No one saw her go…

First; this book was such a great summer thriller read. The description of the camp, the woods, the smells, everything, were just top notch. Made me feel as if I was right there in the summer camp!

After taking a summer job at Camp Medley, the camp her aunt Heather mysteriously vanished from in 1989. Zoey goes on a hunt to solve the cold case of her Aunt Heather’s disappearance.
Once at Camp Medley, Zoey makes a friend with the daughter of the camp owners and soon all these strange things start happening, more weird things than normal.

So many twists and turns I never saw coming! This was PERFECT!

This book kept me on my toes, on the edge of my seat, biting my nails, allll of the feels!
I loved the different timelines and POVS.

This is the 4th book I have read by Sally Royer-Derr and I continue to love her fast paced and intense thrillers!

This book is told between two timelines, both present day and 35 years in the past. Zoey has a taken a job at a summer camp where her Aunt Heather disappeared from to try and solve the mystery around what happened to her.

The story mainly is told from 2 POVs: Zoey’s in present day and Heathers leading up to her disappearance in 1989. This book moved fast and kept me hooked the entire time! While I did predict the first small twist, I didn’t see the full ending coming together the way it did. I took off the half star because I felt like the final twist tried to wrap everything up too neatly and was kind of out of left field.

Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review!

the brilliant unease i felt in this book was on point. there was that creepy something going on here feeling throughout. the dual pov where we get to really deep dive into what happened in the past and what was occurring now was a great addition to the way this is written.
Zoey has taken a summer job at camp Medley. but there is more significance to her choice as this was where he Aunt went missing decades ago.
something happened and she is here to reveal it all. but what she discovers is something far deeper and darker than she could have imagined going in.
as a reader you are hooked. and then you are teary and emotional. and then you have that bold reader anger at the injustice for the characters.
the characters described in this book was also fantastic and they keep you guessing with their trust and motives.
at times i wanted to hug Zoey but then the next minute i wanted to make her see what i was!
learning of Heather's story was so heartbreaking. i wanted to leap in there and save her from the horrid way she was treated.
i was waiting for the end and need Zoey to come good, for something good to come of all shed learnt and this book wasnt finished with me yet. a corker of a thriller that goes that layer deeper and darker than just an excited thrill.

Wow this is the most suspenseful book I’ve read in a while! The build up is slow and steady until you’ve finally gotten all the answers you’ve been frantically turning pages for. I really liked the flashbacks and getting Heather’s story. This book is suspenseful and heartbreaking. A truly emotional read.

Told from the view point of two characters from different years but parallel of their experiences from their arrival at camp. Some elements felt repetitive, particularly details of characters’ features, and some elements felt rushed. I could see the intended tension with certain moments but wasn’t particularly taken in with feeling it, though I’m not discrediting the descriptions. The ending felt obvious, as did many of the reveals. overall I enjoyed the journey of the story but I was left feeling underwhelmed.

Thank you Storm Publishing & NetGalley for the ARC.

There was no way I would have predicted the ending, it was brilliant. There was so many twists at the end which I always enjoy. Zoey has recently found out by accident that her mother had a sister called Heather that she knew nothing about. When she has the chance to go and do some work at a holiday camp which was the exact same place that her aunt went missing she applies at once for the job. Her mother isn't happy about her going but she wants to try and find out what happened to her and bring some kind of closure for her mum. The book goes back an forth from the past to the present but flows nicely. A great read.

2.5 stars, rounded up to 3 stars.

This just didn't work for me, and I'm feeling generous in the rating. This felt like a YA book; the writing style was built on repetition, with the same sentiments repeated over and over. Many things made no logical sense to me, and I just suspended belief until the book was over. The characters were unlikable, shallow, and there was no real twist for me to sink my teeth into.

On the positive, I liked the cover.

Clearly there is a market for this, as it's received a slew of good reviews -- apparently I'm not in the same market. Ah well.

Would I read more from the author? Hmmmm. Maybe.

I received a complimentary copy of the novel from the publisher and NetGalley, and my review is being left freely.

Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for my copy of No One Saw Her Go by Sally Royer-Derr.

When criminology student Zoey discovers she has an aunt who went missing years ago, she knows she's going to investigate.
She enrolls as a counselor at the same summer camp her aunt Heather went missing from, determined to find the truth.
The story is told as a dual timeline between Heather and Zoey and is quite creepy in parts.
A good storyline that did sag a little in parts but overall, well worth the read.

No One Saw Her Go by Sally Royer-Derr is a thrilling psychological drama that keeps your heart racing, with a touch of creepiness, all set in a summer camp. It's fast-paced, eerie, and packed with hidden secrets.

The story intertwines past secrets with new ones, igniting real danger, followed by feelings of sadness, betrayal, and shock as the truth gradually comes to light.
There's plenty of suspense and deep emotions, though it can feel a bit repetitive at times.
The ending aimed for a twist but didn't quite deliver in that regard.

The narrative unfolds in the present from Zoey's perspective, while Heather's story is told from the past.

Heather ran away and camped in the woods near Camp Medley, believing this was the start of her adult life. She had grand dreams and aspirations, but not all dreams come true.

Fast forward 35 years, and Zoey takes a job as a camp counsellor at the same summer camp to uncover the secrets behind her aunt Heather's disappearance. The deeper she digs, the more dangerous it becomes, putting her own life at risk.

This book gives me strong vibes of "The Last Time I Lied" by Riley Sager. If you loved that one, you will love this one.

As an ARC reader this book was really good. Trying to figure out who did what was the hard part, literally the point. I knew the family had to have something to do with what was going on. Little did I know what all was actually happening. Good twists and turns but the book was not very long. Somewhat predictable with quite a few crazy add ins and twists.

No One Saw Her Go is a dual timeline story set between 1989 and 2024 and narrated by two of the main characters. - Zoey and her aunt Heather.

Central character Zoey has just discovered her mother Jess had a younger sister – Heather. In 1989 Heather left the family home after being abused by their stepfather. She travelled to Camp Medley with boyfriend Dean, who was spending the summer there as a counsellor. For a time, Jess kept in touch, but then Heather simply stopped contacting her. Now, thirty six years later, Zoey has signed up to work as a counsellor in Camp Medley, hoping someone in the family run business will remember her aunt, and enable her to put her mother’s mind at rest.
From the day she arrives Zoey experiences an atmosphere, and any questions about her aunt are met with shrugs or denials. Those that are prepared to say anything only seem to create confusion. Added to Zoey’s search for the truth, is her need to discover the whereabouts of her boyfriend Craig. At college together, a disagreement saw him leave. He has not been seen since and is not answering his phone. As Camp Medley is not far from his home, she plans to visit and clear up the mystery once and for all.

Camp Medley is an unsettling place, run by an oddball family, where Zoey is sure people know more than they are willing to admit to. But in her quest for the truth, she soon finds her own life in danger. Woven into Zoey's story, are events from 1989, and Heather's experiences as she spends the summer there with boyfriend Dean.

The description of the camp, with its woods and ‘no go area’ increases the sinister feel about the place. All through the read, it was clear something had happened, but what? Who was responsible? And would Zoey find her long lost aunt?

.A gripping read with some unexpected twists. Recommended.

My thanks to Storm Publishing, the author and Netgalley for an ARC of No One Saw Her Go in exchange for an honest review.

First, I would like to say thank you to Netgalley, Storm Publishing, and Sally Royer-Derr for an ARC of this book.

I was hooked from the first chapter and finished it in less than 12 hours! The summer camp vibes were immaculate, and I felt like I was transported back to my camp days. Definitely a summer must read. The author did an amazing job with the back and forth timelines. It flowed so evenly, and I did not find myself lost or confused. As a true crime junkie myself, I loved reading a thriller book with a true crime plot to it as well. The first plot twist had my jaw on the floor. I thought the book tied up all loose ends without seeming super far-fetched. A 5 star read for me!

This is a book I will recommend to others for sure. The twists and turns hit and I love that we get POVs from multiple characters. Several coincidences occur, but is anything really a coincidence? I don’t think so. I loved following Zoey on her quest to discover what happened to her Aunt Heather.

No One Saw Her Go by Sally Royer-Derr is a gripping and emotional story that immediately attracted my attention through every twist and turn. It’s a compelling mix of mystery, grief, and personal transformation, and the character depth was awe-inspiring.

The story follows Clara, a mother whose teenage daughter, Ivy, vanishes without a trace. As the search unfolds, secrets begin surfacing — not just about Ivy’s life, but Clara’s. I appreciated how real and raw Clara felt. She’s not perfect — she makes mistakes, lashes out, and spirals — but she also grows. You feel her pain, confusion, and desperation, and I found myself rooting for her even when things got messy.

One of the spoilers I have to mention (so skip this if you don’t want to know!): when Ivy’s secret relationship with her teacher is revealed, it completely reframes everything we thought we knew. It added a heartbreaking and disturbing layer to the story, but it is written thoughtfully and honestly.

And then the reveal about Ivy’s fate, wow. I didn’t see it coming. The final scenes were emotional and unexpected, but still satisfying in a way that made sense for the story. It was a tragic ending, but not without meaning or closure.

The pacing was steady, the writing was engaging, and the characters felt layered and real. The only reason this is four stars instead of 5 is that a few parts dragged slightly in the middle, but overall, this was a strong and memorable read.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. No One Saw Her Go is worthwhile if you enjoy domestic suspense with emotional weight and complex characters.

I had the pleasure of once again receiving an advanced copy of No One Saw Her Go by Sally Royer-Derr—and WOW. This book was intense, gripping, and absolutely impossible to put down!

From the very first page, I was pulled into Zoey Montgomery’s world as she arrives at Camp Medley, determined to uncover the truth behind her aunt Heather’s mysterious disappearance decades ago. What starts as a personal mission quickly spirals into a chilling and suspenseful nightmare filled with secrets, rumors, and danger lurking in the shadows.

Royer-Derr masterfully crafts an atmosphere of dread, building layer upon layer of tension as strange accidents begin to happen and whispers of more missing girls surface. The twists just keep coming—each one more shocking than the last—and I was constantly second-guessing what was real, who to trust, and how it would all end.

Zoey is a smart, determined, and relatable protagonist, and I rooted for her every step of the way. The setting of Camp Medley is hauntingly vivid, and the pacing is relentless in the best possible way.

If you're a fan of dark mysteries, psychological thrillers, or stories with strong female leads and a chilling summer camp vibe, No One Saw Her Go needs to be on your reading list. Sally Royer-Derr delivers another knockout—full of twists, emotion, and edge-of-your-seat suspense.

Zoey returns to the camp her aunt went missing at over 25 years prior determined to find the truth about what happened.

Unfortunately this book fell flat for me in so many ways. The biggest con for this book for me was that it seemed to be a young adult book, but it isn't. There was SO much talk about how in love the young girls were with their boyfriends and kissing them and it simply did nothing to add to the plot at all. Also, maybe I'm crazy but the answers were given in the first 1/4 of the book and the rest of the book involved Zoey just asking the same questions expecting a different response, which was soo frustrating to me. I wanted to like this book as it sounded right up my alley, but I just didn't.

I don't know where to start with this book, maybe from my sleepless night and I blame the author. What a fantastic mystery/thriller,I honestly don't remember when last time I give 5 star to this gene.
We meet the story from Heather POV in past, and Zoey POV in present, which slowly lead to a secrets, chilling woods and heartbreaking conclusion.
Zoey takes a summer job as a camp counselor at Camp Medley, she has one to discover what happened to her aunt Heather, who vanished from the camp over thirty years earlier.I like Zoey, she just want to find out what happened so her mother can have some peace. Will she find out what happened?
I also like Heather and Dean together, such innocent and beautiful love they had for each other.I was so sad at how unfair Heather’s situation was.

This thriller was chilling to the bone, but for me it was also very emotional, and the ending?Well it left me heartbroken. Now I want another book for Zoey and happy ending for her ;).I honestly recommend this book, will be also checking out author other books.

Thank you to NetGalley, author Sally Royer-Derr and Storm publishing for the ARC and opportunity to give an honest review.

Oh my hat! This book was so good and so absolutely scary! I was really, really hoping till the very end that Heather would still be alive... The second plot twist that Mel killed Craig and buried him was totally unexpected, but then everything made sense. Mel's sleep-walking episodes were so creepy but an excellent way of pulling the reader deeper into the forest and deeper into the book and deeper into the twisted psyche of Mel's character. I could not put the book down till the very end. The book ends with so much sadness but also with much closure for Zoey and the rest of the victims families.
