I've read a few other books from this author and she's becoming one of my favorite authors! All her books are fast paced, twisty and easy to follow. This one was no exception and I loved it! This one is told in multiple POVs. Each character is unreliable and you're not sure who to trust. All the twists in this one kept me wanting to read more and I loved the ending!

3.5 stars rounded up.
Overall, I liked this book. It was fairly twisty and a fast-paced read. I enjoyed the unique storyline and thought it was pretty spot on for a domestic thriller. My two main gripes: 1) at times, the writing was pretty juvenile and 2) I figured out one of the "shady" characters was up to no good way too early in the book- thus, that part was a bit predictable. I'm not mad I read it, there are just a few things I would have changed.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC of this novel.

Wow, what can I say!!!! This story is absolutely brilliant. I was on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. Huge 5 stars.

Thank you Bookouture for a copy on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
The Therapist is the newest from home grown psychological thriller author Nicole Trope.
I’ve been a dedicated fan of Nicole’s for quite a while now and the skilled writer continues with a great book.
Divorced Lana is a successful therapist with a young son, Iggy.
After her colleague asks her to take on one of his clients, Lana is hesitant.
A scene at the office changes her mind.
New patient Sandy is in an uncomfortable marriage and she needs to expose her husband.
Then someone goes missing, someone’s lying and someone is ultimately in jeopardy……
I really enjoyed this book, it has all the essence for a successful read.
There’s the clever plot, the suspicious characters and the thrilling atmosphere.
I did work it out very early on and I stuck to my gut feeling and I was right.
I was still very keen to see it all come together or should I say fall apart.
Another satisfying novel from a talented storyteller.

What a gripping book. Clever and complex with just the right amount of twists and turns. Will look out for this author in the future.

Lana is a therapist. She is a successful therapist. When one of her co-workers, a therapist named Ben asks her if she can take in a patient, Lana reluctantly agrees. The patient is Sandy who doesn't seem to be happy with her marriage. Sandy tells her therapist that she is abused by her husband Mike and that she was scared of him. Lana offers to help her but Sandy agrees to meet her. But the next day, Sandy fails to show up in her appointment and Lana knew that something terrible happened to Sandy.
The story is told in the POVs of Lana, Mike and Sandy. I liked reading Nicole Trope's stories but this book in my opinion wasn't really her best. Though the pacing was great and there are some twists and turns, I feel I am not really into the whole story line. It was very predictable in my opinion and even the ending was kind of predictable as well. Trope's novels usually gives WTH moments in most of her thriller books but here I feel like it was all predictable and sightly boring in my opinion. This book could have been better in my opinion. However, the writing was great and intriguing.
Overall, I give this book 3.5 stars.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only.

Nicole has done it again, an outstanding story which had me captivated from page one right through to the end. What a corker of a story and so very well written.
The story was very cleverly done, plenty of grasping, shocking moments and nail biting moments wondering what is going to happen next. You literally did not know who to trust, who really was the victim in this story. I tell you it was just brilliant, plus a few twists and turns along the way, although I did guess one of those twists come the end but it didn’t spoil my enjoyment at all.
I’m already looking forward to seeing what this authors wrote next, her stories really are just outstanding.

"The Therapist" written by Nicole Trope is the unputdownable psychological thriller. It will keep you on the edge of your seat, look no further than from the very first page, I was gripped and couldn't put it down! The suspense was absolutely killing me, with emotional twists that felt like a roller-coaster ride. Every chapter left me flipping pages faster, eager to uncover what would happen next. Trope masterfully weaves an intricate web of tension and surprise that keeps you guessing until the very end. It’s truly unputdownable! I highly recommend diving into this thriller.

Another great read from Nicole Trope!
In this slow-burning psychological thriller we meet Lana, a therapist dedicated to helping others, and her beautiful client, Sandy, a complicated enigma.
As Lana delves into Sandy's life, she's confronted with unsettling questions: Is Sandy a victim of physical abuse, or is she a master manipulator? The tension steadily mounts, resulting in an explosive ending and a shocking twist that left me reeling.
My thanks to the author and Netgalley for the opportunity to read the ARC. This is my honest review.

The book starts out a bit slow but picks up its pace midway. I was so confused; I didn’t know what or who to trust. The suspense had my head spinning. I couldn’t even predict anything, was confused as to who to believe, and that’s a good thing for me because I like to finish reading a book shocked and possibly gobsmacked🤣
We have an unreliable and annoying main character, which brings a lot of tension and blurred lines. I enjoyed this, 3.5 stars!

The therapist: I love my job. People tell me their worries, their fears. Then Sandy becomes my patient. Something about her tears as she cries about her husband doesn't feel right. But I tell her she can trust me.
The patient: I never should have married Mike. My head is in a mess. All I want is for someone to listen. At least I can trust my therapist - she believes everything I say. Ans i'm going to show the world exactly what my dear husband is like.
The husband: We used to be so happy. I just want my smiling, beautiful wife back. I was glad when Sandy signed up for therapy. But one day Sandy didn't come home. I'm frantic. Then her therapist knocks on the door and says we need to talk.... what has Sandy told her about our marriage?
Lana is a therapist who still carries scars from her past. Sandy is her new client who claims she is in a controlling and abusive relationship with her husband Mike. But as Sandy's story gets more worrying, she suddenly disappears.
Filled with unreliable characters, suspense and twists, I had to keep reading this book to find out what was really going on. I was beginning to doubt everything I was being told. This is a multilayered psychological thriller.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #Bookouture and the author #NicoleTrope for my ARC of #TheTherapist in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for an early copy of The Therapist. OHMYGOSH!!!!! What did I just read? This was a sick book. I NEVER knew who was lying or telling the truth. I did know Ben was NOT to be trusted. This had soooooo many twists, my neck is aching. I always felt bad for Mike even with his different emotions and not knowing what he might have done. I LOVE Nicole Trope books, they keep you on your toes. Thanks again.

An emotional and suspenseful story that peels back the layers of trauma, trust, and healing. Nicole Trope weaves a gripping narrative where nothing is quite as it seems. Heart-wrenching and fast-paced, it keeps you hooked from start to finish.

Lana is a therapist who is helping Sandy, a new client get over the trauma of her hideous and abusivehusband, Mike.
When Sandy disappears Lana is under suspicion and what happens is just WOW.
In fact this is a book of WOWs.. The plot is brilliant and the twists and turns just keep coming. It is a punchy story that left me amazed and quite honestly I was not left wanting. It fulfils everything you need in book and it does not stop coming for you.
WOW WOW WOW A must read..

This thriller was a rollercoaster of suspense and unexpected turns. The plot was tightly woven, with every chapter ending in a way that demanded I keep reading. The twist was chillingly believable, and the stakes kept rising until the explosive finale. The writing was crisp and cinematic, making the scenes play out vividly in my mind. It's a gripping read that thriller fans shouldn’t miss.

Ben, Lana’s colleague and practice mate.

Mike, Sandy’s husband who is the source of all her problems.
A complicated cast of characters that will keep you on your toes!
💕What I Loved:
As a therapist who has been practicing for over 15 years and now teaches and trains therapists, I am always interested in thrillers with the therapist and therapy interwoven. Of course, I was yelling at all the ethical violations, but this is fiction! And some of this stuff be happening IRL. There was an appropriate level of tension, twists, and turns. I did have an inkling of how the story would end.
💭Final Thoughts:
This was my first read of Nicole Trope. I recommend this book if you liked Frieda McFadden’s Never Lie!
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this advanced reader’s copy.

Such a good psychological thriller! A story from a therapist pov trying to find out who is telling the truth was insane! My head was turning!

Thank you so much for this ARC! Another fast paced and deeply twisty thriller from Nicole Trope! I will always request her books, they never disappoint.
Main characters as therapists and psychologists are so fascinating to me, add on an unreliable and very questionable patient and it becomes explosive. I had no idea who to trust here until the very end.
The ending wrapped up nicely, and honestly, could have went without one connection at the end and would have been better in my opinion. Still 5 stars from me. Quick read, fast paced and very entertaining.

From the very first page, the narrative compels the reader to interrogate every detail: someone is clearly concealing the truth, yet the central question persists—who is the deceiver?
From the outset, there was one character whose reliability I questioned, and I suspect that many perceptive readers will arrive at a similar suspicion. The author employs a deft interplay of subtle clues and shifting narrative perspectives, which effectively sustain a pervasive sense of ambiguity and tension. By structuring the novel through multiple points of view, each chapter invites the reader to re-examine previous assumptions and consider new facets of the unfolding mystery.
Although I entertained several hypotheses as the plot progressed, I was ultimately unprepared for the extent of the revelations. I ought to have anticipated that the author’s characteristic mastery of psychological misdirection would thwart any attempt at prediction. The narrative’s commitment to psychological manipulation and narrative subterfuge ensures that the reader remains in a state of uncertainty until the final, explosive denouement.
I extend my sincere appreciation to Bookouture and NetGalley for the privilege of reviewing this eARC.

The questions start piling up immediately. Someone is lying. The only question is who?
There was one character I did not trust from the beginning chapters. Once you read it, you will agree. The little clues and characters' point of views left me reeling most of the time. Each chapter belongs to a character so you are seeing the story through their eyes.
I had my suspicions, but I was shocked as well. I should have known better than to think I could figure it out. Mind games and trickiness are the name of the game if this author's name is on the cover. Most of the time I was left scratching my head wondering if I had it all wrong. I can say for a fact that I never saw that explosive ending coming.
Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
