whisking love is a heartwarming tale of love and healing. sometimes paths take detours, sometimes paths are completely taken away with no warning or purpose. noones fault. but so much lost. dreams gone? but does it mean you cant, wont, have to stumble onto a new one, or at least get up and keep going. because if you alive, even when lost or suffering lost, it also means you are still on a path. there still a chance. be brave.
weve got our small town hug in a book story here folks. and you'll be happy to join in, settle in, feel all the feels.
the characters Jeanine has given us are real, they are true, they are ones we can and do instantly root for.
Esther Shepherd is a bistro owner in Sunshine Bay. shes crafted this world for herself which is all fine folks. alllll fine? its safe, its her known, its her protection. she cant deal with anymore heartbreak. shes got her customers and shes got her friends. one complete friend in Curtis. Curtis who she needed to be there for so much because of his own loss. his wife died a few years ago and they have needed each other. and over the story we see these two in every real sense. and how their friendship deepens and expands in all the beautiful ways that love does. and love is here, we see it guys. love is here! Jeanine handles this with no cliche or preaching, nor does she make it crass or unrealistic. its done with the gentle and realistic writing of someone that knows her books and characters and knows real people.
they both have been through stuff and built walls to stop the hurt. but hurt can come if you dont let anyone 'your person' in. so its going to take bravery to see the path and walk it. and perhaps on that path you'll find another to walk alongside you.
i also love in this book how the rest of the community is so much part of it and adds so much to it too. it gives such a whole world to become immersed in.
a gorgeous book. a book you wont mind getting lost in.
