I am obsessed with this book. I did not read the synopsis prior to going into it, and I was so excited when I realized this was a Special Ops themed Romance. This book had all the action of an Action movie with just the right amount of spice! I will absolutely read the next books in this series, as well as the prior series that are interconnected (Takeback Series) I HIGHLY recommend this one!

Cat and Jack come in hot and explosive. The whole book is that way. It was really hard to put it down. I finished it in one day.

I can definitely understand why this book has its fans. It’s packed with action, featuring the CIA, and a thrilling sense of danger, not to mention some sizzling chemistry between the characters.

That said, I found the writing style a bit lacking; it didn’t quite deliver the depth I was hoping for. I wanted to feel a stronger connection to the characters, but it felt like something was missing.

On the bright side, it’s a super fast-paced read, which I think will resonate with many readers.

well looky here. It's Jack Donavan again. We know him from Takeback. He is now on a different team based out of California. A few months before this story he met Catarina Keys In Vegas. He really liked her but he told her that she wasn't his type which was totally a lie. Months later he rescues her in Honduras where they end up working closely together. Catarina can be a little reckless so he spends most of his time nearly having a heart attack. Turns out there is a lot going on in Honduras and they must work together to help others, and stay alive because they are both looking to help the same woman. This women leads them to be going around southern, and Central America. There is a lot of action, a lot of steamy romance, and some familiar names.. This is a cannot miss, you will love it I promise.

This is my first time reading a book like this. Romance but with an adventure filled twist. I felt like I was in the middle of an action movie. It kept me reading and reading. I needed to know what happened. Now I need to go back and read the other spin off series. Highly recommend if you need a brain “palate cleanser” in between fluff.

I was looking forward to a new series by Riley Edwards, and we were introduced to these characters in her prior series, so I was ready. Still, I found that the FMC and MMC got together way too quickly, and by the halfway point of this book, she was already using it to set up her next book. If you're new to Riley Edwards, I would start with another series of hers. 3 stars!

From page one, this book pulls you straight into the action—CIA intrigue, danger, and some seriously hot chemistry keep the momentum going strong.

While I enjoyed the fast pace, I did find myself wishing for a bit more emotional depth and a stronger connection between the characters. That extra layer would have made the story even more gripping for me.

Still, it’s a quick, high-energy read that’s perfect if you’re in the mood for adrenaline, romance, and a dash of danger. If that’s your thing, I think you’ll have a great time with it.

Riley Edwards has done it again. This book is an incredible start to her new series. There are characters we have been introduced to in other books however you do not need to read those before picking up this exciting fast paced story. From the first chapter, you are introduced into a wild fast paced and intricate plot that does not let up until the very end. This story had me on the edge of my seat and kept me invested in not just Jack and Catarina's story but also that of Jack's teammates. The action, plot, romance, suspense had me invested until the very end. Riley does a fantastic job of creating an exciting fictional world for you to get lost in. I cannot recommend this book enough. I am eager to see where she takes us next. Easily one of my favorite books for 2025!!

I can totally see the appeal of this book. Lots of action, CIA, violence, danger, and hot chemistry.

However, I will say the writing style left something to be desired as I personally felt it lacked depth. I wanted to feel more of a connection between the characters but felt like I was missing something personally.

As with all Riley Edwards books I loved it. It is a quick read. The characters are relatable with an exception dynamics. I love that the suspense is through the story not just the last chapter. You have witty banter, romance, suspense, sex and over the top Alpha’s. I can’t wait to read the rest of the team’s stories.

This was a fun suspenseful romance book. While it’s not my typical choice of genre, I enjoyed the fast-paced plot. When agent Catarina is engaged in a dangerous mission, Navy SEAL Jack and his team jump in to help. Catarina is strong female lead character and Jack is protective, yet kind.

Oh my my Riley has done it all in this book. Thank you for my ARC NetGalley, I loved it. Such an adrenaline pumping storyline. The characters were made for each other. Great plot and spice, but not over the top. A great read for someone that loves thrillers, mysteries and lots of romance.

The romance is a bit spicy but nothing over the top, and the devotion Jack feels for Cat is so swoony! I loved the teammates Jack works with and am looking forward to their stories as well. This is a fast paced read full of adventure and dangerous missions, with that bit of romance that is perfectly seasoned.

Jack is the military, Alpha protector, while cat is definitely not a damsel in distress. She runs into danger to protect the ones she loves, her team or anyone who needs help. You see the “issue” here 😏

The beginning of this book and how Jack and Cat meet again had me squealing. Oh so good. And from there it just got better. The laughs had me laughing, the tension had be ready to burst and when it broke the spicy was hot.

We also get to meet the team and see who the other books in this series will be about. So much potential and so excited for all of it.

So I read Fixed Asset from the Downrange series and… it was absolutely amazing and addictive! A passionate, fast-paced experience I couldn’t put down for a second.

Catarina Keys is a fierce, daring, and totally magnetic heroine. Her chemistry with Jack Donovan is sizzling — packed with tension, desire, and razor-sharp banter. The blend of military action, high-stakes romance, and deep-rooted conspiracies makes for a thrilling plot that keeps you on edge from start to finish.

The push-and-pull between freedom and protection, loyalty and passion, is written so well that every reunion, every spark, every internal conflict hits just right.

I’m officially hooked — and already counting the days for the next Downrange book!

This was a really good read, with non-stop action from the get-go.

Jack and Cat had really good chemistry and it was a refreshing take on the romance building.

Cat's relationship with the team and Shep was brilliant, full of fun banter and a touch of soul. Leaving me wanting to know more about the team and who they are.

I'm hooked on Shep and his character as well as the teaser for book two!

The only reason I gave this book 4 stars, rather than 5, was because I have the feeling this is a bit of a spin-off from another series, or it's linked to another series.

This is the first Riley Edwards book I've read, so I felt a bit out of the loop and slightly off balance when it came to the teams and the name drops of people (whom I can only assume have their own stories). But I'll definitely be looking into her other books, and I'm excited to read them because this really is a good book!

It was a really fun, easy read, full of action, adventure, mystery and, of course, romance. Definitely worth a read if you like authors such as Christine Feehan and Anna Hackett.

Fixed Asset is yet another phenomenal addition to Riley Edwards’ ever-growing list of must-read books! I’ve been dying for Jack and Cat’s story, and it absolutely did not disappoint. From the very first page, I was hooked. The chemistry, the banter, and the deep love that leaps off the pages make this one of my favorites yet.
Cat is everything I adore in a heroine - fierce, fearless, and totally unapologetic. Her take-no-shit attitude had me cheering for her throughout the book. She’s the embodiment of strength and independence, and Jack? He’s exactly the man she needs. Strong, steady, and never intimidated by her fire - instead, he fuels it. Their dynamic is the perfect balance of push and pull, passion and partnership. Total relationship goals!
The humor was spot-on, the action had me holding my breath, and the emotional moments hit just right. And being teased with Mason? I am so ready for his book! If this first story is any indication, this next group of guys is going to be my new obsession.
Another fantastic read from Riley Edwards that delivers everything I love - romance, suspense, strong characters, and a storyline that grabs hold and doesn’t let go.
