Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this eARC.
A solid well-written psychological thriller with interesting twists.
This one wasn't one of my favorites, as I found the protagonist a character I couldn't relate to - regardless of the bad choices she made in her life due to whatever reasons - I could neither empathize nor relate to her. Let's face it, we need SOMEONE to cheer for in these stories (a whip smart cop, a compelling protagonist - someone in dire danger who we are anxiously hoping is rescued... Personally I viewed the protagonist in this story to be a creepy person who ruined numerous lives (the least of which was her own,).
Although psychological thrillers / police procedural can involve gruesome crimes, the best of the best provide us with a sense of justice, renewal, and hope. I don't get that from a character who spent her entire life caring about no one other than herself and how she could twist circumstances to best suit her own selfish needs, there comes a point where a character is no longer redeemable.

This book is one for readers who focus on the story rather than on any sense of empathy with the protagonist as, really, this one is pretty unlikeable. But the plot of this book is amazing - detailed, dark, intense and full of surprises. I liked the way it was written and how quickly I was utterly immersed in the events, really deserving of the title “thriller.”

Woman Missing by Kaelin Wennerberg is a tense and gripping thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The suspense builds perfectly as secrets, danger, and mystery intertwine, making it impossible to put down. I enjoyed the story and the complex, compelling characters very much. I truly enjoyed this book and rated it five stars.

This book is my first by the Author and based on this one won't be the last
Max has served her time for killing a man and has now returned home - where else would she go
Someone doesn't think she deserves her freedom and now she is being stalked
The book is full of tension , much darker than I expected , with twists and turns around
every corner - a real page turner . However I did not find Max a likeable character in
fact I wasn't sure at times if I cared how things would turn out for her but that being said it takes
a good writer to produce a book where this fact became irrelevant - the book as a whole
was a dark , twisted story with a psychological bent that drew me in , well worth reading
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

This one started off strong and then for me it lost momentum. The main character is truly unlikable and never redeems herself when she had multiple opportunities to do so. It was still a fast easy read but just not my favorite.

From the gripping opening line—“I killed a man. Maybe he deserved it.”—Kaelin Wennerberg plunges readers into a tense, psychological thriller that explores guilt, trauma, and the unnerving sense of being watched. Max, the protagonist, has just served five years in prison after a drunken night ended in the death of a man. Now back in her hometown, she’s determined to rebuild her life. But shadows from her past linger, and a creeping paranoia begins to take hold. Is someone watching her—or is her mind playing tricks?
Woman Missing is dark, suspenseful, and more twisted than it initially appears. Wennerberg masterfully layers tension through eerie twists, complex characters, and a chilling subplot involving the disappearance of blonde women. As Max struggles to survive and stay sane, the reader is pulled deeper into her fractured psyche, questioning what is real and what is delusion.
It’s an intense journey into the darker corners of the mind that leaves you thinking long after the final page—and wanting more. Hopefully, a sequel is on the way.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publishers for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This started really well, as I got more into the end if did not disappoint
The twist and the suspense
Although the ending, stalker love vibes seemed to throw me off which overall lowered the rating for me

Thank you Netgalley and Joffe Books for the ARC!
It was a good book. I was not sure if I did like Max, or not, to be all honest. But I have learned that you can hate characters and still enjos the story, so I did not let that make me put the book down.
It was pretty dark, though, much darker than I did expect. And still gripping me enough with it's twists and turns and paranoid main characters that I had to keep reading. I am giving this one solid 4 stars - mostly because I am not sure if I can properly sleep tonight after finally turning the last page.

The very first scene opens up with the main character drunk driving which they admit is a frequent thing they do. I do find it interesting when the main character ends up being someone who isn’t the most likable because there usually has to be some very good character development in the book for you to be empathetic towards them. Unfortunately this character never really had any character development in my opinion even when she had the chance to. The story line was somewhat interesting but not enough to save it from the bad characters.

This is my first book by this author and it was good. Thought provoking and intense with good character development. I look forward to reading more by this author.

Received this as an eARC from NetGalley
Loved this book! So many twists and turns. I was not expecting the ending that happened. Clark (Graham) came off sketchy to me from the moment he appeared and I just had the feeling he was the one after her. Such a great read!

This story line was great kept me engaged and entertained I loved it such a page tuner !!! Juicy read thriller that had a couple of wtf did I just read

Thank you NetGalley! This book drew me in from the first page. It was an intense read and made me feel for the peril the characters had to face.

Just WOW! Intense and relentless, tragic and terrifying, violent and sometimes jaw dropping - and totally addictive suspense. Nonstop - past and present collide in a storm of nature versus nurture and evil taking charge. Ultimately tragic with no winners ...

Woman Missing was an absolutely wild ride. Max had a bit too much to drink one night and ended up hitting and killing a man on her way home. After 5 years in jail, she is released and trying to get her life back together. She starts to feel like she may be being watched. Turns out, she's right.
Woman Missing was dark and suspenseful. Darker than I anticipated actually. I'm not sure what exactly I was expecting, but this was more than that! The author takes us along with Max as she is captured and fearing for her life. But as Max is fighting to stay alive, you start to see just how twisted the human brain can become. I don't want to give any spoilers, but the glimpse inside her mind is powerful. How far will you go? What is real and what is just your brain playing with you? The ending left me wanting more...when's the sequel??

From the first chilling sentence—“I killed a man. Maybe he deserved it.”—Kaelin Wennerberg delivers a pulse-pounding ride into the mind of a woman haunted by her past and stalked by an increasingly dangerous present. After serving time, she returns to her hometown only to discover that shadows of suspicion—and someone who knows too much—still loom large.
Taut, unpredictable, and laced with paranoia, Woman Missing masterfully builds suspense through layered characters and eerie twists. The pattern of disappearing blonde women adds a chilling dimension to a narrative already steeped in tension.
This gripping psychological thriller is ideal for fans of Gillian Flynn or Paula Hawkins. If you love stories that dive deep into trauma, identity, and the creeping dread of being watched—this one’s unputdownable.

OMG this book!
This book has every element I look for in a thriller.
From page 1 it sucked me in and all of my senses were on high alert.
Wasn't long and the twists got started and never stopped! I mean seriously never stopped until the very last page.
I have only ever rated a couple of books five stars but this is definitely a 5 star book.
If you love thrillers you need to read this book.

Throughout the book the the tension builds steadily, with just enough eerie atmosphere and psychological twists to keep you uneasy but hooked.

Woman Missing by Kaelin Wennerberg is a gripping, emotionally charged thriller that explores the lasting consequences of a single bad decision. At the center of the story is Max, a character whose internal struggle between redemption and relapse is both raw and deeply relatable.
