Iam a fan of this authors work and have been looking forward to this book for quite a while. Well it certainly didn’t disappoint and was worth the wait. So happy to finally get to meet the characters again and see how their love story panned out. Definitely recommend.

Thank you NetGalley and Samantha Towle for this ARC!

Whilst the pregnancy trope isn't normally my thing, I actually read enjoyed this one. It pleasantly surprised me and kept me hooked. I really enjoyed the love story and their connection, with some raw and tender moments but also loveable souls.

I'll start off saying I'm so happy that Samantha Towle is writing again. We've had to wait a while, but Kaiden and Missy's story was worth it.

Missy has crushed on her brothers best friend Kaiden for years, but she never thought those feelings would be would be reciprocated until they spent the night together, but the next morning, she wakes up alone. A few weeks later and Missy has to see Kaiden and tell him her news. It will change both their lives but will it all ne for better.

I loved how feisty Missy was and the way that Kaiden was all in and how his protective side came out. I also loved catching up with characters from previous books. The story has a great family dynamic.

unfortunately this book isn't my cup of tea. there were parts i enjoyed, especially how the mmc stepped up with the pregnancy. but there were also parts that didn’t really hold my interest and i kinda skipped through them. i didn’t feel much connection with either of the main characters but to be fair their love story was pretty solid.

“Because it brought me here. To you. If I’d never stepped in that ring with Zeus, then I would never have met you, and you wouldn’t be carrying my babies right now, so, no, I wouldn’t change a single second of the past because it gave me this present.” *swoons*

I'm so happy that Samantha is back writing because I've missed her words so much. When she posted that she would be giving us all a new book soon, I was so excited because it's been ages since I've read one of her books. Then she told us it was going to be the 3rd book in the Gods series.. I was even more excited.

I loved Kaden and Missy's story. It's the whole the both actually like eachother but never would've done anything. They flirt with each other, and when they're alone in an elevator, she decides to throw caution to the wind and kiss him. After that, the rest is history. In they go to her hotel room and spend the night together.

I love the angst and love we got the pregnancy trope(that's my favourite).

This book was absolutely perfect. I laughed, swooned, and had tears that were sad and happy.

Kaden and Artemis “Missy” are all the things I love in a good romance book. Brother’s best friend, age gap, surprise baby….some of the best tropes ❤️

I loved that Kaden was also “found family” to the Kincaids and that Zeus and Ares (Missy’s brothers) handled the revelation of their relationship well. It was a refreshing change from when brothers lose their minds in books. Also, her twin brother Apollo was fun and he deserves a story of his own. It was an easy book to read and really the action started right at page one. I also LOVED how all the Kincaid kids were named after Greek gods 😉

It was my first book by Samantha Towle, but it won’t be my last.

This was a joy to read. Great lead characters with personality and a willingness to stand up for their beliefs. A good background story and more details on the fun siblings that was in the first book in the series - and they are remain as interesting. A good dose of sexy time as well which added spice to the book. This is a real hit with me, plot, antics and character and I can’t wait to read more in the series.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Risk. It’s been some time since I read the previous books in Samantha Towle’s Gods series and I’ll definitely be rereading to remind myself of Ares and Zeus’ stories. I absolutely loved spending time with the Kincaid family, so I really am keeping my fingers crossed for Lo’s story to be written too.

Risk is Missy’s story and it is told solely via her POV. I do love a brother’s best friend romance story and this one was no exception. Kaden is not only best friend to Zeus but is also considered as being part of the Kincaid family. I absolutely fell head over heels in love with the guy. Okay, so there are moments when I literally wanted to wring his neck, but he is only human and we all make mistakes or say the wrong thing at times. What I would have loved is to have had a few chapters placed during certain events in this storyline sharing Kaden’s thoughts and feelings. We do learn the reasons behind his actions, but I feel having his POV may have made a bigger impact.

I loved the suspense that was written into this story. I absolutely love how close the Kincaid family are and how much they support each other – including those marrying into the family. The times when they are together warmed my heart. I love that Ari and Cam are as close to Missy as her brothers are, and I especially enjoyed witnessing Missy's twin connection with Lo. I do wish that this narrative had been longer and with a little less repeated content. However, I must admit that I am delighted that Samantha Towle is writing and releasing books once again.

Ruin is one of my favourite books of all time so I was beyond thrilled to finally be back with the Kincaids! Finding out Missy’s book was going to be about her and Kaden only upped my excitement!

This was a short but incredible read. Missy & Kaden had both been harbouring crushes on each other for a long time and the night of her brother’s wedding was when they finally gave in to their insane chemistry. Kaden had some inner turmoil and self doubt to overcome but I adored the way Missy while supportive of him, also didn’t let him play with her emotions and stood her ground. Zeus & Ares finding out about them was a major fear that played on Kaden’s mind especially but I really loved the scene where it all played out. No matter what he is an honorary Kincaid. Getting to see Zeus & Cam again especially was such a highlight for me. And I’m really hoping we’re getting a story for Lo too, he was so sweet in this one!

There were a lot of sweet moments, some tension filled ones and the action really ramped up towards the end there. Overall this was such a fun read and I’m just so glad Samantha is back and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!

Thank you so much to Headline Eternal & Samantha Towle for the ARC 🤍

First and foremost, I'm happy to see Samantha Towle back! I always enjoy her books (loving Ruin and Rush from a few years back) and now with Risk I found myself smiling throughout at this adorable love story that turned both Missy and Kaden's world upside down. These two have been dancing around each other for years, always afraid to take that next step since Kaden was best friends with Missy's big brother and all the complications that might arise should they ever get together. Thankfully, though, a night of passion after brother Ares' wedding creates not only a bit of assumed awkwardness since Kaden leaves before morning, but a future neither ever imagined.

Risk was truly sweet and quite a simple read. And that's not throwing any shade at Towle but I enjoyed this easier read which brought me back to the simpler times of the early 2010's when I began reading again. There's plenty of angst. There's plenty of humor. And the biggest component overall was the incredible sense of family and the support all of the Kincaids had for Missy when she needed them most. I felt Kaden's worry about turning into his despicable father and for going behind Zeus' back but he's a really good guy and the ways he makes sure that Missy is comfortable, protected and cared for warmed my heart.

There's a bit of surprise drama towards the end which worried me a bit but thankfully all is well as Missy gives birth to two beautiful boys. She is definitely her brothers' sister as nothing is ever easy when it comes to love as both Zeus and Ares can attest to, but Towle does a great job in allowing Missy to find her forever with Kaden, clearly the man of her dreams.

4 big stars!

This book had me griped from the beginning, I couldn’t put it down. It’s a lovely follow on from the two previous books. I found it to have good humour running through it that had me grinning too my self, especially the “moo point”.

Missy has been thought about her brothers best friend for years, after a night together at her brothers wedding leads to an unexpected pregnancy, they have to work out their future together.
You really feel for Kaden as a character, he’s had a difficult life and you can see he wants missy safe and worries how he might hurt her but also loves her and can’t keep away, “We’re inevitable” had me smiling so much. You could tell he was happy to wait as long as it took for her to realise his feelings. He was such a sweet character, I wish it had been in dual pov so I could have seen more of Kaden’s thoughts. However the book is definitely something I would recommend to a friend and I can wait to read Lo’s story if he gets one.

Risk is book 3 in the Gods series by Samantha Towle. This book is Kaden and Missy’s story and it is sexy, sweet, suspenseful and who doesn’t love a surprise pregnancy. I was hooked from the first page. Needless to say, I really loved this book and highly recommend it!

Thank you to Headline and NetGalley for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I really liked the sound of this as I really do enjoy the pregnancy trope and by his best friend. This is my first book by Samantha and I haven’t read the previous books that are in the series, however, I had no issues as such with making sense as to what has happened so far. This was okay— it kept my attention enough, but I did find it felt a bit stilted at times. I’m not sure if it was the characters themselves or just the writing style that didn’t quite click for me. I think I would have enjoyed it more if there had been a bit more depth to both the characters and the plot, as it all felt a little surface-level. That said, there were still moments I liked, and I can see others enjoying this more than I did.

Missy + Kaden

Missy has been crushing on her oldest brother's best friend for years.
And today - at her other brother's wedding - she's finally brave enough to flirt a little. Maybe she could have a fling with him. He would never want to have a relationship with his buddie's little sister, right?

LET THE FUN TIMES BEGIN...

What will happen with Missy + Kaden?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!

══════════════════

Well... that was cute.
We all should remember everyone in this book - we've already read the two books for Missy's brothers. And as it was a few years ago, and I'm suffering from book alzheimers, I'm not remembering much - but pff - we don't have to remember. We can always go back and read them again.
Missy is going to be a psychologist and Kaden was a pro boxer who had to give up his passion due to a very serious injury.
After that one night at the wedding things are a bit cool between them.
If they'd just talk to each other - everything would be easier. But book people never do.
But the reader enjoys watching them organize their feelings and lives and futures together.
That was an adorable little story.
I liked reading it.
Didn't take me long - it was a little short for my tastes.
Many things are repeated a lot and not much is happening.
And I really missed hearing Kaden's thoughts here and there. We don't know much about him.
This book could've/should've been a bit longer with a bit more important stuff. I don't even know what I mean, but it wasn't enough for me.
But I loved that we finally got a new Sam Towle book! Yay!

► RISK was a cute and sexy little pregnancy romance with a bit of suspense toward the end.

Samantha Towle delivers a stellar addition to her gods series with this emotionally charged romance that encapsulates the essence of contemporary love stories.

The narrative is rich with angst, passion, personal growth, and the allure of second chances, all set against a backdrop of forbidden love.

After a traumatic brain injury derails boxer Kaden Scott's career, he grapples with the loss of his identity and future, finding solace in his best friend's strong-willed sister, Missy Kincaid. A stolen kiss and a night of vulnerability change everything, leading to unexpected revelations that challenge their understanding of love amidst uncertainty.

The chemistry between Kaden and Missy is both tender and explosive, driven by years of unspoken desire. Kaden emerges as a complex hero, revealing a softer side beneath his tough exterior, while Missy, a determined PhD candidate, defies typical tropes associated with surprise pregnancies.

The story's tension is heightened by Kaden's troubled past, adding suspense and emotional stakes as he fights for a family he never anticipated.

With tight pacing and impactful emotional beats, the narrative keeps readers engaged, though a few additional scenes showcasing Missy and Kaden's growth together post-reveal could have enhanced the story further. Nonetheless, the heartfelt resolution makes up for any minor shortcomings.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Missy has always had a crush on Kaden but never perused anything with him. He was too involved with her family to do something and it seemed like he only saw her as a little sister. Then one night their shields come down and they spend one steamy night that goes wrong in the morning. He’s gone and only left an “I’m sorry” note. Missy didn’t sulk around and planned to go on like nothing happened. But she wasn’t expecting destiny to be so twisted. Kaden has a dark past one that makes him feel unworthy for Missy he wants her but he cant have her, he feels that he isn’t good enough so he messes up a lot. Until life gives him a second chance and he takes it with full force and does everything he can to show her he’s always wanted her and always will. But his past comes back and might cause him to lose the most precious things he had.

Kaden Scott caught my attention right away and so did miss in the other books and getting their books has made my year it’s great to see their struggles and see them blossom into a wonderful couple. I do recommend reading the previous books just because they are amazing and it gives you more insight on the side characters. 🤍

Loved Artemis and Kaden! Missy aka Artemis has been crushing on her oldest brother’s best friend since she was little. He was six years older than her. Kaden had been adopted into their family. So at her brother’s wedding they share one night. That one night turns into two pink lines. Can love find a way past their fears? Quick read.
