Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for approving me to read this, I’m rating it 4.0 stars.

What an absolutely good time! This is a spicy romance story that doesn’t hold back from beginning to end. The characters are funny, the dialogue had me cackling and saying omg through the plot.

Highly recommend this for hot as hell romance with some wild kinks. I recommend checking the trigger warnings just to make sure this is for you!

aaaah, I was so excited for this and in all honesty, it just didn't hit the mark for me. There were elements I loved - the general plot of him chasing her, and the story with the ex. But this book was A LOT of smut. I'm not against smut, but for me, there is a line. In all honesty, I was skimming the end. I didn't really care about the story about the ex by the end and I think the book could have ended maybe 50 pages earlier.

That being said, I loved the characters - Shane and Claire were entertaining, had enough depth to them and the chemistry between them was there!!

I'm glad I read it but I'm just sad it wasn't for me.

Allie Oleander has officially ruined me—in the best way possible. Willing Prey sinks its claws into you from the very first chapter and doesn’t let go. Dark, intoxicating, and deliciously twisted, this story is everything I crave in dark romance.

Addictive and sharp, with a flow that makes you forget the world around you. The characters? Oh, they’re the kind you simultaneously want to protect and destroy.

This isn’t a romance that holds your hand it drags you willingly into the shadows and makes you love every second of it. Spice level? 🔥🔥🔥 Absolutely scorching, but balanced so well with character depth and a gripping plot.

If you’re a fan of morally gray heroes, obsessive devotion, and stories that toe the line between pleasure and peril, you need to add willing prey to your TBR. Allie Oleander has delivered a dark gem that I’ll be thinking about for a long time.

This story was a highly anticipated release for me and it is exactly what I'd hoped it would be! It's a fast- paced, deliciously spicy and addictive page turning read. I was hooked from the very beginning and did not put it down until I'd finished.. because what do you mean the FMC signs a spicy contract to be hunted through the woods by her ex husbands HOT boss 🔥

The chemistry between these characters is palpable from the very start, you just feel the spark and emotion between them even though it all begins as a 30 day contract with no feelings or strings attached (famous last words). This plot has enough tension and intrigue to keep you flipping pages into the night. It's bold, unapologetic and an overall fun escape read full of steam.

If you're looking for a darkly seductive, spicy adventure with bite (quite literally 👀), then this belongs on your TBR!

Thank you to Netgalley and Evermore for the eARC!

Feral. Addictive. 🔥 I couldn’t put this down!!

If you love your romance dark, primal, and utterly unputdownable, this book will ruin you (in the best way). 💀💋🔥

Primal play is one of my favourite kinks to read, so the moment I saw the setup—Claire entering a 30-day contract to be Shane’s prey—I knew I had to get my hands on this ARC. And it delivered everything I hoped for.

The tension is wild, the heat is off the charts, and the softer moments completely melted me. Claire’s wit make her the perfect match in their hunts, and Shane strikes that irresistible balance of sexy, thoughtful, and utterly obsessed with his girl. Their chemistry kept me glued to the page.

And the spice… 🔥🔥🔥 Every scene felt fresh, intense, and unbelievably hot. Nothing repetitive, just pure, pulse-pounding tension that had me grinning, squirming, and already wishing I had a Shane of my own.

This book isn’t just about the kink (though it nails it); it’s about two characters finding something deeper in the most unexpected of arrangements. I adored it from start to finish, and I’m hoping this isn’t the last time we see these characters—or this world.

If you’re craving a dark, taboo romance that blends spice, danger, and surprising sweetness, Willing Prey belongs at the TOP of your TBR. This is an author I’ll be following closely—because if this is her debut, I can’t wait to see what she does next!!

I loved this book.
A quick, fast paced book based on a primal play aspect of BDSM/Kink lifestyle. I really enjoyed this book and am so grateful to of been given the opportunity of an ARC. There was also characters introduced that I’m hoping are going to get their own book (looking at you Caine and Margot!). The yearning, the banter, everything was amazing. Oh and the spice? Top tier.

Main Tropes include
•Forced Proximity
•Ex Husbands Boss
•Primal Play
•He falls first (& hard)

I think I’ve found a new favourite author 🙏

Ohmagosh this book was scrum dilly yum in every sense you can think of. No notes. Everything and I mean everything was perfectly proportionate. The romance the smut the sweetness the plot the relationship the chemistry the tension the softness the pacing the characters the emotion the story EVERYTHING.

I went in thinking it was going to be smut central and everything lusty but that didn't happen! Yk how when an overly smutty book comes at the cost of a well developed romance and always feels rushed? Yeah this book was NOT that. The spicy scenes enriched their dynamic and paved the way for those soft moments so they could shine when they happened.

Seeing characters in their 30+’s was so refreshing actually. I loveeed this aspect of the book.

The relationship was so perfectly done I wanna cry. Everything was given its space in the book. There wasn’t anything I felt missing when it came to their romance or them as individuals.

Shane is my babyyyyy. I’m actually totally obsessed with him. He’s the perfect mix of obsessed and awkward and hot. Like the man has it all. And when he gets sweet 😭🤚 I melt all over the floor. He’s such a softy in the most feral way. Ugh. I want himmmmmm.

Claire my other babyyyyy. I love her. I love her. I love herrrr. Seeing her grow thru the book was healing. And knowing she gave back as good as she got 🫦🫦🫦 she’s so mother.

It’s such a beautifully developed book I’m literally in awe because this is her debut too! Not to mention I actually adored the writing. It had the perfect blend of humour and emotion. So basically I loved everythingggggg about this book.

I think this has just become one of my all-time favourite reads and the book that finally pulled me out of my slump (something I never thought would happen).

When a book starts with more than a page of trigger warnings, I know I’m in for something I’ll probably enjoy… and wow, this didn’t disappoint. I was hooked from the very first page. The pacing is quick and addictive, and the dual POV flows seamlessly.

Claire, the FMC, is a breath of fresh air. She isn’t the typical whiny character you sometimes find yourself tolerating for the sake of the story. She’s fun, strong-willed, relatable, she proves life doesn’t stop once you are divorced. A lot more relatable than these barely 20 FMCs we normally see. Then there’s the MMC: dark, brooding, and dangerous in the best possible way. The kind of man who would happily smash your ex’s head against the kitchen island for speaking badly about you, protective and terrifying all at once.

This book had me fully invested, and I already know I’ll be adding a physical copy to my favourites shelf. If I could include my favourite quote, I would, but let’s just say it might be a little too much for NetGalley!

Fast-paced, deliciously dark, and perfectly executed — Willing Prey is a must-read for dark romance fans.

One of my absolute favorite kinks to read about is primal play, so when I saw that the main setup of this book was a 30-day contract between Claire and Shane to explore it, I knew I had to grab the ARC—and it did not disappoint!

The premise: divorced teacher Claire agrees to Shane’s contract to be his prey while he explores his primal side. Their dynamic as they grow closer is such a treat to read. Claire is witty, clever, and her competitive streak makes her the perfect match for Shane during the hunts. And Shane? He’s the perfect mix of sexy and thoughtful, with endearing awkward moments that make him feel so well-rounded and real.

And the spice… wow!!! It was incredible 🔥 I was honestly worried that with primal play being the focus, the scenes might feel repetitive, but they never did. Each encounter was fresh, intense, and unbelievably hot!! Honestly, it had me wishing I could find my own Shane to hunt me through the woods.

I adored the story, the characters, and especially the heat. This has easily become one of my favorite spicy romance reads ❤️ I’m crossing my fingers that more books will follow featuring some of the side characters introduced here. And truly—ARC or not—I would’ve picked this up based on the premise alone.

Very spicy with low stakes and some chasing! Great if you’re after a palette cleanser. A lot of my friends were really excited about this one!

If you love hot, funny and emotional primal romance, then Willing Prey has been written for you! I cannot express how much I loved this book.

I loved Claire's arc, of finding and believing in herself again. Using primal kink as a way to boost her confidence was genius and I loved the implications that you can be the huntee and still powerful. After her ex-husband left broke and heartbroken, we meet her when she is at her lowest. And witnessing her rise with the help of Shane and her friends was beautiful.

Shane was absolutely adorable. A huge grizzly on the outside, with a teddy bear heart. His falling in love with Claire was so sweet. The way he cared for her and only thought of lifting her up was heartwarming, especially compared to her ex-husband. He was not perfect and made mistakes but he acknowledged and corrected them. And we love a man that can admit he is wrong 😌

I loved how Allie Oleander managed to convey each emotion with precision. I found myself holding my breath more than once during hunting scenes and crying with the characters' angst.

The spice was delicious, perfectly balanced with the rest of the book and always moving the characters' arc forward.

Both MCs' inner monologues were also hilarious. I found myself laughing more than once at times I wouldn't have suspected, in the middle of a spicy scene or an emotional one.

I also the side characters and I hope they get their own book 👀
It was truly an amazing book and I cannot recommend it enough.

This book was a little outside of my usual reads, but I’m so glad I picked it up!

It follows Claire and Shane, who enter into a very beneficial arrangement involving primal play. Claire is freshly divorced, while Shane just needs to get her “out of his system”… or so he thinks.

I really enjoyed the dual POV - it gave such a great balance between their perspectives. The story was exciting, dark, surprisingly sweet in places, and just plain fun.

The side characters were a standout too—I’m definitely hoping we get more of them in future books!💕

This was such a fun and quick paced read. It was literally what I needed. This was a book I was invited to read and review and to be honest, I don’t think it would have been a book I would have chosen to read if not.

Honestly, I’m a little bit in love with Shane. Whilst I don’t think I’d like to be ‘hunted (I’m not running for anything), I’d definitely let him take me on a date or two. Also, Claire was a great FMC. She knows what she loves and isn’t afraid to ask for it.

I’ll definitely be keeping my eye out for other books I this author. I am desperate for a Caine and Margot book like you would believe.

4.5 ⭐

This was such a fun, filthy, fantastic time.

It wasn't just pure smut, I liked the way the characters were introduced and how their relationship developed outside sex too.

The writing style was also great, simple but not bland or boring, a perfect match for this type of story.

I could have kept reading on and on, I just didn't want this to end and wanted more. I hope this is a start of a series!

First off I want to say that I am so grateful that I was able to read this as an ARC.

This book was a fun time and not at all what I was expecting. Going in I knew the basic premise of the book, however I wasn’t expecting the story to be what it was.

I really appreciated how the story started straight to the point and no chapter was unnecessary. Every word that was written felt purposeful, and both of the main characters felt like they belonged together.

I liked how different the story was and how the MMC, just because he was into primal play, wasn’t your stereotypical growly, dominant man and was actually quite shy and awkward. I also liked how he wasn’t afraid to have the roles reversed in certain situations, which was something I had never seen before.

My only criticism was that I felt like we didn’t get much, if any, of the MMC’s background and childhood, as well as the FMC’s. After finishing the book, I found out that this was previously a novella that has been expanded into a full novel, so I can understand why, however it would’ve been a nice thing to include.

Overall, I had a fun time reading!!

Ok I had heard about this book and needed to get my hands on it thanks to Netgalley and Evermore for the arc, this did not disappoint at all.
We meet the FMC Claire who is buried in debt, she is offered 30k to spend 30days with the MMC Shane so that he can fulfil his desires. Claire agrees to be his “willing prey” but will Claire be able to walk away after 30 days. This is a steamy dual POV, quite fast paced read but well worth the read..

As you may notice Shane is hot as sin with also endearing qualities, which Claire needs after her husband cheated on her. The banter in this book was so well written and great to see a man fall first.

Thank you so much to Evermore & Netgalley for allowing me to read an eARC of Willing Prey by Allie Oleander in exchange for an honest review.

To say I was blushing when I was reading this is an understatement 😳 (I haven't read much dark romance at all!), but I loved it 🤭

Honestly, it totally wasn't what I expected - I thought it was just going to be dark romance with LOTS of trigger warnings, but the humour was fab & it had me chuckling! It was such an easy read & I loved the dual POV.

It's very spicy, so if you're not a fan of spice, you may want to avoid Willing Prey...🌶 but if you like spice, get stuck in 🤭

If you love dark romance, banter a, you're gonna want to check this out, little deer 🦌

Not my normal read (did I not check the blurb when I requested?), and so for the first 50% of the book I found all the hunting, chasing and sex scenes a little tedious. However, things changed for a while and we were able to get a sense of the main characters, Claire and Shane, whose relationship begins to evolve beyond the smut. Predictable but satisfying end.
An easy read, ideal for lovers of spicy books with an interesting premise and nothing too bizarre.

Thanks to NetGalley for a free e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

3 ⭐️ - Thank you to Net Galley for the ARC copy!

Well, the title of this book is like Ronseal - it does what it says on the tin. If you've somehow picked this book up and thought, oh this will be a sweet romance... a) Are you okay? and b) This isn't going to be for you. This book is VERY spicy from the offset, I'm talking like 7% in and you're hit with the spicy scenes. However, as the book goes on the plot does come through and there is a HEA ending which is very sweet considering the book is about a woman willingly choosing to be a mans prey!

I didn't really connect massively with Claire and Shane's characters which I think is down to the sheer amount of spice in the plot. I'd have quite liked a bit more build up before the hunter/prey plot kicked in, but I was surprisingly connected to the side characters in this book and I'd definitely read a sequel about Caine and Margot which I feel like the author has set up in this book.

If you're looking for a fun time with exciting sex scenes that build in intensity through the book, Willing Prey will be something you really enjoy. If you like your men soft on the inside and hard on the outside (pardon the pun ;D) I think you'll be a fan of Will. He's a golden retriever waiting to come out! All in all, a very fun time with bingeable writing and a unique plot I've never really read before - enjoyed this one!
