. However, I would have liked some more on Dom. He was such a great character, that I just wanted to know more? Why is he the Karaoke Cowboy? Why does he still do it, even 15 years later?

The leads are both charming in their own way—quirky but grounded—and their romance strikes a nice balance between steamy and sweet. Max Monroe does a great job layering humor with just enough emotional depth to give the story substance.

Throughly enjoyed this book … Hannah caring for her beloved mum who is suffering from early onset Alzheimer’s finds herself in need of a job, thinking she’s interviewing for a tele-sales role she finds herself manning the ‘Ruby’ line at Call Me Anytime a sex chat line . Soon she finds herself embroiled in a murder investigation with one of the officers being Dom who she soon finds herself falling for . A good read murder, romance with some steamy scenes thrown in with a good background story of caring for an ailing relative .

Call Me Anytime had me giggling so hard! Hannah is a heroine after my heart, taking the job at Call Me Anytime thinking it's one thing when the job is definitely something... else. Her awkwardness is the most glorious... I don't have enough descriptive words for the crazy things Hannah comes up with to say to the guys on the phone but it's delightfully and splendidly awkward. And the easy rapport Dom is able to build with Hannah after their own hilarious introduction is sweet, as is the connection he makes with her mom. There are so many fun layers to both Hannah and Dom and the friends and family that surround them.. I already can't wait to do a re-read. From beginning to end, Call Me Anytime packs in humor and all the heart.

4.5 Stars
Call Me Anytime was one of those books that was a lot of fun to read. Hannah and Dom met in an unconventional way. Trying to make enough money to keep everything afloat in her life, Hannah takes a telemarking job that turns out to be a phone sex line. She has no experience with that sort of thing and her calls are awkwardly hilarious. Dom comes from an affluent family but instead of working with them, he followed his heart to becoming a detective. When a couple of related murders finds Dom and his partner surveying Hannah's phone calls, he becomes her protector. What starts as a friendship of sorts turns into a sweet romance between them, all while the murder mystery unfolds. I loved everything about their relationship, but the thing that stood out the most in this book was how Hannah had to deal with her mother's Alzheimer's, Sherry's love for and thinking NCIS was a real part of her life, and the way Dom knew how to be supportive and helpful to it all. That part of the story was sad, but also refreshingly humorous and heartwarming. I loved how this story and romance played out, even when it felt like it was a little slow to start for me and then a tad rushed in the end. Overall, it was just a really great book.

Dominic and Hannah

Hannah is struggling to find a job and now sits at another interview, some telemarketer job. She has a lot on her plate and needs money asap. As the woman goes on about the job, Hannah realizes the job isn’t exactly what she thought it was. More shockingly, is Hannah is saying yes to the job.

Dominic and his partner Shane are investigating a crime scene. They find a cell phone and Dom calls the number. Ruby answers and it’s an adult type conversation, Ruby thinking that Dom is just role playing the detective part. Dom and Shane go to talk to Ruby, aka Hannah, and she explains it was her first day on the job. The guys explain the investigation they are doing and how they will be monitoring her calls.

Back at work, Hannah has a few problems. First, the adult phone calls she takes, she’s very inexperienced, like never, so she’s quite awkward. Add in the hot detective listening In and the fact she may be talking to a criminal when she answers, and her awkwardness turns to chaotic rambling. So Dom now has to sit in with her to give her tips and help her with the conversations. But this becomes a problem, as Dom and Hannah start to like each other, a line he should not be crossing.

The banter in this is everything. Go in with an open mind, a light, fun, easy book to read and that’s what it will be. I can see some things with the criminal, and then with the couple’s lack of communication but it resolves quickly and overall this was entertaining.

Very much a light hearted romcom. This book reminds me of Max Monroe’s Billionaire Bad Boys series. Easy to read and funny. I found myself flying through it and just one more chapter-ing, it was never just one more chapter!

What a duo! A sex hotline worker and a detective! This Max Monroe book has all the right elements for a rom-com hit.

The FMC, Hannah, is a strong lead character. She is a caretaker for her mother who has Alzheimer’s. In order to support her mother, she takes a job at a sex hotline. She has no experience in this line of work but she is willing to do whatever it takes to support her mom. The lack of experience leads to some pretty funny and at times awkward and quirky conversations at the hotline.

Dom, the MMC, is a police detective that ends up investigating a murder that is related to the sex hotline. Hannah ends up helping with the investigation. Dom and Hannah form a connection and a banter filled romance. Dom is also super sweet and supportive to both Hannah and her mom which I loved.

I also loved Dom’s very welcoming and wonderful family. They are so kind and open hearted towards Hannah and her mom.

Overall if you love a rom-com with found family, and a quirky meet cute than this book is for you.

Thanks to NetGalley and Montlake for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Hannah May needs a new job asap to help with her desperate financial situation at home. Her Mom’s early onset Alzheimer’s is progressing, and Hannah needs to make good money to help with the cost. She thinks she finds a new telemarketing company but its actually a job as a phone sex operator.

Detective Dominic Dunn is looking for a murderer who he believes is attacking women who work at Hannah’s new job. Can they work together to help solve the case, and how about their clear chemistry?

***Romantic suspense
***Dual POV
***She’s a virgin
***25/35 age gap

I have loved many Max Monroe novels and this is definitely now included in the mix. This was a fun murder mystery with tons of hilarious moments and romance thrown in. I really loved the FMC Hannah; the hardship with her Mom’s Alzheimer’s was really a beautiful telling of what loved ones experience.

This felt much different than the authors’ other novels, but it was a pleasant surprise!

Thank you to Montlake and Netgalley for the ARC of this novel; all opinions are my own.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for this arc! Max monroe is a newer author for me and I am starting to like their work!

"A virgin phone sex operator. A detective. And a murder." Excellent start of a blurb.

It was entertaining to read how these two people met and how they ended up working together and, therefore, getting to know each other. Hanna's awkwardness during those phone conversations with the clients was funny as well.

I would say this book is more of a romantic suspense than anything else, which is not what I'm used to reading from these rom-com queens, but it was always great read.

This book has got me CACKLING like a crazy ol’ witch ! 🤣 🤣
Hannah(FMC) is a 25 year old virgin who end ups with a phone sex hotline job…. And her dirty talk made me LAUGH OUT LOUD…. Then her specific hotline ends up in a murder investigation… So extremely handsome detective dunn(mmc) and his sidekick Shane have to sit in on her calls and it went from laughing out loud to straight up CACKLING … her dirty talk is absolutely cringe-worthy ! 🤣

I know the word “virgin” makes people turn away instantly BUT I will say it made her job so much more hilarious and she has a realistic reason as to why she is a virgin…

You also get to see Hannah’s home life where she is a caretaker for her mother who has Alzheimer’s whose favorite show is NCIS and pretty much makes it her entire personality since losing her memory. From someone who had to watch her great grandma decline rapidly with Alzheimer’s, I have to say that the authors did portray it in a very respectable way that will tug at your heart if you’ve ever been through it. ♥️

It was an absolutely hilarious , heart-warming, fun, sweet, quick and easy read with a hint of mystery, that I highly recommend YOU read for a great time !

THANK YOU NetGalley for my ARC copy in exchange for my honest review!

Hannah is strapped for cash and jumps at the first job opportunity she encounters. Little does she know the ad for the telemarketing role that she is interviewing for is actually a phone sex hotline. With little flexibility due to being a caretaker for mother with Alzheimer’s, Hannah quickly accepts the position despite being a virgin herself. Dominic is the detective assigned to a case that is linked to the murders of previous employees of the phone sex hotline.

I loved this – the premise felt original and it was the perfect blend of funny and emotional with a hint of mystery. There were parts that I found laugh out loud funny and others that were very sweet and emotional, particularly the family aspects. I loved how the connection between the main characters developed, it felt very natural and genuine.

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

A sweet and fun romance with plenty of emotional depth and a bit of suspense.

Hannah has been caring for her mum, who has Alzheimer’s, for a long time, and is job hunting when she inadvertently interviews for a phone sex call line and, needing the money, she takes the job,

The previous two call workers that were assigned her phone line were both murdered, but they were made to look like overdoses. Dom, a detective assigned to the case, helps Hannah when he and his partner tap into her phone line to try to catch the killer.

Hannah and Dom connect romantically and they really do suit each other. Dom is really great with Hannah’s mum and he has a lovely family. Hannah is strong, caring and smart. Coupled with Dom’s fun, protective and also caring nature, they just compliment each other really well. It’s an easy romance with not many set backs and the epilogue ties it all up nicely.

This has got to be hands down the most hilarious, out of the box and one of the best books by this duo.

I don’t know what I was expecting but it wasn’t this emotionally hilarious masterpiece that’s for sure! Hannah was adorable and so cute. She had me cracking up pretty much everytime she answered the phone and Dominic is seriously such a beastly gentleman. He definitely taught our beautiful Hannah a thing or two and I hope we get more on the ladies because they were the best.

The added mystery and NCIS refrences made this book so enthralling that I couldn’t put it downs

This is a must read for any RomCom lover because I couldn’t stop laughing and falling in love with each word I read!

I love anything that Max Monroe writes!! This was no exception. I enjoyed the different theme around this book. I love that it was a mystery instead of just all romance or some other trope. I really enjoyed this!! Everything was so good and detailed and all the loose ends were tied up. I had no idea who the killer was till they were exposed!! Well done!!

"Call Me Anytime" by Max Monroe is a hilarious and heartwarming story that had me laughing out loud from the first few pages. Hannah needs a job, and quickly. When she interviews for what she thinks is a call agent role, but is really a phone sex talk line, and now is linked to multiple murders hilarity ensues......
