I was so happy to delve back into the Wartime Bookshop series again, it's so like being in a comfortable pair of pajamas, I love the cosy feeling Lesley gives me with her writing. Here's to the next.
My thanks to Netgalley and the Publisher for the reading copy.

Another brilliant book in the series and is just as good as the other books.

The book had a mystery to solve who was sending the poison pen letters. I enjoyed that bit about the book I kind of guessed who it might be. There is a bit of heartbreak in the book. Three woman vying for a man who will win the race. The story was very enjoyable and liked where the characters all worked well.

I thought the ending of the book was really nice and look forward to the next book as I would imagine there will be more to find out what happens to them.

Would certainly recommend this book.

I have read all of the Wartime Bookshop stories and I've enjoyed this one immensely. I love Lesley's abilities to make each character so interesting, especially the women. I have loved reading about, and getting to know, Suki, a character who has appeared in all of the books from the early days but has only just become more of a main character and I can't wait to hear about what happens to her next! Every time I read one of Lesley's Wartime Bookshop stories, it feels like catching up with old friends.

Churchwood - you have my heart! I’ve come to absolutely adore being in this fictional wartime village and checking in with its host of wonderful characters is delightful. It’s a warm hug every time!

No matter how much time passes between reads, I slip back into this book series like slipping into my favourite slippers. I seem to have made a separate compartment in my brain for remembering all these books and characters and I’ve loved every opportunity to catch up with them and the going’s on in their lives. And given its wartime, there’s plenty of dramas and excitements going on for them. As in this one - the weddings!

The split perspectives between characters were welcome, as I honestly love them all. It was another case of ‘I can’t read these books fast enough’ but also ‘want to slow down because I don’t want to finish it’ so naturally I finished it in a few days because I loved it so much.

Another fabulous addition to Churchwood and the Wartime Bookshop

Naomi is receiving poison pen letters, Marjorie has had communication from a cousin she didn’t know she had, Ruby and Pearl are planning weddings with or without their parents - then there are all the old characters Alice, Adam the vicar, Suki the maid, Beth and not forgetting the love of Naomi’s life - Bert.
Along the way there is entertainment for the evacuee children, and potential tragedy.

All wrapped up in a very satisfying well written and well researched story.

It did end as though that could well be the end but there were also opportunities to expand the story and lives of some of the characters.

And don’t forget the Bookshop - still running, still keeping the community together and still helping out.

Despite Majorie’s new cousin and her antics.

I thoroughly recommend the whole series

The latest installment in the Wartime Bookshop series. It does work as a standalone story, but I would definitely advise reading the earlier books for the character progression and their relationships.

The return to Churchwood sees Naomi receiving poison pen letters, and Ruby and Pearl planning their weddings to Kenny and Fred, but facing very different problems with their parents. I really liked getting to know Suki more in this book, up until now she has bee a side character. I also really like Bert, his love and support for Naomi is beautiful.to read. This book is packed full of wonderful characters, both good and bad. This is a must read series for me, and I look forward to the next book.

This was another great story in the Wartime Bookshop series.Naomi is getting anonymous letters and with the help of Bert she is trying to find out who is sending her them.Ruby and Pearl are preparing to marry brothers Kenny and Fred but the girls are having problems with both of their parents.Suki who works for Naomi has fallen for the vicar along with two other girls.Thank you to Netgalley and Random House UK.

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I absolutely loved reading this book.

We’re back in Churchwood with our old friends and someone is sending letters to Naomi, but she doesn’t know who it could be. Naomi is always there to help others, letting them live with her if needed, helping with the bookshop as well as so much more.

Slowly with the help of her friends the person is found out and things start to get back to normal. When there’s an accident in the village and Bert is injured.

At the farm there is lots of activity, but it’s not the sort that would make Ernie happy. As Ruby is in the process of planning her wedding to Kenny, and Pearl wants to marry Fred. But both girls have a problem with their parents not being happy about who they’re marrying.

Suki is in love, with someone in the village, but there’s a problem here too, a couple of other girls are in the same boat. Who will the person choose and what will happen to those unfortunate to be chosen?

I highly recommend this book.

another fabulous step in time to this series and back to characters that feels part of a group i really do care for. this one felt like another gem to add to the collection and as soon as i saw it to be published i felt excited to be back and wanted to meet all my old faves again.my only sadness is at some point we will have to leave them!
this book one of our group is receiving poison pen letters. and i admit i was at once protective of her. but shes not on her own and loved ones gather to try and figure out just who is behind them. because who would want to hurt our Naomi. she does nothing but good for those around her.
there are also two wedding being planned. but there is more people piling in on their decisions and Ruby and Pearl sure are feeling the pressure.
and Suzi is growing up and certainly facing all that comes with it.
its so cosy and brilliant to be back. i got all the same warming vibes but of course lifes not so easy during war and Lesley gives us the balance brilliantly once again.
another instalment to cherish. loved it.

Brilliant to be back with the wartime bookshop characters again. Naomi is plagued with poison pen letters and Bert is determined to find out the reason and the person behind the awfulness being put on his beloved.
Ruby and Pearl are organising their weddings it with so many outside influences will they ever happen.
Suzi becomes 18 and finds herself growing up and facing real life.
Fantastic book and can’t wait for another visit.

Think this may be my favourite in the series. There is some nasty going-ons in the village of Churchwood, anonymous letters sent to Naomi Harrington, this the woman who goes out of her way to help people, giving shelter to refugees, assisting bookshop and assisting various other good causes. Who could have taken against her, it was compelling reading as it was worked out who was responsible.
While all that was going on Brimbles farm is awash with activity and not the kind to please Ernie. Ruby is planning her wedding to Kenny while Pearl plans hers to Fred. Both have their own problems, aside from money flow issues, there are parents to consider or not depending on decisions. It may take a childlike view to work it out!
Meanwhile Suki has set her cap at a young man, problem being so have others. Interesting to see which way that works out.
It’s all about kindness.

I enjoyed Naomi’s story, I actually felt for her (I didn’t in earlier instalments). What a sweetheart Bert was & his powers of deduction. My favourite character was Fred for speaking up for his woman, considering he rarely had anything to say.
Least favourite was the person who caused Naomi’s problems.
I do hope there will be another book.

I really enjoyed this wartime story and the Bookshop. The characters were so interesting and the story took on a sinister note quite early on. I hope there is more to come in thus series. My thanks to netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

Churchwood Hertfordshire.
They won't let the war stop them from finding happiness.
I adore this series and the wartime bookshop continues to strive even during the hard times of every day worries.
As weddings are hard to organise who doesn't love one.
The girls with all their worries bring the book to life once again.
Such another inspirational story.
I loved it.
