Title: Full Tilt
Author: Emma Scott
Format: Audiobook (Advanced Listening Copy)
Narrators: Nelson Hobbs, Caitlyn Kelly
Narration Style: Dual narration
Tropes: Tragic romance, opposites attract, emotional healing, artist/muse, found family

Review:
Full Tilt by Emma Scott is one of those books that quietly sneaks up on you and then completely shatters your heart. From the very first chapter, I was pulled in by the emotional depth and the authentic voices of the two main characters. Nelson Hobbs and Caitlyn Kelly did a good job bringing Jonah and Kacey to life but I would have preferred duet narration.

While the setup made me nervous for an instalove situation, I really appreciated that their relationship took its time. There was real growth and emotional bonding that made their connection feel earned, not rushed. They found each other at a time when both were lost, and watching them lean on each other was as beautiful as it was heartbreaking.

That said, I’m giving this 4 stars instead of 5 because there were moments where the writing leaned more on telling rather than showing, and a few scenes felt repetitive. Still, the emotional payoff was worth it and yes, I cried.

If you’re someone who loves a book that delivers emotional damage in the best possible way, Full Tilt should be on your TBR. I’ve already recommended it to my best friend for that very reason.

Trigger Warnings:
• Terminal illness
• Alcohol abuse
• Grief/loss
• Medical trauma
• Death of a main character

Thank you to NetGalley, Tantor Audio, and Emma Scott for the advanced listening copy in exchange for my honest review.

Kacey is an up and coming rock star who is the life of the party, until she meets Noah, her limo driver for a night. Their connection changes everything.

This book successfully creates a deep and powerful relationship with the MCs and allows the reader to feel empathy for them. I found myself both laughing and crying with them and hoping for their very best. I also appreciated the inclusion of strong family and friend relationships. This is a good book for anyone looking to immerse themselves in someone else’s relationship for a bit and feel it all deeply.

Thank you to NetGalley, Tantor Audio and the author for the advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

ALC Review

4.25/5 ⭐️

Overall thoughts:
This book was raw, emotional and not normally a book or story I would pick up but I am so glad I did. I loved it so much. Now I will say if you are a HEA/HFN fan this might not be 100% your cup of tea.

Now to my full thoughts, this took me a minute since this book was one I needed to sit with (in a good way).

Detailed thoughts:
First off the narrators were incredible in this book, like so good I was practically sobbing. I haven't read an Emma Scott book before and this one was so good. Like I mentioned up top I am not a big fan of romances that don't end with an HEA/HFN but I decided to give this one a try and I absolutely loved it. This book was one of those stories that sticks with you it was so raw and real. Jonah and Kasey were such great main characters I was falling in love with them through the entire story. The growth of the characters was so well done and I am so in love with them. That ending though... 😭

Thanks to the author, Tantor audio for the ALC copy via netgalley. All opinions are my own.

Oh my god, I knew this book didn’t have an HEA going into it and caught on pretty quickly to why that was and how it would end but that didn’t help the devastation I feel 😭💔

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ALC. soooo sad the next AB doesn’t release until the end of next month. I immediately ordered the second book.

This follows Jonah, a 26 yo who received a heart transplant a little over a year ago, and Kacey, a 22 yo guitarist in a popular band. They meet because Jonah is the band’s limo driver while they’re in Las Vegas and one night, Kacey is too drunk for Jonah not to care about how she gets home so he breaks the rules and takes her back to his place so he can look after her. They’re put in a hard spot because Kacey’s band has a ton of tour dates left and she is under contract to complete them, but they have an undeniable connection and once she learns that they’re time will be cut short, she decided to do whatever it takes to spend Jonah’s remaining days with him.

This was heartbreakingly beautiful and incredibly written. I truly felt like I was going through this with them and it ripped me in half.

Full Tilt completely broke my heart. I feel raw, devastated, and so heartbroken for Kacie and the beautiful moments that she and Jonah shared. This story gave me major A Walk to Remember vibes and was as magical as it was devastating. I believe that the universe will always bring you what you're meant for despite the timing and this book solidifies that fate steps in when you never expect it.

Kacie. Gosh, I loved this broken girl and how strong she was despite the deep hurt that she had suffered. Her heart was pure and gentle and she had so much love to give and I loved that Jonah got to have that in his life and got to feel the magic of her love. Equally, I loved that Kacie got to feel Jonah's love as well and that they both got to share something so beautiful despite the timing.

On audio, Caitlin Kelly and Nelson Hobbs were incredible. Their narration brought to life to emotional magic that was this story and I felt every piece of it from the beautiful moments all the way to the devastating ones.

Thank you to Emma Scott, Netgalley, and Tantor Audio for the ALC.

Well freaking heck. 😭 I dumbly went in blind thinking this was just a regular old emotional rockstar romance, but it's beautiful and tragic and it hurt so much... Jonah and Kasey were so wonderful together and I loved them so much. I loved watching them fall in love and loved watching them traverse their hurdles...

I don't know what else to say without spoilers... But I'm really excited for book two to see how this one ends.

The audio was great. Nelson Hobbs and Caitlin Kelly were both wonderful and I really enjoyed their narration of this story. Thank you so much to Tantor for the copy.

SICK AND TWISTED I AM SOBBING

5 brilliant, amazing, soul crushing stars.

I don’t cry with books often, but this book wrecked me in the best possible way. I just know this is a book that will stick with me forever.

I went into this book completely blind. I only applied for the ARC because I knew I was a fan of the author, but I didn’t know anything about the story of the book. I am simultaneously glad and crushed that I didn’t look into the book prior to reading it. I’m glad, because I initially thought it was going to be a rockstar romance, but it turned out to be SO much more than that. It absolutely blew my expectations out of the water.

It evolved so much from a rockstar romance into such an amazing, soul crushing love story. The characters growth throughout the book was amazing to read, and how easy it felt to connect to the both of them. Both characters were both exactly what the other needed. It was such a heart wrenching love story, but in the best possible way.

I can’t imagine how hard of a book this was for the author to write, if it was so hard to read but I am so glad she did write it because it was so worth it to read.

My favorite part of this was that the way this book reminds you to just TRULY live life to the fullest and make your days count.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and author for an ARC of this audiobook! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you to NetGalley and Tantor Audio for an audio arc of this book.

I am a long-time fan of Emma Scott’s, and I read this book for the first time 5 years ago. Listening to this audio brought back all of the same emotions and heartbreak. Kacey and Jonah have a beautiful relationship that develops quickly after starting as a friendship. Jonah, despite what he is currently going through, helps Kacey out after realizing how drunk she is when she’s a passenger in his limo. He takes care of her, and kind of expects it to end there. But he offers to help, let’s her stay with him, and their relationship blooms.

Warning - this book is not considered a romance, though this paired with the second book in the duet (All In) could be considered a romance.

Thank you to the narrators for bringing this story to life. No notes!

🎧 AUDIOBOOK REVIEW 🎧

WOW I am not ok! First off loved the audio I’m a sucker for duet narration so I was happy! Both did amazing on this audio it was just perfect

From the first word I was hooked. My heart is not ok and won’t be ok for a long time. Kasey and Jonah ❤️ my god I don’t even babe the words. Except that was one of the most beautifully heartbreaking books I’ve ever listened too.

I am so glad the ALC became available on NetGalley or I may have never found this book.

I went into this one completely blind and didn’t expect it to be such a tear jerker that would make me feel so much.

This book follows Kacey and Jonah. They come into each other’s lives just when they needed each other the most. It is a beautiful story of love and loss. Kaceys conversation with Jonah’s mom had me so emotional.

I absolutely adore Jonah and everything about him. The friendships he built up around him were so special.

What I didn’t love? The seemingly flirty vibes between Kacey and Theo. That better have just been me being crazy.

I really enjoyed the audiobook and felt that the narration was done very well.

Thank you to NetGalley and Tantor Audio for the ALC in exchange for an honest review.

Did I like it? Yes. Did I love it? No.
This took me four days to finish, mostly because I just didn't really care what happened.
It picked up near the end, and definitely felt the emotion of what was happening. Just wish I felt this way while reading the whole thing, but the story was kind of bland.

3.5 stars

A beautiful and heart wrenching story. I truly wish I knew how heartbreaking this would be before I started it. If you're looking for a book filled with romance, heart and unconditional love this story is for you. I don't want to give away any spoilers.
Thank you NetGalley for the arc of the audiobook.

If I had to describe this book in one word, it would be heartbreaking! Thankfully, I can use as many words as I want! It’s also amazing, deep, and emotional. This story ripped my heart out. I’m counting on the follow up to put it back together! Kacey and Jonah were everything from their deep emotional connection to the great sexual chemistry to their developed backstories.

Emma Scott delivered us a wonderful story with lots of character growth and conflict to keep me listening. The story was a bit long, but I think that’s the beauty of it. The listener wants just a few more moments with their love story. This is my first book by this author and it certainly won’t be my last! I can’t wait to read more from her.
Tantor did a phenomenal job choosing great narrators and producing this audiobook! I could feel these characters through the narration. It was like they were living and breathing and in my real life. I was experiencing the heartbreak right along with them. Kris Koscheski and Caitlin Kelly are new to me narrators, but they did a great job!
I received this book from Tantor Audio and Netgalley. All opinions are my own.

I dove into this book completely blind, which is my usual approach. Right off the bat, I sensed that it wasn't going to have a happy ending, and I was intrigued to see how the story would unfold. I wondered if there would be moments that would leave me in tears. While I can certainly see how this book could tug at the heartstrings, it didn’t quite bring me to that emotional point. Instead, it presented the events with a grace that kept it from being overly dramatic.

The story itself was beautiful, and I found myself really invested. Now, I can't wait to jump into book 2! If you’re looking for a thoughtful read that stays with you without leaning too heavy into the emotional turmoil, this one might be for you!

I listened to the audiobook version of this story and I haven’t ugly cried like this in a long time. This book is full of friendship, love, hope, pain and loss. Kacey and Jonah’s story took me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions ending in a waterfall of tears. The relationship development between these two was exquisite, and the individual growth these characters showed gave me chills. The love story, the friendships, the family issues, Jonah’s health, Kacey’s lifestyle, all of it pulled at my heart strings and I loved it all. The narration by Nelson Hobbs and Caitlin Kelly was phenomenal, bringing out every emotion under the sun.

This was such a beautiful and devastating story. I’m heartbroken, but heard there is a second book so i’ll have to check it out. I love an emotional romance and this did not disappoint, Kacey and Jonah have my heart. Loved the narration, you could totally feel the emotion in the actors voices.

This story is just as heartbreaking the second time around. This re-done audio was such a great read that will slowly rip your heart out. You fall involve with both characters quickly, and quietly cheer on their building relationship. All while knowing that it will end. Kacey has such growth after she spends more time with Jonah. And Jonah is just a strong character knowing that his time is slipping away due to a terminal illness. This audio was done so well, and both narrators did a great job in this duel narrated story.

Thank you Netgalley and Cantor Audio for the ALC. This is my honest review.

Full Tilt by Emma Scott with narration by Kris Koscheski and Caitlin Kelly is a beautiful and heart wrenching novel. I really wish the audio had trigger warnings as I was not able to finish this novel. It was a DNF at 45% due to the difficult content for me, but I cannot get the characters out of my head. What I read was beautifully tragic and knowing how the book would end, I would not continue. I suggest reading reviews and the author description prior to reading.

5 stars, my god.

Kacey Dawson sunshine embodied and never given what she deserves until the day she meets Jonah Fletcher… who is officially my number 1 (non-fantasy) book boyfriend.

Their journey is so wholesome and beautiful, so honest and absolutely soul crushing.

I cannot form cohesive thoughts beyond the fact that I love this story and the narration was truly incredible on audio. Caitlin Kelley NAILED IT! She alone brought me to tears with her abilities. 10/10
