Someone Like Me collects a mix of writing about autistic experiences from gender-diverse and women writers, challenging stereotypes and delving into individual narratives. It offers commentary around a range of different topics, exploring how diverse neurodivergent experiences can be and emphasising the ways in which being autistic can be challenging because of unfair neurotypical expectations.
There’s no way my review can do this amazing book justice, but I loved reading such a wide array of inspiring, compelling and beautifully written chapters, from writers I already knew and loved, as well as new-to-me writers who I will definitely be looking up. I adored every single chapter and I’m sure this is one that will resonate with so many people.
Thank you so much to Verve Books for the chance to read this early!

I loved this book. I am lost for words. What a captivating, insightful and validating experience this book was! I have come away with so much warmth and lots to read up on and research. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the weird, wonderful, vulnerable and raw array of experiences and thought processes throughout the book.
I really really enjoyed this collection! This needs to be read by everyone. If you are diagnosed, self diagnosed, suspecting, questioning or just curious you might find a piece of yourself within one or more of these pages. It’s funny that even though you are reading someone else’s unique experiences you can feel understood. What a perfect title for this amazing book.
So grateful to Verve Books for giving me the chance to read this eARC.
I can’t wait for this one to get published so I can get a physical copy and I’m looking forward to the virtual launch on the 12th of September!
