I absolutely flew through this book! I have fond memories of grabbing my favourite bench under the shade in the churchyard, coffee in hand and a solid hour with this book! I quickly got absorbed and was whisked away to the wartime East End.

This plucky group of London women have a lot to go through but they always make do and make it through. It’s both so touching and uplifting and I finished the book in a blink.

It’s been such an enjoyable and entertaining series so far. I loved the elements in this book and can’t wait for more from this author!

WW2 is nearing its end and the lives of the three friends are about to change.
Mavis and Joe finally marry, but their happy day is marred by a secret.
Jane is determined to find confidence in her remarkable singing voice.
Cordelia eagerly awaits news about her boyfriend Robert who is serving as a doctor in Africa.
Another brilliant book in this wonderful series.

A nostalgic read set towards the end of WW2, where life continues to be a struggle and fear of what's next is very prevlant, what always surprises me is despite the worry and grief that everyone is experiencing that there is still a sense of kindness and I guess unity among those at home.

A story of endings & beginnings. Will the library girls each find what they are hoping for, well maybe with a little assistance from friends. Cordelia is longing for her sweetheart Robert to come home safely from the war. Mavis is kept busy with her wedding to Joe, while harbouring a secret. Jane who lacks belief in her capabilities is finding that there is something she can do and actually enjoy it, that is with help from friends.

I have really enjoyed this series, the characters grow on you more with each book.
My favourite character was Cordelia, keen to shake off her beginnings.

I loved this. I fear it may be the last in the series, and I'm gutted if it is, but it was very enjoyable and well written. I really want to know what happens next for the East End Library Girls!

Wedding Bells for the East End Library Girls by Patricia McBride

With their beloved library damaged by bombing, they’ve found a temporary home in the local school, but they long to return to the place they love.

Mavis’s wedding should be a time of joy, but beneath the celebrations, she carries a secret. Determined to stay strong, she refuses to dampen the happiness of those around her.

Jane is finally stepping into the life she deserves. After years of self-doubt, she is beginning to find her confidence and – with the support of her two best friends – perhaps even an opportunity she never thought possible.

And for Cordelia, hope is also on the horizon. As the war winds down, her partner Robert may finally return from Africa. For the first time in a long time she is looking forward to a future filled with love and joy. But dare she dream of more wedding bells?

We catch up with Mavis Jane , and Cordelia with the emphasis mainly on Jane in this book.
I've enjoyed all the previous books which as a great book reader is even more interesting being set around a library and,the workers lives during the war .
Love the characters and their friendship and finding out all about them at that dangerous time.

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from Netgalley. Having enjoyed the previous books in the series, I was pleased to be offered an ARC of the final book. It was an enjoyable read, but unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it as much as the previous ones. Although it was nice to see more of a focus on Jane, her story didn't seem particularly believable, and I would have liked to see more of Mavis. However, the setting was engaging, and I was happy with the resolution.

I loved this story about three librarian friends during WW2. It was a real cozy feel good book, there’s nothing much in the way of war news but more their lives, loves and friendships and how they support each other through the hard times of war. It was such a good read, I can’t wait for either the next book in this series if there is going to be one or a new series which is exciting! Highly recommend this author she is a lovely sensitive writer, you won’t be disappointed. Highly deserving of 5 stars.

Another brilliant book in the series with so many twists and turns that I didn't see coming (the end is a big one!) I have thoroughly enjoyed all the books in this series. They are well written with likeable characters and easy to imagine and picture the scenes described. I was worried when I started reading the last chapter that this would be the last in the series but I don't think it is as there are so many doors unopened and questions unanswered.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers and of course the author for allowing me to read and review an Arc copy and for such a brilliant book!

When you love a series, there is always the fear that the newest book might not live up to your expectations. No worries...Wedding Bells for the East End Library Girls is spectacular and full of surprises. It begins with Mavis finally marrying her Joe, only to have him shipped overseas 2 days later. Remember Ben, a young man who fixed the library van for the girls? He's back, searching for answers about his parentage, with connections to Cordelia. Remember Robert, Cordelia's beau? The North African campaign has ended, but will he come back changed? And shy, timid Jane can sing...who knew? There is even a mysterious, old, wooden chest that was found after the library was bombed, just waiting to be opened. This book took the girls in unexpected new directions that I hadn't anticipated, but I loved it. I'll miss these East End Library Girls.

Lovely addition to the series. It was an enjoyably light read that deftly addressed real issues without being heavy or depressing in the process. It was nice to see one couple officially "coupled up" while leaving the door open for future instalments in the series.
