I really struggled to rate this one. Tbh, I nearly dnfed this one a few times.
Overall, I'm not sure this one was for me.
Thank you to NetGalley, Hodder & Stoughton, and Yoshiharu Doi for providing this book for review. All opinions are my own.

The book sends a good message about food; a soup and one dish, and the richness of healthy dishes, balance, traditions, healthy habits, however, I could not wrap my head around the rest, and found it confusing. This could have been much shorter and still offer the same in my opinion.
I will not be reviewing it publicly.
I loved the insights on miso.

I was so looking forward to this, and the core message of simplicity and freshness in your food is great...
but I found the cultural gendered patriarchal sex roles really hard to swallow, so jarring all the way through, just kept taking me out of the flow of the book
I still finished it but have to admit it took a lot
