I loved this paranormal romance. A lawyer who thinks he’s untouchable and a ghost haunting the house he’s escaped his troubles to. As long as you don’t think too hard about paranormal aspects then it’s just a really cute romcom. They help each other to work through the emotions they’ve been avoiding while trying to find a way for her to “move on” to the after life. The side characters are hilarious, I almost wish there was more time with them. I listened to the audio book and thought the narrating was wonderful.
Thank you, #netgalley for an advanced copy of this book for an honest review.

I liked this book. It was a cute romance between a ghost and a human that contains a good amount of comedy and character development. It was also very cozy as it was set in a small town.
Thank you NetGalley for this AudioArc

2.5/5 rounded up to 3-
I really loved the idea of Ghostly, Ida a fun chipper ghost and Gabriel the cocky lawyer that is trying to ride out a scandal in the house she haunts? Sounded great! Unfortunately this one fell flat for me. I couldn’t stand the MMC, and the last 20 percent of the books with him moping was pretty boring. The romance just didn’t seem believable and not because one of them was a ghost. I did like Ida and thought some of the side characters were fun but not enough to make up for my dislike of Gabriel and the lack of chemistry.
The audiobook is dual narrated which I like. Chris Chambers and Stephanie Kay had good pacing, inflection, and I thought the voices they did for other characters were distinctive. I felt that Stephanie Kay’s performance really captured the upbeat and the anxious moments of Ida. There were a few times where there was a change in POV that was a little hard to follow though.
Thank you to NetGalley and RBMedia for the advance listener copy.

This was my first paranormal romance and MAN, it hit every single box.
💗Humour

💗Amazing story telling by the narrators
💗Great writing
I gasped, I was sad, I laughed A LOT, I was angry and then I was so happy! I don't normally gel with cozy fantasy but I cannot recommend this enough! I cannot wait to read book 2!

Super cute! Heartwarming story.
I got the opportunity to listen to the audio. This was a easy listen something I could of finished in one day if I wasn't a busy mom lol. The narrators did a great job making the book more enjoyable and very entertaining.
This book gave me some Casper the Ghost vibes, if he was a woman and older... when Gabriel a successful lawyer gets involved with a client and causes problems he disappears to a small town and Moves into an old Victorian-style house. He wasn't expecting to come face-to-face with a very sassy ghost, haunting the house and wanting to talk his ear off.
Overall I loved the small-town feel and the connection the Ghost Ida and Gabriel had.
**Thank you to NetGalley and RBmedia for this ALC**

This was such a unique and enjoyable read! I really liked the dual narrative — getting both Ida and Gabriel’s perspectives added a lot of depth to the story, and it was especially well done in the audiobook version with the dual narration. It made the characters feel more alive and gave the story a nice rhythm.
The banter between Ida and Gabriel was a definite highlight for me. Their chemistry had just the right mix of tension and charm, and their conversations kept things engaging even during the slower moments.
Without giving anything away, the ending was super satisfying. It wrapped things up in a way that felt earned and emotionally rewarding.
Definitely worth checking out if you like ghost stories with heart, smart dialogue, and a dual POV that actually adds to the experience!

This was a cute one. It requires quite a bit of suspension of belief, obviously, but overall it flowed well and had an interesting twist on the standard star-crossed-lovers genre. I was surprised at the little pop of spice in there as well.
I’m interested to see how this series plays out long term.

Production was excellent. Both narrators were easy to understand and brought the characters to "life" - pardon the pun. :) No background noise, smooth editing, no issues at all with the audiobook.
The story was SO MUCH FUN! I really enjoyed a fresh take on a ghost story. I loved the elements of the contracts and the secondary familial elements. The banter between the characters was TOP NOTCH! Really great story for SummerWeen!

I loved this story! Gabriel and Ida are an unlikely pair but they work so well together. I enjoyed the banter between them and the work to get Ida to move on. Ghost stories usually hit a point where the relationship between the two, one earthly and one spirit, gets a little confusing and you don’t know how it will go. I loved the way it was all resolved in the end and look forward to the next in the series, though I will miss these characters.
Narration was excellent, no issues.

The female narrator was fabulous. The male narrator took some getting used to kind of like the main male character. I enjoyed the cozy little story.

This book was unexpectedly sweet and the romance was on point. I loved most of it, but do wish the last 15% or so could have been resolved some other way. It just felt like Gabriel was cheating on Ida and so soon after.
Ida was just the most wonderful person. Yes she was OCD and had rage issues, but her forgiveness is hard won.
The narration was excellent, seamless transitions, great expression of emotions and j7st the right level of light heartedness.

Cute closed door paranormal romance between a lawyer and a Victorian ghost. This was adorable and the narrators were excellent.
I received an arc from netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I received an ALC of this book and the audio version is available from 24/06. I had a lovely time listening to this book, the narrators did a really great job - Stefanie especially. Her narration was so peppy and bubbly it captured Ida perfectly. I enjoyed the story and it was a really fun read, but felt like it was very surface level. Great for a listen while doing household chores or a crafty hobby.
I rate this 3.5⭐️ but have rounded up.

Absolutely adorable and delightfully lighthearted paranormal romance!
Gabriel, a recently suspended attorney, is sent to lay low in a small town and unknowingly rents a haunted house. That’s where he meets Ida, a clever and spirited ghost who’s been trapped in the home for years. Gabriel and Ida team up to find a way to release her.
The audiobook was fantastic, thanks to the dual narration. Both narrators brought the characters to life with expressive performances that captured the humor, warmth, and emotional tension of the story. It’s a perfect pick for a fun, feel-good day of listening.
Highly recommended for readers who enjoy:
-Contemporary romance with a touch of fantasy
-Romantic tension and heartwarming moments
-A quick, engaging listen
-OCD awareness representation
-Small-town romance
-Light, sassy banter
Thank you to NetGalley and Tantor Audio for providing this advanced audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

The narrators did a really wonderful job giving this book life.
Unfortunately, the book itself was a let down. I was hoping for something cute and cozy, but it was very corny and lacked any depth.

This was charming all the way through.
The writing was funny enough to get a few laughs while still not crossing the line to silly (which you'd be surprised to know happens a lot more than you might expect)
The highlight of the story was 100% Ida, she's lovely. I liked how despite being from the 1800s, she had so much inner development during all her time as a ghost, instead of having us believe that the man she just met was the one to help her understand herself after decades of being around (and around others).
It got a bit drawn out between the 50% & 75% mark, but it was overall a pretty fast read; you couldn't really notice time going by as this audiobook played.
Both narrators were great.

Cute paranormal rom-com.
Lawyer Gabriel has to flee the big city because of a scandal of his own making. His rented home has a resident ghost and he's the only person able to see Ida. The two work together to allow Ida to cross over, which understandably brings them closer.
What I didn't like:
the predictable third act break-up.
Things I liked about this story:
the narration was good. I enjoyed listening to Stephanie Kay as Ida and Chris Chambers as Gabriel.
that both MCs have neurodivergent aspects, Ida more than Gabriel though.
the small town and the secondary characters.
the paranormal/magic part of Ida's life.

Just finished listening to the book, Ghostly. This book was released in 2024 but the audio is being released today. I absolutely adored this story!! This is about a lawyer named Gabriel, he gets suspended from his job for 6 months because of a scandal and is told to hide out until things cool down. He rents a house a couple hours away in a new town where no one knows him, and does everything he can to keep to himself. Except he's never alone, because his rental house has a ghost. Ida died over 130 years ago, and has been stuck in this house ever since. Most of the occupants of the house have been rather boring through the years, but Gabriel, he's different. He can see her! She finally has someone who can see her and she can talk to! She's so excited about this, but he is not excited in the slightest. They get off to a rocky start, but end up forming quite the bond. And when they find out about a contract where if fulfilled Ida can either peacefully pass on to the other side or can become human again, they both know what they gotta do. The quick wit and banter between these characters was so much fun. The storyline was very well done and flowed really well. This was such an enjoyable audiobook to listen to! I loved that there were 2 narrators, and they both were fantastic! They really brought the story to life. I loved every minute of this book! And I will definitely be looking for more by this author! 💜📚
Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for this audio ARC of Ghostly, in exchange for an honest review.

I listened to the Audiobook. Chris Chambers and Stefanie Kay brought Gabriel and Ida to life! This paranormal ghost romantic comedy finds an OCD ghost and a slimy lawyer coming together to achieve one goal! Well worth the listen! 🎧 Thanks to NetGalley and Tantor Audio for allowing me to listen to this book for an honest review.

1.5🌶️ (not super spicy), Plot 5/5📖. Like paranormal romances?! I know I do!!🙋♀️
Is it the thought of people who’ve passed still finding love? Idk!! What I do know is this book was a fantastic audio adventure! Kate really nailed subjects of the after life I wouldn’t have imagined and built our sweet ghost, Ida, up. She gave our main characters a depth of personalities and the best voice actors for the narration. I really felt like I was falling in love too! I really procrastinated listening to the last 30 minutes because it was one of those light hearted romance stories you never want to end! It gave feelings like when you grab a blanket fresh out of the dryer, just so warming!!#paranormalromance #smut #romance #kateserzenta #ghostly
