Nicole Trope really knows how to wrote stories that mess with a reader’s mind!
One character was absolutely horrid from the beginning, I laughed at that character periodically because they thought they were being so smart but yet were double crossed royally and still couldn’t process it.
Admittedly I suspected everyone before little bits and pieces clicked together.
I suspected one other character because they seemed very fishy.
I loved the ending and what one of the characters had planned for the person who thought they got away Scot free.
Think again!!

This was a very twisty and turvy thriller which had me all over the place. Until about 80% in I didn't know what was happening and then things started to click together when you get the excerpts of the newspaper articles. Once I clicked onto what was going on then things started to click together and i had the AHA moment. This is an author that I will be looking into some of the previous works of.

The Therapist by Nicole Trope is a gripping read full of secrets, lies, and unreliable characters. Told from the alternating perspectives of Lana (the therapist), Sandy (the patient), and Mike (the husband), this story is packed with secrets, manipulation, and plenty of tensio where nobody is as they seem.

I flew through the short chapters, always trying to figure out who was telling the truth. There’s a steady build-up of tension, and just when I thought I had it all figured out, another twist dropped.

While I found some parts a little predictable, the final reveals were satisfying and worth sticking around for. If you enjoy psychological thrillers where you can’t trust anyone, this one’s for you!

This is a twisty story full of manipulation and bullying that had me guessing about what is true and what is a lie. The story starts slow as characters are introduced but by midway the pace picks up and I had so many questions that my head was spinning. Lana is a therapist who after a childhood as an outcast has created a life for herself where she can help others. When Ben, the other therapist in her office, comes to her with a problem and asks for her help with a client Lana makes time and steps in. Sandy, the client, tells a story that makes Lana wonder but she is compelled to help. When Sandy disappears Lana crosses a professional line in order to help but could it ruin Lana’s life. And what about Mike, Sandy’s husband, his story is different from Sandy’s but is it true? As the story races to a conclusion I wondered who is telling the truth and can Lana figure it out before it turns deadly? Full of unlikeable and unreliable characters the story had me wondering and trying to figure it out (I was wrong). I recommend it to readers that enjoy stories that leave you wondering who to trust and if the truth was ever revealed.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review – The Therapist by Nicole Trope

Wow—what a ride!

For the first 75% of this book, I kept thinking it had strong Gone Girl vibes: tense, layered, and perfectly paced. Then the last quarter hit… and I could not put it down.

Nicole Trope delivers an incredible psychological thriller full of twists and turns. Every time I thought I’d figured it all out, she surprised me with another direction I didn’t see coming.

I also loved that the story is set in Australia, with an Australian author’s voice coming through—it added an extra layer of connection for me.

An absolutely addictive read that will keep you guessing until the very end. Highly recommended for fans of twisty psychological thrillers.

We can trust our therapist, right? They are good listeners. But are they also good liars?
An outstanding thriller by Nicole Trope filled with lies, a missing person and danger! I didn’t know who to believe!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc

This book was kinda slow in the beginning, but then it picked up about half way through. I enjoyed the twists and ending. This is not my favorite book of hers, but I still liked it and will read more of her books!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC!

I received an arc copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. I almost gave up on this book several times but the only reason why I kept going was because I normally enjoy books by this author. This was definitely not a favorite. I really didn't care for any of the characters and the book did not pick up at all until about 75 percent. There were a few twists but I also felt like the ending was rushed after the book dragged on for so long. I will definitely try another book by this author but this one was not for me.

I have read almost all of Nicole Trope’s books, and I have to say this is my favorite this far. I am a therapist and had high hopes going into this that the therapist, Lana, would be portrayed in a realistic way. She met all of my expectations! This book has so many twists, it will make your head spin (in the best way). I highly, highly recommend this book and author!

Okay wow just WOW!!! this book took me on a ride I did not see coming! The Therapist is packed with twists and turns that had me second-guessing everyone and everything. Just when I thought I had things figured out… plot twist! The storyline wasn’t what I expected at all (in the best way), and it kept me flipping pages late into the night. I will say, the ending left me wanting a bit more closure—like, I needed just one more chapter to feel satisfied. But overall, this was such a good psychological thriller and I’d totally recommend it if you’re into mind games and suspense-filled reads!

This book was much slower than I thought it would be. I realized that***** was involved quite early on, but didn't realistic plans at the end. I expected there to be more suspense and energy.

Twists and turns make this thriller difficult to put down. While I had my suspicions early on, the author does a great job of throwing in many possibilities to keep the reader guessing. I wasn’t ready for the ending twists!

As a therapist takes on a client, against her better judgement, she gets embroiled in a disturbing situation she did not foresee. Will she be able to get out of it unharmed?

The book is well written and flows nicely even though it is written in multiple perspectives. It is my first by this author and won’t be my last. I’d love to hear it as an audiobook!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the arc.

The Therapist was a rollercoaster of lies, deceit, and an unreliable narrator who may or may not be a victim.

Lana is a great psychologist. She is a devoted mother to Iggy and is still recovering from a divorce. Lana has a lot of self-doubt , low self-esteem, and worries a lot. So when Ben, the other psychologist, asks her to take over a client who is becoming too emotionally attached to him and is developing mutual feelings, Lana accepts. Sandy really puts on a show for Lana. Though Lana picks up on Sandy's lies and creative storytelling, she still ends up wrapped up in Sandy's drama. And it turns deadly.

My first Nicole Trope book, and I am hooked!

Thank you, Netgalley and Bookouture, for this thrilling ARC. All opinions are entirely my own.

Although I generally enjoy Nicole Trope's work, this particular thriller did not resonate with me.
Every character is toxic, deeply flawed and morally ambiguous, contributing to a narrative that's unsettling.
The story revolves around a group of individuals whose lives are interconnected through deceit, betrayal and personal vendettas.
While the lack of a single likable character made me cringe, it serves the story well, emphasizing the darker sides of human personalities.
Thank you to the publisher/author for the opportunity to read this complimentary advanced copy. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Nicola Trope always delivers a good interesting and different read and ‘The Therapist’ again does this, with bells on

We meet Lana, a therapist who against her better judgement takes on fellow therapist Ben’s client Sandy who is in despair at her life

Lana however, even with her bad feeling has no idea just who she has taken on and the ensuing disruption and chaos she is going to bring to her life

It gave an enlightening look into the work and mind of a therapist and also her clients and we get to see just how devious people can be when they have a goal they desire

Addictive writing as always by this author made it a full on quick read where your mind is changing that quick with the events happening you may well need to book an appointment with Lana after reading it 🤗

It was slow-paced with a few interesting moments, but it never really built up the suspense I was hoping for. The ending was fine. Good for fans of psychological dramas, but not her best book. The book didnt hold my attention very well .I will read more of her books.
