A good collection of stories written with an unmistakably Irish tone. The writing was great and I look forward to reading more from this author.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the chance to read this ARC.

Dublin written in a very Irish way...The dark side of the city, interesting narrative but ultimately not for me.

this was a darker shade of short story for me. they were sometimes harsh and punching and often close to the realities of society that does seem to be slipping at the moment. so in that way it was both a good story but also a quiet then loud reflection on so much of reality. it would a good read that kept me wanting to read more. im never quite sure how to describe my reviews on short stories because i like them simply for succeeding in being what they are and that is what this book once again does for me.
i will say its on the dark side, not in horror but more in darker shades of life. that no bad thing though.
i liked it and would like to read more by this author.

These stories are dark and edgy, as advertised. I found the writing style, although obviously literary, to be too dense, and I failed to follow the story thread in each one. Too Irish and too intellectual for me, probably.
